I was never able to get into the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons games despite loving Rune Factory. With that being said, I did read your post, and I can see how that would be frustrating. It seems like a lot of games have stagnated lately with remakes instead of creating a new experience. I'm sorry the series has turned into that. I remember people being very positive about Story of Seasons years ago, but I guess it didn't keep that momentum.

I don't think it's the best sign cause I remember Alphadream pumped out two remakes before going bankrupt.

Trio of towns was an amazing game and I was so excited for the next game. But then it was the friends of mineral town remake where they made everyone kinda ugly and removed rival marriages. And then pioneers of olive town was garbage because they obviously just wanted to cash in on a Stardew clone instead of doing their own thing. And the last two games were a remake of a wonderful life which was okayish. It wasn’t terrible but having played the original after playing the remake, I enjoyed the original more because it was more charming. And then the grand bazaar remake that just came out is another remake and for some god awful reason they changed Daisy’s original cute design to an uggo one. Which just reminds me how much I hate the new artstyle of the games. In terms of gameplay, I always feel like I’m doing too much in a day and not enough at the same time. Like they added too much stuff without accounting for time management. I was just uninterested in the game and stopped playing it. I ended up going back to the original and beat it again.

Yeah I’m one of the few that are generally positive about them because I’ve played them all and have seen consistent improvement in each installment whilst still enjoying it because it’s a simple farm game I don’t have to think too much about.

God their story is depressing. Especially after people found out they were trying to hire a planner to help manage stuff right before they shut down. I really hope that doesn’t happen to Marvelous, but I wouldn’t be surprised if something similar happens or at least shutting down the bokujomonogatari developers.

Due to Luke and Jamie, SF has had a pretty big resurgence of female fans, especially fujo ones. Ed being redesigned into a (relatively skinny) pretty boy helped keep interest, too. RyuKen has always had a pretty niche, but strong, following (never as big as Kyo/Iori though).

My selfish desire is for Remy to be added in season 4 and having fujobait with Alex.

Ocarina and Twilight Link were the peakest. Skyward was a huge dip and BOTW Link is currently the nadir. I cannot take anyone attracted to BOTW Link seriously. His body is so disgusting

OoT is easily the best 3D Zelda title, but the shipping scene for it it so dead. Even back in the day most of the yaoi for it was just genderswap Shiek/Link. In that regard even though Skyward is kind of shit I appreciated that there was Ghirahim/Link and Groose/Link right from day one.

I'm so angry I can't get into BoTW, it just doesn't appeal to me as a Zelda game but it eats so much of the fandom content. Sidon seems cool, but I'm probably never beating the game so idc.
