I used to read and love the manga back when anime was hard to access. I recall looking for some yaoi at the time, but found nothing. And when there was stuff, it didn't play into my topping preferences.

Thankfully, there seems to have been an explosion of stuff where Ranma ends up on the bottom, often under Ryoga. Based.

Ranma. I like how he's got more drive and slyness than the 'average romcom protagonist', Takahashi's boys always have some traits that make them seem more fun to play with, than just being a het love interest.

>Best Ship?
Currently rewatching, and being way more into Kuno/Ranma than expected, the height gap and Kuno's cool, yet devoted personality is very cute against Ranma's comparative hot-headedness. That said, Ryoga/Ranma seems to be the longstanding OTP.

Bottom. He's got the sly devil personality, which is hottest when taking it, imo, although I can see why people would enjoy him topping Ryoga.

I like the idea of Kuno finding out that the pig-tailed girl is actually his romantic rival, still being in love with Ranma-chan, then starting to notice that male Ranma has the same cute traits as Ranma-chan, then growing protective over male Ranma and having a gay crisis over it.

when it comes to ships really I like anything but the main romance, which is the case for most Takahashi works, i'd say ryoga and ranma would be right up my ally if it weren't for the fact that Ryoga is way too emotional, and I like ship combinations where one party is less emotional than the other, so Kuno and Ranma.

I watched the anime and have heard a couple of their songs, honestly I hate both Aizo and Yujiro kek.
Honestly most of the cast in the anime were huuuuge assholes, it was funny at the end where they were like ‘Our fan girls are cute!’ as opposed to them laughing their asses off at their insane stalker fans lining their wallets while they bang female idols.

I think as a franchise though it’s not fujobaity, it’s pretty firmly in the shoujo zone and I’ve only seen them do one gay song.

I think it was the Potential. Even in their very short screentime, matt and mello are shown as these badass partners-in-crime. Iirc it was basically just them two at that point in the story since Mello had gone kind of rogue, so there was this insinuation that they were particularly close and shared a history together. One of Mello's only small moments of emotion is shown when expresses regret that Matt was killed. Also they just look damn good together. The fans were so right to change matt's hair to red though because that green is not it. The level of based you have to be to completely ignore the canon haircolor because it's ugly and straight up pretend a new design into existence kek

I don't wanna criticize the games art unfairly because I just want good games for straight an bi women, but some of the poses look seriously weird to me. Like the art is overrendered in some places (meaning that there will be more shadows and highlights placed in the art), so if the pose is off, it looks way more obvious than in "cartoony" art. I sometimes feel like I miss the days of really simple/not as rendered art from game companies. Like even though there's wack ass poses in anime, it won't stand out as much because it's not meant to be realistic.

in the big picture, only 1 out of 4 of those are relevant to fujo history. Afaik DBZ isn't popular with fujos; it's enjoyed mainly by dudebros who enjoy mainstream anime. One Piece is also normie anime fan fare; the volume of BL fan content probably has more to do with its longevity and popularity, but the recent live action adaptation certainly boosted the level of fujo output. Fairy Tail was dominated by het; pairings like Natsu x Lucy and Gray x Juvia reigned supreme.

That leaves us with Naruto. I wouldn't be exaggerating by saying that SasuNaru / NaruSasu birthed an entire generation of rotten girls (and maybe even a few gay moids). If you were a fledgling weeb in the 2000s, SNS was probably babby's first M/M ship. That's why SNS is up there with the aforementioned Serge/Gilbert, KawoShin and Griffith/Guts as the most iconic and influential BL ships in the history of fujodom.

Honestly was never into Naruto at all but I loved One Piece yaoi when I was younger and am still into the early content. Was always jealous of how many translated doujins existed for Naruto compared to other series and ships I liked, especially for Uruyuu/Ichigo.
