>it used to be Goku, Naruto, Luffy and Natsuin the big picture, only 1 out of 4 of those are relevant to fujo history. Afaik DBZ isn't popular with fujos; it's enjoyed mainly by dudebros who enjoy mainstream anime. One Piece is also normie anime fan fare; the volume of BL fan content probably has more to do with its longevity and popularity, but the recent live action adaptation certainly boosted the level of fujo output. Fairy Tail was dominated by het; pairings like Natsu x Lucy and Gray x Juvia reigned supreme.
That leaves us with Naruto. I wouldn't be exaggerating by saying that SasuNaru / NaruSasu birthed an entire generation of rotten girls (and maybe even a few gay moids). If you were a fledgling weeb in the 2000s, SNS was probably babby's first M/M ship. That's why SNS is up there with the aforementioned Serge/Gilbert, KawoShin and Griffith/Guts as the most iconic and influential BL ships in the history of fujodom.
