> Decided to order the Anthology and some doujinshi for this. Might scan, but it will take a while till they arrive and I promised to scan some Transformer doujinshi first so it won't be the next month or so I fear. Can't wait! Please share the links somewhere here (the thread definitely won't be locked by then).
> I hope Obari taught the industry a lesson with this, considering that Bravern merch sells like hotcakes. I hope so, but original anime is always risky.
No.3231
>>3230>I hope so, but original anime is always risky. It's true, but I noticed that the few originals that are successful are always the ones that go full out. If they want engagement and money it's no point playing safe, it will only produce another mediocre seasonal show everybody forgets a week after it ends (or before). Everytime one of them becomes a hit it's a series that dared to do something original or raunchy the were too afraid to even think about.
In the end it's always the passionate and/or dedicated series like Bravern, Madoka, KlK or Odd Taxi that blow up, never the ones that play safe.
tl;dr they should learn: either be radical or don't even try. Sadly many think they could make something gay, but abstain from making it TOO gay or original in an attempt of keeping a large, average fanbase instead of pandering to a niche that is big enough to guarantee money.

>>3235>those model kit boxesthat reminds me of a cute detail obari revealed recently on twitter (that people went crazy about) that smith went out and bought a model kit of Isami's rekka mech after their trial fight so that's why you see the kit in his room lol.
No.3237
>>3236he clarified that because someone asked why smith had rekka kit since he called it outdated
the cute thing is that he probably dragged ryoma with him to buy the kit at the shop
No.3238
>>3233Thank you anon, I love the detailed mech designs
Does anybody here like any of the death drives as well? My favorites are Cupiditas and Vanitas. No surprise though. Vanitas is gay and Cupi has a great design and I've never seen an Inada Tetsu character I didn't end up liking kek
The series generally had some good characters. I noticed that most anime that happen to have two guys I like a lot have good side characters as well. For some like the girls it's almost sad that they're part of Bravern where the two mains take up all the screentime, since most anime suffer from a lack of good female characters and here we have at least three. My favorite human male side character is Hal King. Loved that dude.
Can't wait for Obari's next show in 14 years.

interestingly there was a circle doing DD doujin at the august event but no mail order (i guess the content is more alicebooks suited than toranoana)
https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/121784835>>3240if it helps, if they ever make a sequel of some kind they will definitely bring him back because Lulu can't have any other mech (it's the soulmate rule)
No.3242
>>3239>監督作品準備中Holy shit YES please. If it's a whole new series I won't get my hopes up that it will be as gay as Bravern for now but I am happy seeing him involved no matter what it is. His stuff is passionate and I love his humans and the way he draws mecha. They are super sexy. And personally I love upbeat sentient mecha series.
Glad that Bravern merch is still selling so well. Will get the Smith and Isami nendo when they come. I want to have all three of them (including Bravern).
>>3240>>3241Depending on the money I'll have by that time I might get the Superbia figure they announced. Think it was goodsmile as well. I hate that I have money issues right now, otherwise I would have bought the big Bravern too.
>interestingly there was a circle doing DD doujin Thanks didn't see that one yet! Among others I've ordered that one doujinshi that stars Cupi among others. Hope it arrives the next weeks, want to see it and probably scan. TBH I like all DD designs they're all fun and cool albeit in very different ways.
> Ira is also big sexyAgree!

>>3242>>監督作品準備中>Holy shit YES please.Won't get my hopes up, the only thing that make me think is related to bravern is the fact that part of the bio is mia on his account on twitter, and he asked to the people on bsky to not share whatever post he makes there on twitter or other sns
anyway, 4 days for the second anthology release
>https://hon.gakken.jp/book/1960713900i bought the physical from rakuten even before the cover announcement/postcard bonus, but i also want a digital copy but on the site above there are only links to purchase the physical copy
akaboo opened the pages for every -only event for next year, sumiisa, isasumi, sataisa and non-human bravern/isami
and since bravern-only is next month people are starting to release their dj and opening the pre-orders on tora
No.3256
>>3255Honestly I would be happy even if it wasn't Bravern related even though I prefer Bravern. But Obari is good and I trust him, I am sure I will enjoy it a lot regardless of what it is.
Also, there is still the next Super Robot Wars game. I am 100% sure that Bravern will play a bigger role there so I am cautiously hyped. I can generally recommend these games even without Bravern. They are fun as fuck to play, have great music (mecha anime have the highest percentage of fantastic anime songs IMO), cool stories and fan fic tier content of many different mecha related characters someone might like.
>anyway, 4 days for the second anthology release Good that you remind me. Plan on buying both of them digitally if I can.

>>3257no clue what happened with tnb tbh but bandai being an ass with their IPs, even if extremely profitable will be a mystery to me
he could be working on a movie version of bravern, i wouldn't mind, especially how profitable are movies nowadays with the female fanbase, see kitaro's movie.
anyway, wasn't posted here so

>>3258Voted for Buraibaan, Elusive Samurai and Pluto, fuck Idolmaster. I didn't even know that franchise was still relevant.
>>3257They really waited till the TaB hype had completely died down didn't they? That series got tons doujinshi on every damn comiket for almost a decade and they waited till it didn't to produce the second season. Though to be fair there is no way that s2 could come close to s1. Too many subplots and themes in s1 that neatly aligned as the series progressed and some of them were tied to the background of the MCs. They would have to come up with 5 new problems for s2 and this will never work.
Bravern is different because if it had one flaw it's the lack of screentime, so a bunch of plot points and hints from s1 could need some fleshing out and there was still room for additional twist (like everything involving the origin of the Lulus etc.). So a s2 could be perfect here.
No.3261
>>3260>I didn't even know that franchise was still relevantstill super relevant especially for bandai. i like imas but the anime adaptations were always so lame, except for the first og imas and sidem
bravern's production went pretty well in comparison to recent mecha.
to me the only flaw was the last episode not being split in two parts, that would had give more time to breath
but even in the side-content, like the lulu spin-off there is not much explanation but added more mysteries.
i really liked how it capitalized on smith=bravern post death, how his soul is still in bravern's core (which is definitely what helped lulu to be sent to the right timeline).
there is a lot of room to explore, i still remember obari mentioning how he wanted to go to space with bravern, so who knows lol

Probably not the best because it could had more introspection on Smith's side but it's clear that Smith feels insecure about his lack of powers and his identity and Isami feels lonely without Smith (and Lulu) and when he reunite with Bravern, knowing that Smith didn't know he could transform or not, they fuse together.
