The last good place to discuss niche seasonal anime will die a slow death. I meant 4chan's /a/. Sad.
https://boards.4chan.org/a/thread/272330934Do you know of any other fairly active chans where you discuss lesser know anime&manga titles?

>>6687You're not wrong. The best threads I've personally experienced are those for anime that won't immediately attract a horde of waifufags like your average isekai title or something like oshi no ko will but often times they'll just be dead instead. I guess I'm like a battered wife at this point. I will say that right now I'm grateful to the handful of Thunderbolt fantasy fans on /a/ who are providing subs for the show now that there's nothing official coming out.

I lurk some altchans but don't find their communities inviting enough to set up camp there. Right now fujochan is leagues ahead of any other alternative. I wish it was a little faster but it is comfy and on (or at least around) topic 99% of the time.

The standards went to shit though, that's true. But there are no alternatives IMO. I love FC, but it's a miracle if you find a single user who is into the same series as you here due to how slow it is, social media is shit and I don't like discord. Even the few decent discord groups I found aren't good for discussions. After a while it always dies down and you have the same three users posting their same three opinions and again, even within the same fandom they never like the same characters I like.
An open place is always better since it has a wider reach and everybody can lurk or join. But every altchan but FC I have seen so far is an incel and/or /pol/-ridden shithole lol
>>6688This. It's ALWAYS men-centered anime that have the good threads. Or anime with anti-waifu styles like Odd Taxi (non-sexualized kemono characters) or more "realistic" looking seinen adaptions. The rest is utter garbage and it shows that the central problem of the anime community are waifu fags and male yuri fanatics, not anybody else. Though I also witness horrible threads thanks to shota fags, so add them to the pile. I am not sure if they are female or male though but I assume male, since women usually ship the shota with other characters instead of posting pedo fantasies.

>>6687>Better altchansAside from this site, are there any chans that are worth it?
It seems that infighting, shitflinging, and unsavoury ideologues are rampant on other chans. Of course, not that 4chan is absent from these problems, but at least its popularity allows for more community subsections that make it easier to have conversations that don't involve that.

>>6699IME not really. I've been through 2 dead ones (late.city, anon.cafe) and currently poke around crystalcafe, heyuri, lainchan, tohno-chan, trashchan (current home of what remains of late), and zzzchan. They are all firmly "okay" with varying degrees of lolicon/poltard edginess, about half of which just comes off as LARPing as a classic /b/tard. I think if they ever did end up getting more traffic they would also become unusable without some kind of 24/7 benevolent dictator mod to keep stuff on rails. There are also pockets of anons there who simply have "hating women/minorities" as their personality and it becomes tiresome to share air with those kinds of people (why I stopped browsing most of my favorite boards).

>>6708>Isn't pic-dumping /cm/'s raison d'être ?Yeah but it shouldn't prevent people from talking while posting. Threads are better if users do both IMO at the same time.
Image dumping boards have lost some of their appeal since art became so easily available since everybody uploaded it on the same places. Back in the early 00s when you had to go on a gold digging hunt and check hundreds of hidden Angelfire fan shrines it was more useful to dump all of the findings at one place. Nowadays /cm/ is more of a way to talk and artpost about your favorite fujo series that wouldn't get a lively thread on /a/.

>>6720Call me shizo but I also believe that there are more men posting there because everytime I like a series with a trap or shota the threads are especially bad and full of image dumpers that are too retarded to talk because all they care about is cooming and male 4channers are almost always into traps and shota. It's strangely always the fans of the typical fujo characters that talk because they have so much to say about the series.
Reminds me of a dude from some transformer threads that told us that women were the only fans he enjoyed talking with online because they talk about the story and characters and make up fan theories whereas most of the male fans just want to see PEW PEW and shitty crossovers. I cannot even fathom ever liking anime or cartoons for such superficial reasons.
No.6724
>>6723Yes, you can tell right away because they post their IRL pedo fantasies about wanting to fuck little boys or be a little boy who gets fucked. It's like the anon upthread said, they are male yumes, not fudans. Impossible to talk to.
No.6725
>>6724>they are male yumes, not fudans. Impossible to talk to.Oh this is a good term. Yes exactly. They never ship, it's always about wanting to rape the little cute shota or being the shota (but only if he gets molested by a big titty girl). These series usually have tons of good shipping art involving the shota but they're allergic against that since they still hate gay shit, they just want to fuck a shota but only if he looks feminine enough to pass as cute girl, they don't even like the boyish shota, which are the ones fujos seem to prefer. Since I am usually into the grown men I often feel the urge to dump a bunch of openly gay adult/adult pics to chase the gay haters off. It's so obvious when a guy is posting vs when it's a woman it's not even funny (and the gay posts usually help chasing them away for a few days or hours).
No.6727

>>6888Think it depends on the threads. I am fine with that nonna that mentioned it in the Bravern thread because Bravern fans are chill and love to discuss their series and I am sure that there isn't a single man among the fans because the characters and setting is so masculine it filters all trap fags and the likes.
There are other series I sperg over on /cm/ where I wouldn't want anybody to post it because half of the users are annoying, most likely male and apparently low IQ shota coomers or people who are just really strange and probably not used using image boards so I don't want them here, it's bad enough that they have found out about /cm/.

>>9245>similar in vibe to Hatoful BoyfriendIt's hard to find anything similar to Hatoful Boyfriend, but that's one of my favorite VNs. I guess it depends on what you liked about Hatoful Boyfriend, but I'd suggest looking into the following:
>Hashihime of the Old Book Town- Doesn't really have the same tone as Hatoful, but if you liked the mystery plot of the bird game's secret route, this one is also heavily focused on mysteries. It also kind of does the whole changing up genres thing that Hatoful Boyfriend also did. The protagonist is kind of schizo, which can either be a positive or a negative depending on your preferences. There are also a crazy high number of CGs, and the overall story is very interesting.>Tokyo Onmyoji- Less popular BL game with a good variation in routes. It kind of has a more fantastical-but-grounded setting like Hatoful Boyfriend. The bad endings are a lot less edgy than the games made by Parade and Nitro+Chiral, but there are still enough interesting turns to the plot that it feels satisfying.>No, Thank You!!!- This is a more hesitant recommendation just because it's pretty divisive on here. I thought it was pretty good. It's not the best I've ever read, but it probably has the most comedic tone of any BL game I've encountered, it has a mystery story, and it also kind of switches genres at one point, so I'm mostly recommending it because of the Hatoful Boyfriend thing. It's worth trying if you're not immediately repelled by how ugly the boys are.I'm sorry if these aren't what you're wanting. I'm sure another anon could also help you.

Never really thought about Chihiro and his swords but I guess people do sometimes call them the "true heroines" for a reason! As for crackships, me personally I really like Samura and Ro. No fixed position. Blessed with the rare shotajiji you know damn well I'll seize the moment to ship him with someone. And it's especially tasty with Ro's duty to be a submissive ninja servant, along with Samura feeling immense self-loathing for falling for someone who he perceives as young and feels like he's taking advantage of.

>>9336I fully buy that Shiba is gay. It just makes sense. I normally don't care but I'd be a little miffed if he ever shows interest in a woman lol. He's too old to be so hot and still single. Him and Kunishige just makes sense, I mean c'mon. I do like ChihiShiba though because it's funny to imagine Kunishige's disappointment over his best friend hooking up with his orphan son kek. I also like a lot of artwork with Hakuri and Soya even if I'm ambivalent about the pairing itself, if Soya comes back though I will absolutely jump aboard Soya/Haku.
>Samura and RoI thought I was alone on this, Ro is surprisingly handsome and he has the most characterization of all the Masumi. And yet, no ship art or shipfic? Are people just scared of backlash? He's an adult.
I don't really have an explanation for why I like Chihiro with his swords because I've never shipped something like that before. I'm anthropomorphizing the swords hard though, it genuinely makes me mad when I see some braindead xitter shitter insulting them like saying Enten is boring or calling Kuregumo a whore or now the jokes about Kumeyuri being 'the rape sword'. I wish there was actual ship content but I can't really complain about the lack when I'm too embarrassed to make any myself. I only admit this here.
Do you think there would be enough interest for a KGB thread here?

But I'm also cautious because: shonen + the sins of the fathers messaging + how much of a westaboo Takeru is I'm beginning to think one of the tropes he got from John Wick is the dead wife flashbacks. I thought Samura was single as well but bam daughter reveal. In retrospect yes there were signs but still it was a jumpscare. I'm just hoping for more fujobait moments and like maybe no canon ships between the adults because every man is dead satosugu style lol.
>no ship art or shipfic? Are people just scared of backlash? He's an adult.I've seen a few xitter people thirsting after him so no backlash right now (though I won't be surprised in the future). It's just Chihiro being too much of a fandom bicycle. Plus the Masumi is a team so it's hard to separate them for solo ship art. But I did find some crumbs along the way.
Also I encourage you to make some of that content. Maybe upload it on pixiv or ao3 so I can quietly support you if you don't want your identity to be too noticeable. I enjoy how passionate you are about it and would love to see it in action.

Though I already had the shota problem on /cm/ and /a/ and everything else was dead, especially /cm/, save for Bravern and Mouthwashing maybe.
My only hope is that enough fujos on 4chan knew about FC but refused to use it for its slowness but will give in now that 4chan is dead and the dumb jannies exposed.

But there's a point where the latter of the argument becomes the topic and never really swerves back. tfconfessions on tumblr went from confessions to "if you like x you must be y" repeated over and over. Anons there may as well argue on an image board for how much space they take up.
