This is really bad Internet hygiene though. I always clear cookies after each session or run private windows. Even when I DON'T close the browser, the timer re-appears out of nowhere. Anti-spam my ass. Spammers will simply use email verification - something which I will never do. It seems Hiro decided to finally get rid of 4chan.

The site has been dead for almost 10 years and every few months I hear about how the killing blow has finally been delt.

I didn't know why everyone was still using it after recaptcha was added and I don't know why you'd still be using it now since the userbase appears to have a medium age of 17.

Hopefully their newest fuck-up encourages the few good posters disapate to better altchans.

The best threads I've personally experienced are those for anime that won't immediately attract a horde of waifufags like your average isekai title or something like oshi no ko will but often times they'll just be dead instead. I guess I'm like a battered wife at this point. I will say that right now I'm grateful to the handful of Thunderbolt fantasy fans on /a/ who are providing subs for the show now that there's nothing official coming out.

I lurk some altchans but don't find their communities inviting enough to set up camp there. Right now fujochan is leagues ahead of any other alternative. I wish it was a little faster but it is comfy and on (or at least around) topic 99% of the time.

The standards went to shit though, that's true. But there are no alternatives IMO. I love FC, but it's a miracle if you find a single user who is into the same series as you here due to how slow it is, social media is shit and I don't like discord. Even the few decent discord groups I found aren't good for discussions. After a while it always dies down and you have the same three users posting their same three opinions and again, even within the same fandom they never like the same characters I like.
An open place is always better since it has a wider reach and everybody can lurk or join. But every altchan but FC I have seen so far is an incel and/or /pol/-ridden shithole lol

It seems that infighting, shitflinging, and unsavoury ideologues are rampant on other chans. Of course, not that 4chan is absent from these problems, but at least its popularity allows for more community subsections that make it easier to have conversations that don't involve that.

IME not really. I've been through 2 dead ones (late.city, anon.cafe) and currently poke around crystalcafe, heyuri, lainchan, tohno-chan, trashchan (current home of what remains of late), and zzzchan. They are all firmly "okay" with varying degrees of lolicon/poltard edginess, about half of which just comes off as LARPing as a classic /b/tard. I think if they ever did end up getting more traffic they would also become unusable without some kind of 24/7 benevolent dictator mod to keep stuff on rails. There are also pockets of anons there who simply have "hating women/minorities" as their personality and it becomes tiresome to share air with those kinds of people (why I stopped browsing most of my favorite boards).

Fujochan is my dream imageboard, it just needs a bigger userbase. ♡＼(￣▽￣)／♡

Yeah but it shouldn't prevent people from talking while posting. Threads are better if users do both IMO at the same time.
Image dumping boards have lost some of their appeal since art became so easily available since everybody uploaded it on the same places. Back in the early 00s when you had to go on a gold digging hunt and check hundreds of hidden Angelfire fan shrines it was more useful to dump all of the findings at one place. Nowadays /cm/ is more of a way to talk and artpost about your favorite fujo series that wouldn't get a lively thread on /a/.

Call me shizo but I also believe that there are more men posting there because everytime I like a series with a trap or shota the threads are especially bad and full of image dumpers that are too retarded to talk because all they care about is cooming and male 4channers are almost always into traps and shota. It's strangely always the fans of the typical fujo characters that talk because they have so much to say about the series.

Oh this is a good term. Yes exactly. They never ship, it's always about wanting to rape the little cute shota or being the shota (but only if he gets molested by a big titty girl). These series usually have tons of good shipping art involving the shota but they're allergic against that since they still hate gay shit, they just want to fuck a shota but only if he looks feminine enough to pass as cute girl, they don't even like the boyish shota, which are the ones fujos seem to prefer. Since I am usually into the grown men I often feel the urge to dump a bunch of openly gay adult/adult pics to chase the gay haters off. It's so obvious when a guy is posting vs when it's a woman it's not even funny (and the gay posts usually help chasing them away for a few days or hours).

Just to warn fellow fujo that most image boards (that are not 100% porn, because gooners don't care either way) are either run by trannies/pro-tranny or the opposite - they are anti-tranny, but pro-Nazi/far-right. Unfortunately, the trannies/tranny-lovers tend to gravitate towards anime/weeb interests, rather than sports, so the pool of acceptable 4chan alternatives is quite small.

Both extremes need alternative chans for obvious reasons (the fact that they are extremes). 4chan is tolerable because it has enough users for any element to be diluted by semi-normies. I'd probably use any similarly huge site no matter what it was made for as long as the tone isn't controlled by 15 people sitting in the same off-topic thread.

Beyond annoyed. I use two different devices and I'm always hitting the 900s limit. Even with email verified. I'm saving a ton of time by not following dozens of threads but I enjoy reading replies and others would also be less inclined to talk now.

I've gone back and forth on this in my head and while there could be downsides to it, the whole reason why I found out about this site was cause it was namedropped in a /blog/ thread in /jp/ so for all I know there could be people like me on /cm/ too who would like this place if they knew.
