When it's not macho they also have a tendency to make them look sloppy stupid, like Larry Butz style idiots. I think the reason I'm drawn so much to Korean series, not even BL but the series where characters are set up like ships but aren't canon, is because art will beeline to making at least one or both guys broad and muscular with a pretty face. I didn't used to think of myself as obsessed with pecs before but now I fantasize about a pair who can press them together while bickering or just press into the other's back when embracing and stuff. I always did like saving art of old school mecha characters because they'd have various muscular builds, from broad shouldered, slim waist with thick thighs to all round built but with a ponytail or something. These days I feel like I'm closer to getting art of what I really desire, only to always find something's missing or the artist gets too silly with the proportions and I can't take it seriously. Like bruh their height difference is four inches not three foot, his hand did not evolve to snatch the entire waist in one. Make him squishable and chunky but stop using the local bakery's loaves pan to paint on abs that reach down to his pubes.
