>>4172The design of the vampire is really cute but I feel like I'm probably going to ship him with the hunky white haired man instead of the mc, I didn't actually know this was gonna be a bl so that's a nice surprise
No.4415
>>4229I just watched it. Given has never been a top favourite of mine but it's all right. It's one of those BL where I find the side couples more interesting than the main one.
No.4416
>>4415I've never seen any of them because it's always looked too "teenage" for me. Was the movie good any qould you rec any of them?
No.4417
>>4416Given is basically a slice of life series about guys in a band. It revolves around how they deal with their emotional baggage and how that baggage affects their interpersonal relationships. It's not groundbreaking but you can try it out if the premise sounds interesting to you. For some reason after starting out as an anime season the rest has been getting adapted into movies.
No.4418
>>4417So are all of them gay or is it just one main couple? The band angle is probably the most interesting part of that summary. BL K-on lol.
No.4419
>>4418Everyone in the band is gay
No.4531
>>4530Because capitalism. This one is garbage anyway though because the author is a traitor.
No.4533
>>3998Should just have a category like 'soft BL' for those shows with some implied subtext and no main straight relationships that have a strong fujo following
No.4534
>>4533We shouldn't for the simple reason that companies that don't go full BL because they're under the delusion that they'll somehow appeal to the mainstream audience are cowards. Like, what exactly is stopping SK8 from being a sports BL? The show already telegraphs the hell out of the ships, nobody except fujos is watching it.
Same with shit like Fairy Ranmaru.
No.4535
>>4534Apologies for getting into repeat venting territory here but it's one of those things where it annoys me that for BL there has to be all this tiptoeing around the subject while that doesn't have to happen for yuri.
No.4536
>>4534Well I meant for our own use, not officially.
>>4535I agree with this sentiment. Its beyond irritating.
No.4537
>>4533We have the category 'fujobait', does anyone remember this… Black Butler falls under it, as does Free and Prince of Tennis.
Part of the fun to me is to imagine a ship and write fic, I honestly prefer fujobait most of the time, since the plot leaves room to imagine stuff, to write fanfic and draw fanart. I don't feel that compulsion, nor that fun, when I'm watching canon BL. Unless it's something so far up my alley that it's not even funny, like Bravern (Which honestly feels more bara than BL to me), but those shows are very, very rare.
No.4538
>>4419Except Akihiko who is a filthy bisexual
No.4539
>>4537Oh yeah its used plenty, but to me it would be like a category beneath it. Because fujobait will apply to characters involved in straight romances and such.
Like Golden Kamuy has fujobait but its still mostly straight. Whereas something like Banana Fish is basically a BL despite not having the official category and some people denying its BL, so itd be like 'soft BL'.
No.4540
>>4539I'd say the Kamuy anime has fujobait, but isn't fujobait as a genre, if that makes sense? While Banana Fish is fujobait as in, the genre. But at this point, we're splitting hairs, I might just be an oldfag ^^;;;
No.4541
>>4540I see. It might just be that I have developed negative connotations of the term 'fujobait', as in something that can have appeal to fujo sprinkled in, but its not geared toward fujos so it can be a mixed bag. Especially when used in shounen.
But thinking about it, I guess I would consider Samurai Flamenco something like fujobait without it being negative.
No.4547
>>4546Will this get the nu-Black Butler fatherson dynamic denial treatment or will it just cause an insane amount of asshurt? I have my popcorn ready.
No.4548
>>4547I've already seen a bunch of male shotacons wildly misunderstanding the dynamic because they can't grasp sexualizing an older teen. None of them knew what the name order in the title meant.
No.4549
>>4547I remember when it was first showcased that people were "horrified" at how straight to the point the title was. I don't think you can scare people off more easily by having the word "shota" straight up.
I think people thought the older guy was gonna be the top though, despite it being clearly backwards.
I hope this brings up more top shota fujos No.4550
>>4547I’ve already seen people in comments of manga sites be in denial over it being an overt shotacon manga simply because it’s not nsfw.

>>4548Men are neanderthals, how are you into gay anime porn and never encountered name order.
No.4555
>>4553I've met a number of women who don't know either, but they always come from video game or western fandoms and have only consumed ships through AO3 where name order isn't used. The guys are funny though because they're so fixated on 1st person lewding the little boy they completely forget that a couple involves two people.
No.4556
>>4553To be honest I didn't associate the title with a shipping order either. I know that of course but I don't care about shota so I never heard the term OniShota. Thought the oni was just referring the shota. Like a shota that is an evil oni. I assume it stems from oniisan though. Maybe.

>>4795Bit misleading to post the covers of novels 19 and 20, His Majesty's appearance is going to be a rare treat in what the anime might manage to cover. Could be considered a spoiler but I'll bet with how rushed anime adaptations go these days they'll probably reach his scenes by the half way point.
>>4796From what they've posted so far Lizel (milk tea hair)'s got a bit of wonky wandering eyes going on and Gil (black hair) is a victim of loong face that might ruin the designs. I wasn't expecting the most amazing animation but it's a very slow series with lots of talking, so you would hope they'd have the faces static but consistent.
