Ruka's route is a fucking crime imagine making his entire motivation thats he's so fucking gay he wishes he was a girl so that Okabe would love him and then magicing away his problem by turning him into a woman in a parallel universe. Wtf is that messaging and what a limp wrosted way of solving a characters internal struggle.

Great VN sad it doesn't have an actual gay route.

I used to really like trap characters in high school especially the concept of a man being effectively tricked into being gay and having a little panic over that before accepting he does love the guy. Unfortunately I've come to realize almost all these characters do have a very male fanbase who is only interest in porn, very sad. The characters are still cute imo, especially if they are unambiguously male in design (no hips/curves), but it feels like walking through a minefield to find art for them.

What draws you guys to these characters is it just a coincidence or if a trap is in the show do you instantly like him?

nothing pisses me off more than having a trap route just to involve magic or time travel bullshit to make a homo character/ship straight, like i've never seen lewd fanart of Ruka or Jun from Happiness as a girl and the appeal of the character is that they're not really a girl, the whole gimmick with Ruka is that they're the ideal "woman" but they're a guy, having the gay route not be gay at all is such a cop out

This is the entire appeal. The fact that this particular way of handling these characters is so rare is SUCH a shame.

I like the teasing aspect of traps. And they are also cute. Bonus points for being voiced by a male seiyuu, like Rui Ninomiya or Fisheye.

I'm drawn to cuteness and soft feminine features but since these characters are still guys they have a different vibe than your average uguu moe girl or loli and they're going to be written differently too. I also dig the idea of a different male character going through a gay panic due to meeting a trap.

When it comes to Felix, people always pair him with Subaru in a really shallow sort of way and treat him as a generic shallow trap (no offense), but I wish there was more discussion of him in a more serious light.
Canonically, his main love interest is definitely Crusch, but there is something there about his feeling with Fourier, (crown prince that died before the story from a mysterious disease that wiped out the entire royal family despite Felix doing everything he could to save him) and I think you can do something a bit more in character with his passive aggressive relationship with Subaru, he doesn't like him because Subaru is so weak and reckless, but still mans up and becomes a knight, something Felix completely gave up on for himself because his puberty was stunted from neglect and abuse. It's also mentioned by Crusch that Subaru is similar to Fourier in attitude and that maybe that's one way why Felix doesn't like him.
It feels like such a waste, especially with the IF Pride route where he gets mindbroken after the erasure of Crusch and (evil) Subaru ends up convincing him that the hole where the person he loved and worshipped was him all along. Nobody does anything with that, I don't know why.
