>>9902I'm quite intrigued but according to the most prominent review the english translation is pretty rough right now and it's going to be redone in the future so I'll wait and see.

>>9926for me i like seeing vulnerability and emotional instability expressed in a self-directed and (imho) “feminine” way. this explanation may fall on the yume side of things, but i think a lot of women like the idea of an angsty and tormented guy who’s not dangerous to them, as in he’d rather harm himself than lash out at others (which is so common irl). and for fujo stuff of course, you get the drama of the love interest finding out, caretaking, cheesy scar-kissing and “promise you’ll stop for me” scenes, etc. there’s a lot to enjoy.
i’m also a gurofag and just like the aesthetic of it all. it’s sexy tbh. No.9936
A while back I mentioned there's a JP artist whose older works I enjoyed but recently she's become obsessed with male lactation fetish which was disappointing but I still stuck around in case I wanted to look at her older stuff again. She retweeted something based on twitter so while I don't share the fetish I'll also keep following just out of respect now.

>>9933Socks are part of the suit/salaryman fetish, how dare they. And who the hell wants to touch an office floor or desk with their bare feet? (My own yaoi pet peeve is bare feet because they're fucking ugly. I don't want the characters to suddenly get naked, especially if it's a setting like public work sex, clothes staying on is the appeal, goddamnit)

>>9948>>9949I don't mean to sound high and mighty, but I hate the "ugly man" idea because a character is more than just a design. Billfip is vetter than Standcest though lol.
No.9952
>>9949I know what you mean. I always shake my head when I see women proudly bragging, saying things like "unlike men, when I say 'hear me out', I really mean it!". It just shows that they've been forcefed a diet of ugly men in media since birth. It's to the point where if a show even flirts with the idea of having twinks in it the audience is filled with rage at the mere concept (see: Hazbin Hotel).

>>9952Is it that much different from the responses people have to bishounen casts these days? I'm with
>>9951, that I've seen people shit on both ugly and pretty boy characters for the designs alone without considering the actual character. I don't think anyone would argue Stan isn't one of the main appeals of his show because of his personality and the humor of his dialogue. The shipping and old man thirst happened way into the series when he was firmly established and expanded upon. If you asked me, the triangle is way uglier because there's plenty of times I can't stand him, which makes it harder to overlook the western cartoon style features.
No.9956
>>9955It's funny you posted Kevedd because I've never gotten that ship at all. They barely interact in any interesting way, and I've always assumed it was people who like Edd but are too afraid to ship Edd/Eddy because Eddy is "ugly," even though there are a ton of shippy moments for the two, especially in the later seasons. The artist you posted is GOAT though, and I love her Johnny Bravo/Samurai Jack art.
There is definitely a strong opposition to traditionally cute bishie boys, mostly by men afraid of gay shit invading their shows, but I think assuming women who like "ugly" men are attention seekers or doing it for some invisible brownie points is a bit condescending and holds fans to a weird standard when we all accept that if you give a literal circle a female voice, men will want to fuck her, and you wouldn't label that attention-seeking. There are tons of reasons to like a character, on-model or off. Stanford fans probably like the nerd with a tragic backstory angle; it's not that deep or weird.
No.9963
>>9956>but are too afraid to ship Edd/Eddy because Eddy is "ugly," I don't get this, everyone on that show is ugly.
No.9965
>>9963But if you draw off-model fanart one of them is way easier to turn "cute." I disagree though, Double D is cute even on-model.
>>9962Yeah I guess you're right, there always will be people who ship the same character types every show regardless.

Adulthood sucks, I hate the constant need to retake the the same training courses ever year. I also hate that for my profession you need so many education credits to maintain a license, I've already earned the degree, fuck off with that shit.
>>9972Do you ship him with his brother?
No.9976
>>9975Yeah Kenai should be fucked by the middle brother (in human form obvs). Brother Bear 2 doesn't exist.
I wonder what profession you have nona. Adult life does suck. Our parents and grandparents and great-grandparents didn't have to deal with all of the certification and degree shit we do today kek

>>9976I haven't seen the second one but based on Disney sequel track records I'm sure it's not great. haha.
I'm a teacher, elementary to be specific though right now despite having a license I just do long-term subbing. I like living in a time period where so much knowledge and entertainment is at my fingertips, but I feel stupid since the sheer amount of paperwork and clerical tasks are overwhelming and I know 150 years ago it wouldn't be nearly as much to handle.

I wish ship bashing/character bashing was more tolerated or at least that people can say they don't like something and why without people having to act offended over it. Maybe it's the fandom I'm in where NOBODY can say anything bad ever, everything has to be uwu positive and you can't even imply you don't like something. Even censoring ship name doesn't work, and you'll sometimes have idiots trying to search for every excuse to go "lmao imagine hating x".
Idk, sometimes I do like to talk about why I don't like something. If it's for me and my friends I don't see an issue as to why somebody has to come at me with "uhm akshually x is goated and peak" or "let's not spread toxicity, everyone!!!" nah fuck off
No.10007
>>10006This is why I appreciate Harry Potter and Miraculous Ladybug fandom for having character bashing be sorta normal and not completely looked down upon. Sometimes I really just wanna read about a character I don't like being an absolute asshole. It also opens up for some interesting fanfic conflicts imo. Because while the asshole character can be an oc, making them an actual canon character usually gives them way more relevance to the fanfic plot because the author doesn't tend to drop them until they've been satisfied by the bashing.
No.10008
>>10006As long as you tag it and don't leave ship/character bashing in their tags, it shouldn't be an issue. People like to hatewatch or listen to negative reviews of something they hate kek. Most bashing is funny and therapeutic if you have to put up with an annoying character. Bashing can be funny even if you are neutral or like a character too kek, maybe I just have a weird sense of humor.

We teach fujos to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller. We say to fujos, you can have yaoi, but not too much. You should aim to be creative, but not too creative. Otherwise, you would threaten the man. Because I am a fujo, I am expected to cater to everyone. I am expected to make fan content always keeping in mind that canon is the most important. Now canon can be a source of joy and love but why do we teach fujos to think they are delusional fangirls and we don’t teach boys the same? We raise fujos to see each other as homophobes and fetishisers. We teach fujos that they cannot be sexual beings in the way that boys are.

I took the bullet blocked a site I won't name. Somehow I'm slowly feel better but feel like it's only a bandaid for larger issue with female spaces. I'm tired of all the moralizing over sex over there and how it feels like every user there seems to hate sex whether fictional or not.

It saddens me when women who enjoy playing eroges and other vns made for men refuse to even touch a bl vn because anything pandering to women is automatically assumed to be of lower quality.

Liking A/B for so long the out of nowhere preferring B/A and not being able to look at A/B anymore is such a strange feeling. Even worse when B/A is the unpopular dynamic. Oh well…
