I've been watching some old kids' shows that I used to rewatch endlessly when I was like five, and I'm coming to terms with the fact my childhood memory of these always put the guys in pairs or considered them special combinations. I wouldn't really know about anime until Princess Mononoke was out on VHS, and I didn't have internet access until I was 8-10, so this was just me. Wonder how it happens, or did my brain revise itself when I reached back for the memories?

Also Luka's route will never not make me mad. What a cop-out.

>>9782Lol, I've tried to get into that series so many times over the yesrs and I didn't even get far enough to realize it was about time travel.

>>9783It's a clusterfuck. I liked reading it as it released but I can't rightly recommend it to anybody in the year of our lord 2025.
No.9787
>>9784Yeah, I was into it during the 2010s and I feel like being active in the community while it was still ongoing played a massive part in my enjoyment. Though I do still think it's very cool from an artistic perspective, the way it blends in multimedia elements like the animations and the flash game segments and hussie's art can be pretty good in general.
No.9788
>>9787>very cool from an artistic perspectiveIt remains unmatched in this IMO. I think I said this in the /wes/ thread a while ago but what continually floors me is that there was a lot of fan MUSIC (that I still listen to!).
No.9789
>>9783Got into it back then (2014-2019) and it was fun. I still listen to some of its music and I guess 16y old me would be very happy that her gay ship is canon. Well, I guess that makes davekat my first ever ship to go canon, I remember when it was a crackship no one took seriously…well, they suffer from a lot of bad writting later on so I guess that's the price I had to pay

Mind you it really isn't worth it anymore since the Site is fucking broken. You COULD watching "Let's read Homestuck" or Watch The Homestuck recap on YT. On the of chance you download the the unofficial collection, stop reading by act 6
No.9796
>>9793I never got to the trolls, I don't think I've ever made it past act 3. Every time I try the whole thing feels weird and I'm left with an "I just don't get it feeling" like the humor just goes over my head. I appreciate the multimedia presentation, but I've long decided it's not for me.
Re:Site Being broken. On my, perhaps final attempt to get into it, I had to download "The Unofficial Homestuck Collection" because of this. Insane that Viz or whoever owns the rights now no longer upkeeps it.

Anyone else notice that the shipping wikia is weirdly homophobic, if a BL ship is canon (like Kawoshin) they put it as “semi canon” and if it’s one sided then they put it as fanon.
No.9799
>>9797>>9798I don't know what metrics shipping wiki uses to determine canon or non-canon but kawoshin isn't canon by mere fact that it wasn't shinji's final pair, no? Canonicity is taken into consideration as in "they ended up together in the end" most of the time
No.9800
>>9799See I'd disagree with that because to me canon just means that the characters have a confirmed attraction to each other. If I see "semi-canon" I'd assume it's one-sided pining, again though it's not a site I use so I guess I find the terminology strange.
The paragraph I posted is still BS though.
No.9811
>>9810I've been feeling like a fraud myself cause I've gotten obsessed with a villainess from the MMO I've been playing and made her my OC's second partner so now I've been retweeting art comms of my boy with a woman alongside the BL ship I originally put him in. I do still prefer BL but I might've jumpscared some people who were expecting BL only retweets from me, lmao.
No.9813
>>9810i feel like a fraud fujo too sometimes because i barely read actual BL, though read plenty of doujin and fanfics for m/m pairings and tend to strongly prefer them over het and f/f. my top 3 ships are m/m and i make fan content for them too and bond over them in fandoms etc.
but, i like many m/f pairings and some f/f too, i enjoy moe stuff, anime girls, lolis lmao, and plenty of other 'male gaze' bullshit that i sometimes find annoying but at times also like, not necessarily in a sexual way though it can happen, and i dont have a one track mind for BL only. ultimately i think that there is no wrong way to be a fujo and as long as you like gay stuff you'd classify as one, probably
No.9814
is watching irl gay porn as a woman enough to be considered a fujo, assuming one lacks any other fujo and fujo adjacent interest and emotional investment?
No.9815
>>9811Hey it's fine but I wish I had to balls to risk it lol.
>>9814Gay porn was what made me realized I like m/m kek, you're fine. Slash fiction was cut from the same cloth despite being a western thing.
No.9816
>>9814i would say no. it can be what prompts someone to become a fujo later on, but if it stops there, a woman that watches gay porn and doesnt engage with m/m in any other way is as much of a fujoshi as a straight male who watches lesbian porn is a himedanshi
No.9817
>>9814Not a direct answer to your question but I don't have any fujo friends that watch irl gay porn. I don't like bringing it up because I'm told it's disgusting or exploitative.
No.9818
>>9816Agree, I think part of fujoshism comes from the romantic build up and character dynamics be they original works or fandom. IRL gay porn that I've seen doesn't have that. Now if someone exclusively read gay pulp novels aimed at men I would consider them a fujo even though that's western and they'd basically be a fujo that dabbles in bara.
>>9817Admittedly I find it disgusting, but I find all 3DPD porn gross.
No.9820
so my country wants to outlaw porn and now I'm wondering if this is gonna affect how I write and make content?
No.9821
>>9817>>9818I don't like the look of western porn actors but I've seen some cute asian guys going at it who can pull off twink cosplays. I'm not interested enough to buy their content, though.
No.9822
>>9820Would have to know more about your country and what the proposal actually says, my take is USA-centric. Personally I think it will just be used to label LGBTQ stuff as "pornographic" and censor it for minors rather than outright banning what most people think of as porn (depiction of people fuckin). If you are really worried start following some furries in your country and see what plans they are making. They have the biggest overlap of perverts and tech literate out of all "fandom" demographics.
No.9823
>>9820Is it a creation ban, a commercial ban, or a distribution ban? Are you okay having it for personal use if you aren't sharing it? You could use a VPN when uploading pornographic fics, so that it's not visibly coming from you. Access is more of a pain, but fandom sites are less likely to be targeted in blocks because the authorities just don't know about them. They aim at the big porn streaming sites and paid services.

my fault for not cheking the word count. Thanks for the buttsex i guess but why post fanart ONLY on ao3 of all places
No.9828
>>9824Maybe it's because I mostly follow BL/male character focused artists but I've only seen one piece of fanart of her so far in the time that her arc concluded so I feel like I gotta be her strongest champion. Her character archetype probably doesn't appeal to everybody but she's a goofy chuuni anarchist so I fell for her completely. There's another new patch content character from FFXIV recently I've gotten obsessed with as well but he's gotten real popular especially around the artists I follow so he doesn't need my help.

>>9723im not a BTS fan let alone a BTS fujo, but they all look very different from one another facially? and in real life shipping, especially in industries where a certain aesthetic is a requirement making people have similar body types, top/bottom dynamics are dictated mainly by their stage personalities. media shipping functions like this too pretty often no?

Sometimes I'll look at a video essay in my recommended tab on youtube even if it's not something I'm familiar with because it sounds interesting. Today I noticed a video about the Harley quinn and Poison ivy ship I only vaguely heard about in the past and it really sounds like a cautionary tale of how recklessly pandering to your fanbase can lead to really bad writing choices.

No.9844
>>9841I thought harley/ivy was cute, but after hacks got a whole of their relationship, it's been going down hill for years. I sometimes wished it was kept as a bruce timm kink than an actual ship that somehow ruins both characters.

>>9844I don't have strong feelings on it personally, but if they're letting fetishes in then can Sladick and Brudick be canon pls.
