>>12891I thought about this post because I just got a youtube recommendation for a tif-made 1 hour long video that analyses Helluva boss' treatment of female characters. With this subgroup it really gives off the impression that they're just trying to escape from misogyny.

A coworker I get along with invited me to hang out today and she had a bunch of anime posters in her room. We got talking and it turned out she was a massive fujo, enough to even humble me!
She showed me her collection and she had a massive amount of physical BL, including a bunch that were in the original Japanese. We shared recs and it turned out she had the exact same tastes and she wasn't at all put off by the more extreme stuff and even had a bunch to recommend of her own.
Nonnies! I'm so happy! I've never in my life met another fujo in person! It was always something I was really embarrassed of and had to either hide or discuss solely on the internet. It's really exciting to have someone I can finally talk to about it irl!

I went to the bookstore today that has the biggest BL manga section in my city because I was looking for something specific. Several young women were taking the entire space somehow with their big coats and backpacks and giving each other recommendations and I thought well, it must be one employee being asked questions by costumers so I'll just wait until they're done. Not only did they not shut the fuck up, they also didn't move and it turned out there wasn't any employee in the group. It was just random women preventing me from checking if the book I wanted was there and screaming about how older BL books are problematic because of the lack of consent but they're so happy that more recent manga aren't like that and about how they love meeting other fujoshi during anime cons, like bitch move out of the way you're 6 or 7 people in a tiny corner. I'll come back next week to get what I want and another BL manga that will be released on friday. I don't like meeting random fujoshi in the wild these days, I never know if they're normal or if they're weird tumblrinas with no indoor voice.

>>12991Which JJK ship is it? Is she fluent in Japanese or do you think she could be using a translating tool like google translate? If she's the type to often travel to Japan I get why she would do that, it's kind of like how western artists often tweet in English for their personal tweets but will be very likely to switch to their first language if they post about official releases or going to local cons in Europe and America outside of the USA, Canada and the UK. But on the other hand is Japanese that widespread in Korea nowadays?
No.12993
>>12992>Which JJK ship is it?Naoya/Toji. The ship acc is doki_66_44 and her manhwa acc is wowyang_. The coloring, general physical dynamics that align with her stuff (younger top/muscular, black haired bottom), the way she draws younger characters is what confirmed it the most for me though. Pic rel, the way the faces are shaped is distinctive Imo. I'm figuring she may just know JP, since it's existed since late 2023 (KR acc since 2019), and has been posting in JP since inception, to the point she uses it in pics too.
>Is Japanese that widespread in Korea nowadays? No idea. Maybe it's just a reach thing? Ship is bigger on the JP side rather than KR so she just goes all in on posting about it like that? One wonders.

Is Teen Wolf and/or Hannibal worth watching?
No.13001
>>13000If you enjoy live action shows like supernatural, Sherlock, or smallville, then they’re worth watching. I can’t really speak much on Hannibal, but if you end up watching Teen Wolf, don’t worry about watching past season 3. And if you’re expecting Derek x Stiles to be good, don’t. They’re the sort of ship people only shipped because they found the actors attractive together and the actors baited it outside the show after the ship gained popularity. Scott x Stiles and Scott x Isaac are significantly more interesting but because Scott is in a relationship with a girl most of the time, fans flocked to Stiles and Derek because they were single for the first few seasons.
No.13002
>>13000Hannibal is definitely worth watching for its cultural impact alone lol. Hannigram is probably one of the most popular yaoi ships of all time
No.13003
>>13000Hannibal is really beautifully shot and artistically made. Sometimes it's a little gory and it gets, uh, goofy, towards the middle of season 3, but its a masterpiece overall.
No.13004
>>13000>>13001Agreed. I'm still mad Scott/Isaac didn't take off in the show's heyday fandom. I won't say I regret finishing it, but season 4 is when things start becoming a lot less enjoyable.
No.13005
>>13004Yeah the fandom really glossed over the best gay ship potential in the series. At least it’s seemingly getting more popular in retrospect.

Feels a bit awkward buying doujinshi that has been in stock since 2020 on booth, I hope they don't hate looking at it too much after six years.
No.13010

No.13011
>>13007Yeah, it gets overwhelming at times. IMO, the best thing to do is scale back and focus on just one aspect. Theres nothing wrong with wanting to do original fiction, but its so hard going from fan content to that. It's overwhelming.
Maybe just design an indulgent character for the stuff you like and don't think about if it clashes. Just have fun playing.

>>13011It's overwhelming to make a story and an entire world for sure. I'm having fun being indulgent, but it's hard to make everything consistent and grounded.
>>13012I still feel really insecure about taking inspiration like I'm not creative enough. It helps when I do research on what other artists or real world cultures / events inspired artists I like, but the insecurity never goes away. I'm not trying reinvent the wheel or anything either. I just want to get better at drawing cute anime boys in their own world.

It helps when I do research on what other artists or real world cultures / events inspired artists I like, but the insecurity never goes away.I dunno about you but for me I sometimes wonder if this mindset is the result of being steeped in 2000s internet cringe culture where it was cool to 'spork fanfics' and make fun of kids who had sonic the hedgehog OCs.

Recently posted a fic that's the first of its relationship tag. It's niche so it was expected but I wish the honors of "opening" the ship tag went to a better writer, especially since I'm new to this. That said I can post new fics of them with no guilt since I only have to experience this once I guess.

>>13045You can always follow asian fandom accounts and block people who draw trans shit or cuntboy. Also just never speak on gender or political topics yourself kek. But I agree with you. Sora / Roxas / Ventus / Vanitas do not have pussies. Cloud does not have a pussy. Alphonse or Edward Elric do not have pussies. Geto does not have a pussy.

>>13046I can't read JP as much as that would solve the problem.
But even Asian fan accounts are not safe. Double if Korean. Triple if they're from china. I don't know what happened but almost every Cloud with a pussy or Sephiroth, has come from a Chinese account before a western one. I'm cursed to enjoy fanfiction and Japanese written fanfic is terrible more than it isn't.

I hate when the daily_blorbo type social media accounts post performative political shit that has nothing to do with the blorbo the account is supposed to be about. I don't follow daily_blorbo for posts about conflict in the Middle East. Or whatever other current thing the account owner wants everyone to know that they care about
No.13057
>>13056this is exactly why all western made gimmick accounts are not worth following. They will run out of content, the owners will absolutely think the 200k people following care about them.
They'll even think the brand they're pushing is them at some point.
I never follow these because one day I'm guaranteed to see them begging for their friend's top surgery, dead children in some poor country, sending money for floods, or the worst of all worlds, political lead slander.
No.13058
>>13047>But even Asian fan accounts are not safeYeah I've been dealing with this too lately. At least most of them will tag it so I've been able to add it to my blacklist but I had to block one chinese artist showing up in my otherwise good algorithm who just put it out there without any sort of tag or poipiku barrier.

>>13047I feel like Chris-Chan when I see Cloud with a pussy. He has a very beautiful penis! Even if Sephiroth uses his butthole.

No.13060
>>13045I wish there was a way to punish people for not tagging. I'm not transphobic I just very rarely enjoy looking at pussy. 99% of the time I'd rather look at frotting with 2 girls than I would anything involving a pussy.
>But every major fandom content creator would probably block me on sight if I followed them. This is my conundrum. I'm sitting on a treasure trove of fic I've written that would be appreciated by a certain ship's smallish fandom, but the prevailing HC for one of the guys is trans and while I would really love friends in this fandom it would be extremely obvious I do not interact with any of the trans fic/art.
>>13044I signed up but forgot to go, but I usually catch the panels when they are up on YouTube. It's a little annoying seeing fujo spaces transformed into catchall "queer" spaces.

It'll suck not being able to make friends but your identity stays a secret and other people who don't like the HC will be happy. Mute every user you don't like and if you get a comment from one of them you won't have to see it.
That's what I do in my fandom where I don't gel with the majority.
No.13062
>>13060>I'm not transphobic I am. Against online mtfs mostly. A malnourished drug addict in a wig decides to tell everyone "I demand to piss in the women's room." and now when I want to go fix my make up or adjust my undergarments, there's a 99% chance some ape of a man may walk out of a stall.
Every single fandom I get into feels like that, and if they get a single English VA, someone sends them $5 out of their weed money stash to have them go off about trans rights on a stream. It's not activism, it's addiction to drugs and validation. They get more of a dopamine kick from the cocktail of pills they take and praise online than meth. So I gotta spend at least 40 minutes-an hour filtering any trans adjacent tags on every site and yet I will still get some variant of [x] has a vagina/cunt/pussy because they need their work to be special. I lean to western interests more than anime and the low barrier for entry makes the community worse.
I however, do not have a problem with ftm's who don't go out of their way to witchhunt people misgendering them. Or ftm's who actually take the effort to build themselves up and don't need to make everything about them. Which are almost all of them that don't have any social media or have a life that doesn't involve working as baristas and environments with mandatory gender language training.
Also post your fanfics anon. If someone is investigating your account to sniff out why you don't write cuntboy, they are the issue not you. Somewhere, someone needs your work to feel sane and if they dont like it, fuck them. You wrote it, you can and should be proud of that.

>>13060>It's a little annoying seeing fujo spaces transformed into catchall "queer" spaces.Agreed. They've got enough sponsors that I assume it's a case of them trying to cast a wide net for profit but it's still unfortunate. I called it the circus but alternatively it's like taking a pleasant walk in the sunshine but you keep having to walk around dog shit on the pavement.
