>>12500It was certainly one of the motivating factors in watching it…
Really hoping I actually like their dynamic since there is so much good art.
No.12518
>>12517I shipped them before I finished the series. They could be cute together. I just prefer Yashiro and Satoru’s dynamic more.
No.12525
>>12518Finished it and I think I agree. Both the
car and rooftop scenes are pretty compelling, however I feel like the show just ends? Like it felt like a longer show that had 3 episodes to finish up. Would have liked to have a little more breathing room for the
post coma stuff or maybe
just a little more time after he's revealed as the killer, maybe some POV stuff or something? it just is paced a little wonky.
Good overall though I'm not complaining. Now off to read the doujins!

>>12525I’m pretty sure the manga has more stuff like side stories and explanations. I think the anime ending is also slightly altered from the original.

What should I watch next Sengoku Basara or Blue Period?
No.12542
>>12541I really enjoyed Blue Period, but that might be because I went to art school and found it to be scarily relatable.

I was randomly inspired to check out Osomatsu-san and see if its reputation held up since I'm a fan of comedy anime, even though the designs filter me from any fujo potential. The parodies were pretty funny, but the ikemen voices are at such odds with most of the muppets and I'm not a fan of their personalities so far, especially the chuuni guy. The comedy is also hit-or-miss. I ended up checking out the 80s Osomatsu-kun to compare and I'm enjoying everything about it a lot more. Even though the Matsus don't have distinct personalities they're more endearing. Whenever I'm a bit sick of modern anime tropes, older anime is always refreshing.
No.12553
>>12552Interesting, are you going to check out the 60s series as well? I personally liked the style of humor in San more and the defined personalities but they are so different in their humor they aren't really comperable and it makes perfect sense to like on and not the other.
No.12559
>>12553>Interesting, are you going to check out the 60s series as well?If I can find it I will, but I haven't had any luck so far.
I love Gintama so it's a bit strange that many series by the same director keep missing the mark for me. It seems like Gintama must have been the best fit for his style, because it doesn't totally work in Osomatsu-san (and Boueibu's quality seriously dipped after the second season)
No.12560
>>12552I consider myself an osomatsu-san fan but even so I agree that the humor doesn't always land. The latest season in particular had some really terrible skits that stretched out a joke that was already unfunny to begin with.
No.12578
>>12559Would be interested what you think of Charisma, I've seen a few people come away saying it's similar to Osomatsu-san's humor but I think it's got inherently better chances at consistent characterization. Doesn't move the setting around as much as Osomatsu-san or Gintama, so gags mostly stem from character traits rather than introducing outside concepts.

>>12545>>12542Blue Period nonna replied first so I've started that one, I'll watch Sengoku next.
Right now I like MC how self-conscious and realistic he is about his art skills. When I was younger I used to draw for fun, but once I hit high school I realized that my art was shit compared to all the online artists I looked up to so I just stopped altogether. Now I wish I'd stuck with it, guess I find him admirable for that reason. haha
No.12618
>>12616Not really, it’s a 4-koma adaptation so don’t expect a lot of depth or a plot. The boys are decently cute though!
No.12619
>>12616There's only 2 episodes out so far but I like it. It's cozy despite being about torturers.

>>12281I'm so happy I got to blast through the Chimera Ant arc with no waiting for chapters. I've slowed down on the most recent arc because I know I'm about to hit the hiatus wall, but it's really good too. I see that there's a HxH thread so I'm gonna necro it later when I'm caught all the way up.

>>12739Isn’t isekai with shota very rare? Wish it wasn’t.
No.12743
>>12739There's a non-isekai fantasy anime about a blind shota airing right now that I looked into before the current season started. While browsing through the first few manga chapters to check it out, though, it seemed like it was pretty hetero and I got disappointed.
No.12745
>>12740Unless you mean gay shota, then no. It's probably the most common type of protagonist in the last few years because for some reason WN authors love writing that eight-year-olds are in charge of their own duchy and entrusted with political/economic/military decisions.
No.12747
>>12745>eight-year-olds are in charge of their own duchy and entrusted with political/economic/military decisions.Lol isn’t that how it was in our world when kings died and had only young sons?
Also yes I meant gay shota sorry.
No.12748
>>12747In theory, but there was always an adult always pulling the strings(usually the mother or a male regent) while the king was still a child

I'm kinda late but I started and caught up with the new samurai troopers anime and it's pretty fun. I never watched the original so any specific references will fly over my head but I'm not confused so far.
No.12802

Funny how Gai tends to sing songs out of context, which infuses the show with homolust.
>Don't take off my sailor uniform / Not now, you must be patient / Don't take off my sailor uniform / No, I won't let you, not hereI want to see him crossdress kek.
>The silver rocket I sent you / Now holds someone else's photo / Well then, while you embrace that one / Laugh at this sad love affair / Tearful Request, Final Request for youAs he chops off limbs of pretty boys, making him look like a yandere.
>In the locker room sheltering from the rain, you hung your head slightly / And said we could never go back / What could I have said to you, so painfully sincere / With the wind lodged in your eyesWhat a gay song.

>>12806Another Ne Zha fan!! The second movie was so excellent! I can't wait for the third!
>The yaoibait is actually insane though. Very good movies for fujos. The Chinese fujos for this movie have a third eye + galaxy brain for their ship-tism. For example, after the first movie, the CN fujos began to design how Ao Guang would look and started creating a backstory all based on Chinese myth. The pre-NZ2 Ao Guang fan design looks uncanny like the official one too.
Since the dragons were betrayed by Heaven, the fujos decided that the head of the heaven pantheon (emperor of heaven) would be the one who had an affair with Ao Guang, and later Ao Guang would leave him. It's all so dramatic and has a good taste of edge, but surprisingly it's the second most popular pairing in the Ne Zha movies. Leave it to fujos to create an entirely new character to ship kek
No.12834
>>12832The third movie is going to be so hype. I need to livewatch it somehow with other fujos.
>the fujos decided that the head of the heaven pantheon (emperor of heaven) would be the one who had an affair with Ao Guang, and later Ao Guang would leave himTheir minds. The creativity. We are evolving as a species. Okay but seriously though, I also thought about how Ao Guang's human form had to be handsome while watching NZ1. Very satisfied at what he looked like in NZ2. Fuck I love the dragon boy and his dad. I also thought the furry demons were cute af.

Anon who has been watching 80s Osomatsu-kun. Fujo stuff was the furthest thing from my mind so when Chibita accidentally kissed Osomatsu in that one episode it was a jumpscare. But then I thought about it, and you know what? Would ship it, actually. It's enemies to lovers that would cause Romeo and Juliet 2.0 levels of family drama. I would pay to see that play out.
And Chibita is actually a catch. He's best friends with stray cats and is surprisingly smooth on a date. He's way out of the Matsus' league, but that's okay.
…Anyway, still wouldn't be my weirdest/most cartoonishly ugly ship.

Started watching Shiboyugi today. It made me briefly consider the idea of an all-dude death game, only to realize I'd probably just end up seething because I'm 100% sure the type of guys I like would end up dying first. Maybe just a psychological torture one, or something. Anyway, Shiboyugi is neat enough, very fun/pretty visually.

>>12739I'm sad that he's gotten zero screentime since the first two episodes, oh well…
This anime still gives me a warm/fuzzy feeling after each episode. The characters are really sweet and thank god the MC isn't another edgelord.
