I was thinking, why is it that someone disliking your ship hurts? Logically there is no reason for it and yet it stings a bit to be told that you like a "bad ship."
No.10099
>>10098Maybe it's because That Someone matters greatly to you so their disapproval hurts. Or perhaps you're just too invested in your ship, be it emotionally, financially or otherwise, and subconsciously associates your self-worth/identity to it, such that any negativity is taken personally.

>>10098From my PoV, it hits the same area of your brain that relates to for example liking a certain sports team, singer or game series. Some part of you starts to wonder if you have bad taste and you were wasting your time and it could make your defensive. I feel like it's some lizardbrain human nature thing cause why else are sports hooligans and toxic Swifties a thing?

>>10098I don't think it hurts but I'm mildly annoyed when it's a talented and prolific writer/artist at the helm of a rival ship. If you boil down fandom to its basic element, it is a collective of free, public, and shared resources (the time and ability of fans) but there is no way to control that resource. Antis and himejoshi try in futility to redistribute it away from the problematic/yaoi and so too do I wish I could put the thumbscrews on the loathsome yet talented CxA creators for the glory of AxB. I'm sane enough to never resort to the shitflinging we see in modern times but I will not deny that I completely understand why antis/himes do what they do.

Kind of a weird trope - ikemen lolicon - that has happened enough times to be considered a trope, but it's a bucket of cold water for me every time. There was a guy like that in Doujin Work, and then the spear guy in Shield Hero who got turned into one when the author got mad he was too popular.

How peculiar. Had a similar moment when looking at a Sk8 infinity gay doujin and finding out that artist apparently also draws a long running doujin series about a nymphomaniac elf who's into monsters.

She mostly posts about it on her personal twitter account but her professional account is all about regular straight hentai with pretty women who have huge boobs and average or faceless guys. My only issue is that she's into omegaverse. I think the woman who used to post a lot of Sugimoto genderbend art with ridiculous huge breasts is also a fujoshi, she stopped posting on twitter years ago and onmy posted straight doujinshi but I found some BL doujinshi she made before that on mrm.

Blue Lock’s a funny case to me because the one girl gets a lot of fanservice but it feels like an editor addition to try and cancel out the male fanservice and how gay the manga feels at times.

This should probably be reserved for the wsj board (I'll do it when it reaches 3 chapters in) but JUMP lately with their recent attempts at sport series are usually not that good for fujobait. So I would like to try even if the sports genre is generally seen as doomed in the current era.

Does anyone have a beloved piece of media that is, like, objectively homoerotic, but you just can't be fujo about it? There's a book I've loved since childhood. Even though I'm way too old for it now, it still holds a very special place in my heart, and I reread it regularly. This book is VERY unintentionally homoerotic, to the point where some reviewers even complain about how gay the main character seems. I've even recommended it as a fujo-esque book to people because it's THAT GAY, and I know it would appeal to them. There's an entire paragraph where the protagonist details another character's ass, and that's not even the main source of homoeroticism in the story. I can acknowledge all of this, but I still can't bring myself to ship the characters or anything. I know why this is, and it's kind of personal, but it's just weird because normally, I'd be all over the dynamic portrayed in the book. It's the exact shit I love, and there are other stories with a similar dynamic where I DO ship the characters. This one is off-limits in my brain, though. Images spoilered because the third picture contains a major plot detail. The others do not contain spoilers if you want to see some funny reviews.

I know Twitter has the best artists but I find the userbase and site design too unbearable to spend too much time on there. I mostly lurk on Tumblr but that site is kind of dead nowadays.. Lofter doesn't allow nsfw for sure (you can make an account by downloading WeChat and linking it to lofter). Weibo is so-so, I've seen people post explicit nsfw but if it has like a little censor or if the image is placed between random images that you scroll down to. Some people post on exclusive QQ groups (discord but chinese) where porn is allowed there. People use their QQ space kind of like a mini-twitter also.
