Part of me envies people who can keep up their intense interest in one fandom for so long, because I get sad when I feel myself moving on from something, but at the same time, if I was still only into my first fandom after all this time, I would still be stuck churning out Homestuck fanfic instead of enjoying better ships and canons.
And unless the canon shits the bed so hard that all my goodwill dies (like Homestuck), I do usually stay interested enough in past fandoms/ships to keep coming back and looking at fanwork, but my own creative/intensely obsessive period usually ends once I reach the end of the canon or the story concludes.

I hate how the people in my fandom baby the grown-ass adult man (he's over 40) regarding BL fanservice while also making sexual comments about him. They'll bitch about boundaries, about keeping shipping on the down-low, with one breath and then ask him to hold them by the waist and flirt with them for the photo-op with the next.

I'd normally agree based on the fact that I think it's cringe to shove shipping on the face of performers, but the fact that I suspect their real problem with him getting handsy with other dudes when he knows a fan likes that sort of thing is actually yumejo possessiveness makes me gives 0 shits about what they think about it.

Anyone that's been into fujo works long enough knows that pretty much all the time, no matter what, whoever bottoms gets the most attention. Both drawn and in fic, the bottom will be at the forefront.
So when I fucking tell you, I don't fucking like an specific pairing as AB rather than BA, it's not "the fucking same" to refer it with the AB name.
I don't know how to call this type of fujo, position neutral? Yeah AO3 usually only has one tag per pairing with no regard to the dynamic.
Even for pairings where I don't care/like both dynamics I want to tag them correctly because it's part of the content and relevant. And sometimes you are just in the mood of a specific dynamic, no? Even if you like both. And then I want correct tags and get what I want by clicking them.

This is especially annoying if your preferred dynamic is the rare one.

I don't get the appeal of this at all. I understand the idea of wanting to feel pretty through your self-insert, but I don't understand why that entails looking like a hentai character. I'm not even talking about having big breasts because I understand why larger-chested women might prefer to self-insert onto a character who looks like them, but these characters don't look like wish-fulfillment. Their outfits aren't usually interesting, and most of the characters look "generically pretty" to me in the same way as the girls in a harem anime. Your post reminded me of that Fxxx Me Royally otome game where the protagonist is a Manic Pixie Dream Girl for the two most generic-looking love interests. In the h-scenes, the protagonist is always naked while the men are clothed. I have no idea why it's like that, or why it's so accepted.

I believe you. My main exposure to unhinged yumes is through lolcow, and while they can be annoying or emotionally immature, I just assume they're young and don't know better. Yumes are very open about how much they hate fujoshi which is why I can't side with them for the gacha gender war because I don't want the only husbando games being otome. Male characters can't interact without them chimping out. Genshin was also my first brush with the modern yume after writing the whole genre off in the 00s as something only kids (Mary Sue fics) or insane women (Snapewives) did and never seeing much of it since then outside of knowing otome games existed. Yes infact i love character creation in games, games like infinite nikki too, they are really cute and fun to play.

I do have male characters I love and I find attractive don't get me wrong, but my normieself prevents me from fully diving in and shipping them with me.

Is it me or does it feel like there's less mainstream fujo bait series now? Shounen anime used to be good for it but now several shows shove blatant hetero ships in your face, gacha is loosing ground to incels who hate any male character but the self insert protagonist, Western cartoons could canonize a gay ship but they never seem to want to and a lot of indie devs seem to be the types who either moralize about fujos or "problematic relationships".

I'm not a gacha game player but I've been keeping up with seasonal anime and I feel you. The biggest recent fujobait franchise I've seen around recently is Blue lock and maybe Wind breaker? I don't actually know how popular Wind breaker is but the anime is one of the gayest things I've been watching this season for sure.

No, it's not just you. A lot of fujos are complaining about the same issue, nobody wants to pander to us anymore. The rare male characters added to any content are yume oriented because you don't have to give them a personality nor interaction with any others because that would ruin their self-insert fantasies anyway, so it's a win-win for them. Most fujos are still holding on to the stuff they enjoyed from 5 years ago because nothing else has caught their attention, and me myself got into creating my own OCs. At some point fujos were normalized to the point series were more willing to accommodate them, but I think it's directly tied to the rocketing rise of conservative values globally that shut the blinds on that development.

I hate the people who use the term "biphobia" when they want to complain about people not shipping their het ship or for calling their husbando gay. It's always either a yume or someone with a het ship who's really mad they can't force fujos to see the het ship as "canon". Or dumb Hoyo fans who see the mc pandering as "coding" the character as bisexual. Yeah right, go ask any incel neckbeard if he actually thinks that Firefly is "bisexual".
