Akechi being heavily implied to be still alive (with the secret ending and deleted but fully programmed post-death scene) AND getting so much extra attention and content was such a win for fujos, and with such a popular game like P5 it was very unusual and of course it did make the moids seethe but all the devs had to do was cook up a derivative, boring and flat new waifu they could coom to (no one else liked her). The already deep and plot relevant character got even more content and development while the waifus (some of them decent) stayed the same and even got their screen time stolen by a half-assed waifu, and in her character arc the male villain managed to outshine her. Incredible, I'm still shocked they went for it.
Also since you mentioned her, I fucking hate Aigis. I know it's unpopular and Idc, when I recently played P3 she came off as a shoehorned mary sue that's perfect in every way and suddenly gets shoved into the plot at the end. Even the attempts at making her funny and le quirky were awful. Idk why she's the popular one when the other women are a lot better (but still held down by the disgusting coomery moments and romance that turns them into flustered doormats). Everyone acts like P3's waifus are written better but to me they tend to get cringy really fast while on the other hand the cringiness works for P5 because of the silly ass context.

They deleted the scene confirming that he was alive so now all the dudebros do is get smug about how he's dead. It's hard to not resent the company because they never continued Royal and keep Akechi in this limbo so his haters can get the last laugh. If men liked him, like they like Adachi, this wouldn't be the case. It made any gains from Royal feel hollow when the dudebros can still gloat about how he can never appear in anything again so his fans can never be happy.

Idk, to me it doesn't matter because it's clear what the intention of the writers was. And Akechi is actually alive if you get the proper ending in the post-credit scene. All the coomer waifufags saying it's somehow a hallucination are coping hard, it's clear that the scene meant that Akechi was able to escape death. That's his entire theme too, it's tied to his personas, specifically Hereward, but I don't expect dudebros to read anything beside hentais of their waifus.
They can seethe all they want, but at the end of the day fujos got game content that further developed the character that was already heavily plot relevant in the original game, they made it canonical that the one desire of the protagonist during the third semester was to bring him back to life (but he wasn't dead to begin with), we got sexually charged lines while he is in the team (also a big win), him laying down with Joker in the opening movie, or them being together in the Maruki "bad ending" cards (fun fact, in the very last one Joker and Akechi are the only ones looking at the camera). They even put more effort in their special attack together with shit like "two sides, same coin", the whole game is full of intentional parallels between Joker and Akechi alone but of course the coomers can't pick them up. And what do they get? Some flat new waifu that didn't fit at all (no matter how hard they tried to spin Kasumi as part of a "Royal trio", nobody fucking sees her as that and the coomers don't even care for her), and some awful female confidants that are irrelevant to the game's story. Basically they've got the side fanfictions, while we got the entire canonical game that they also were forced to play through.
A reminder that Atlus writers managed to make an established coomer cheater character like Vincent into a canonical bisexual with Rin, and he has actual chemistry with him (they also deadname the tranny character lol).

I have never seen fujos hating female characters. Fujos are even likely to enjoy yuri and yuri adjacent series like Madoka even if they aren't lesbians in real life.
What I THINK is true is that fujos have a detachment from shitty waifus because they are neither attracted to them like male otaku nor self-inserting like yume so they are the most likely group to criticize their writing.

Just recently I tried to read an ACTION shounen where like.. every fucking girl was orbiting MC in some way. And some of them literally declared that their single purpose in life was to "support" MC or make him happy. They said it with a peaceful, happy face, because that's what they were made for.
This pisses me off because it's such bad fucking writing and it legit makes me dislike the characters because I cannot even view them as such, since they're solely created for the purpose of fawning over the awesome MC that you have to love because the mangaka tells you so. Of course do they suck and I will say so.

Yume will usually not read that stuff to begin with or self-insert as their favorite girl so they have no reason to hate unless another girl should win.

Criticism like this always makes me think that it's coming from coomers (tranny or not) because they don't see anything wrong with female characters that are written as soulless, devote love interests puppets because they fap to it and can therefore not fathom why someone might think they're shit.

I used to hate female characters with a passion actually unless they were older badasss fighters or in Clamp works. I was absolutely the misogynistic fujo sterotype in highschool though a decade later and I'm glad to say I've outgrown it. A lot shoujo protags are very uninteresting and samey, harem girl options are more interesting even if their character revolves around MC, the non-Clamp girls I liked have been in series like Oh my Goddess and Tenchi Muyo so a romance interest isn't a killing blow to a character but even if I like a female character I have never felt the same urge to ship them and I actively dislike yuri with the exception of Madohomu which another anon described on here as "yaoi-coded."

Is it wrong to say I'm only interested in shipping yaoi because I'm attracted to men? You can take the most well written female characters like Utena or Nanoha and none of it scratches the same itch. I don't want to be shallow, and I'm not even attracted to all parties in each ship I like, but I can't think of another explanation since "well-written" female characters exist and do nothing for me fandom-wise or outside the context of their own series.

Same here, while in grade-high school I hated most female characters, as well. However, once I aged I realized that it was silly and unfair of me. What I really hated was how the female characters were depicted. I mostly looked at Shonen series that had terribly written female characters or only included them for love interests or fanservice.

I understand. I watched Kase-san and the morning glories when it was new to give yuri a shot cause people I knew at the time loved it but I wasn't feeling it. No, it's not a crime to be a straight women. You don't need any excuse or justification, and lots and lots of women in fandom secretly feel the same way. Think about how preformative and shallow yuri love is on social media in a lot of cases. "WOMEN!!!" and then they go back to focusing on the cute boys.

I hate how people put all of this moral pressure onto women to make sure all of our art is inclusive, unproblematic, "good", we have to write everything realistically, etc, etc. When the last time other men integrated yurifags or waifufags about not caring about male characters?

Same. I enjoyed He-Man when I was 4 and I think every kid in the 90s enjoyed Indiana Jones and other adventure movies regardless of the gender of the fan or MC. It's even more extreme when the gender isn't enough anymore and people demand specific life circumstances, hobbies or health issues to be the exact same as their own. Personally I especially dislike the latter few, because I prefer MCs that are cooler than myself and my own life. Those sorts of things ought to apply only to live action dramas. For example if my disability were to be included in a TV show that the general public might watch I'd want it to be represented fairly and not total bullshit. That to me would be representation and that would be something that matters to my daily life. Something like a soap drama that informs and educates in a space where topical subjects are expected.

I've found a character in an isekai who sounds like they had the same disease as me before isekaiing, but it's not disclosed and it's not made a huge deal about. It just informs his preferences when he gets to eat whatever he wants. I found his preferences in tea and desire to eat cake relatable, but his past issues remain understated and his new habits have a broader appeal. 70% of the series is magic, sword fights, and comical misunderstandings, 30% is eating too much cake and roast duck. That's a sensible balance and provides satisfactory levels of wish fulfillment and adventure. What people get wrong is tipping a bucket of ~r e p r e s e n t a t i o n~ on an OC and skewing the rest of the story because of that. It's missing the bigger picture.

I usually only hate characters if they do terrible things to the protag or are annoying as fuck. Other than that, I'm usually neutral towards most characters. Same. I wouldn't be able to enjoy fiction otherwise. The dudes I am into are almost always side characters or antagonists. It seem to be a common thing though to solely read or watch a series for a single character. But I wasn't aware of this until a few years ago. I even see fujos sometimes drop a series when the fav stopped appearing even if the pairing isn't cancelled and the other half of the ship still getting screentime. I cannot even like pairings if I don't like both characters individually too.

It’s funny how people generally agree that the reason fujoshis hate female characters is because they get in the way of their ship. Whether that’s true or not, it’s a widely accepted statement at this point.
What’s ironic though is that everyone hates characters who interfere with their ship yet fujos are the only ones constantly accused of it. A recent example would be Aira and Jiji from Dandadan, it’s obvious they’re hated because they disrupt a popular ship yet people pretend their dislike stems from some other reason since they can’t admit they hate those characters only for shipping reasons

I feel like something overlooked often when the whole “fujos hate female characters” issue pops up is character design. Like for me personally, there are characters that I would probably really like, but I absolutely hate their character design. And this goes for both male and female characters. If the character design appeals to me, I’ll end up liking the character (male or female) even if they are badly written because I do think they have potential simply because their design is nice.

I like female characters that feel like they just exist in their own world. I don't self-insert but the female characters I like all could be avatars for me. I will always love mlp characters over a big booby sidelined SJ manga love interest who just exists for lame het romance.

Fanservice design being hard to overlook is so annoying, especially in shonen. But I get the feeling that these fanservice designs are enforced sometimes - like Bishamon in Noragami is introduced in a bikini outfit and then the authors (who are both women) gradually stop using it and show her more often in a suit. Then they actually 'kill off' the outfit (it makes sense in context, the outfit is a character who turns into clothes) so it can never actually appear again.
The Kimetsu author is also supposedly female and the vibe I got from the extra comic about Mitsuri's outfit was 'I'm writing this to complain about my shitty male editor', but hey, I could be totally wrong.

I tend to avoid fandom filled with incel waifu-obsessed simps and man-hating woke yuritards, including the small, underrated one like Record of Ragnarok/Shuumatsu no Valkyrie, sometimes good sometimes mediocre tournament manga, somewhat the fandom is woke, misandristic how they freely shit-talking male characters while simping for female characters and threaten everyone who dared to criticize their shitty-written waifus.

I liked few ones like Brunhilde, Hrist, Göll and Geirölul, though I recently like Geirölul less because her simp gooners and most of her fans are beta simps, reddit tend to make weird waifu and husbando poll, they were chill with making joke about husbandos but when it comes to waifus, they seethed and took it seriously.

Used to be more chill fandom but it gone toxic during R9, easily the worst round and the characters are least developed.

Leonidas got the worst-written and end up being petty, Apollo in beginning was one-dimensional narcissistic prick who changed 180 to humble after getting his face scarred, Geirölul was actually small part of redeeming part about R9 but her personality is as bad as Leonidas, he hates Apollo and she hates Apollo too for random reason, which makes her as bad even with decent screentime.

Let's not start how fandom treated them, either slander those two fighters or glazed them for coping, Geirölul didn't get slandered because her fragile simp gooners would ban anyone who dared to criticize her yet her sisters are slandered but no one cares.

I blame simp gooners and sjw woke yuritards for making it difficult to like female characters.

I think Glitch Production did a good job making female characters and protagonists as 'people', just look at how Pomni is beloved, I heard Knights of Guinevere was inspired by Mickey Mouse, ngl I love classic Disney Princesses like Cinderella, Mulan including the unofficial ones like Esmeralda, Megara, Kida, Wendy and Captain Amelia.

I think a lot of yumes consider it less misogynistic because their self-insert counts as a female character, so it doesn't matter how many other women they hate. I had written a post about a similar topic that I ended up never posting on here because I thought I was being too irrational, but a lot of otome games feature a mean girl or "stupid woman lusting after the LI" character who is meant as a point of comparison for the much more virtuous MC. It's weird how that never gets called out because I've always hated that trope. I've also noticed fujos tend to be able to befriend each other much more easily, and it seems like we usually have pretty positive relationships with other women. Being a yume seems more isolating from an outsider's perspective.

In my experience, a lot of the "love" yumes and generic hetshippers have for female characters is entirely performative and most of their time goes into weaponizing them to moralize against fujos rather than actually enjoying the characters themselves. Like they claim to be the biggest fan and protector of female character x, but in the end the only time they talk about her is just fluff without substance or to whine about fujos not respecting her supposedly amazing writing. Most fujos are either indifferent or at least respectful towards female characters, no great enthusiasm one way or another because their focus is on the male ship, yet pixel feminists use their indifference as proof of their hatred. I specifically can't stand it when they do this to female characters that are explicitly created by men for male coom and argue that it doesn't matter because the character in question is "totally like them IRL" so hating her means you're hating her personally and thus all women.

Even when shallow and badly-written, male characters can be still attractive (so provide fanservice). Shallow and badly-written female characters are of no use and so a waste of space/screentime.
