I don't want too many westoids to find out about Uuultra C in case some spergs deem Kurosawa Rinko a terf and start a harrassment campaign after they read the second route.
No.6179
>>6178I have seen tifs praise it for pro-transgender content but I haven't played Uuultrac myself. Is it actually gender critical? The crossdressers in Hashihime made me think she is supportive.
No.6180
>>6179I'm surprised any of them would praise it. I was referring to the scene with the sexual predator transbian. I found it surprisingly based.
No.6181
>>6153>>6154I don't own this game, just had it on my wishlist for a while, but that's unfortunate to hear. The premise sounded promising as someone who's into horror but it sounds like Paradise doesn't actually do a good job at psychological horror.
No.6182
>>6180They claimed it was good trans representation kek I have to play it sometime and see
No.6215
Can anyone who's played through Uuultra C tell me if the second route love interest is actually a tranny because I really don't feel like finishing it if that's the case. Also am I just stupid or is the story intentionally vague and confusing? Does it make sense by the end of the game?
No.6216
>>6215No, he's a fruit. He isn't even a drag queen. His character was written in such a pointless way.
>Also am I just stupid or is the story intentionally vague and confusing? It's intentional. It forces you to replay to fully understand the whole story.
No.6225
>>6215>Does it make sense by the end of the game?Pretty much, but the other nona is right that a second read through will solidify your understanding of the whole thing
I read back through a chunk of the first route to clear up a couple questions I had and even with understanding what's happening, the pacing is still notably bad
Anyways, I liked the third route much more than the second, you should stick to it! I feel like if the second route was taken out and the other two were fleshed out more, the final product would've been much stronger
No.6229
2 solid routes and then everything goes off the rail, sounds like an Adelta VN alright.
No.6232
>>6229I'm reading Hashihime right now, does that one also go off the rails after the first 2 or so routes??
No.6237
>>6232I've seen so many people straight up recommending to only play the first 2 routes of Hashihime lul, but who knows, maybe ur gonna be a contrarian and think they're actually peak.
No.6239
>>6232I was going to say yes but it's subjective so I recommend you read all the routes. The worst one for me was the last one but it's very short so read it anyway and form your own opinion in case you could like it. I was going to the say the third route isn't that weird but the way it ends… Just read it yourself. If you ever see anyone telling you only the first two routes matter it's because they're the ones with almost all the explanations on what's going on and why.
No.6241
>>6239>>6236>>6237Thank you for your replies!
I haven't reached any route but this is reassuring. Regardless, I'd still finish it even if the later routes were a mess, since I quite enjoy the characters and the story.
No.6250
>>6168>but a lot of reviews seem to like them the most???Do those reviewers have trans flags in their bios or use the word 'queer' in every paragraph? That would explain it.
>Their chapter could've been removed in favor of making the other two chapters stronger I would just rewrite it and make Shirou have sex with anybody else, crack ship or not.
>>6180>>6182>transbianProof? She's just a sex-starved bislut with a dildo.
No.6257
>>6256They messed up Hanazawa so badly ughh.
No.6259
>>6252No, IMO opinion OOE routes are a lot more varied and the last few routes are good too… BUT I am biased because I like the first one the best.
No.6262
>>6260Agreed. I'm pretty sure she is a shotafag too but wants to avoid anything too controversial. Fans used to send literal letters to mangakas back in the day we should bring it back. She needs to know how many incestfags there are to support her. I'll check out that fanfic now thanks for the rec anon
No.6268
>>6262A blvn like slow damage with an actual shota route would be amazing
No.6269
>>6268Agreed. Incredibly based opinion. I'd even love a shota for the main character for once.
No.6270
>>6268It just occurred to me, I dunno if Rin from Togainu was supposed to be a shota or if he's just freshly 18. I do recall that there was a timeskip in his epilogue that made him grow considerably.

Had Megane installed for years and only now got the urge to play it. Suffered for a few hours using Luna translator OCR + LM Studio, and found out while looking for a guide that a translation released earlier this year for it on AF.
Since I was using an LLM to translate, I can't vouch for how accurate the patch is, but it appears serviceable.
No.6336
What BLVNs are you hoping to get translated ? (Besides Ooe which Mangagamer already announced it should be translated eventually).
No.6365
>>6337It's a really good VN but I wonder if it wouldn't be considered too "woke" for the regular fujoshis.
No.6368
>>6365That's ominous. Do you mean regarding the politics side of the game?
No.6371
>>6368Every route has homophobia and/or racism as main plot points so I wouldn't be surprised if some people consider it too "preachy".
No.6373
>>6371That makes sense. I take that sort of thing on a case by case basis. Games like Final fantasy 16 and the Metal gear solid series naturally weave political topics into their narrative but I've seen clips and screenshots from western games where it basically feels like the player is shoved into a PSA.
No.6391
>>6367I'm a hardcore Ariake fan so I skipped most of the other routes' prologues and didn't really see how Shizuma is written, but I've started tolerating him a bit because I like Hinode x Shizuma (with this exact fixed top/bottom dynamic).
and he's a recurring character in pretty much every prologue except Ariake A so i was expecting something way more compelling from him given his implied importance. but his route trying to mirror ariake's trolley problem was kinda funny kek No.6412
Everyone hypes Shingakkou up as if it's the best BL game of all time, so for years it's been my white whale. My Japanese is admittedly unusable, and I heard that it's pretty complicated so I never bothered— having to use a MTL would just ruin the experience.
But I was talking with a friend about it the other day and when I told her about the game, she was intrigued and went to download it herself with Lunatranslator. She spent like, a week straight doing nothing but playing, which inspired me to just take the plunge and play it myself.
The game actually lives up to the hype? I picked Neil as my first route and am almost done his, but my god, the more I play the more I realize what a sin it is this never got an official or unofficial translation. It's crazy to me that so many people won't get to experience this game because of the language barrier. I think its definitely one of the top BLs I ever played.
I also discovered that Luna has a function that adds furigana and one-click word lookup, and I feel like I've been retaining a lot more Japanese reading this than I have just doing regular studying. Either way, the mystery and atmosphere are top notch, Neil is dreamy, I can't wait to do Leonid's route next.
No.6413
>>6412It's good to learn about Luna translator. I remember years ago I tried to play Luckydog with Textractor and the program just didn't work so I assumed that one had issues with older games. I'd like to get to shingakkou myself one day because the premise sounds like something I'd enjoy.
No.6415
>>6413I always had problems with textractor too so I gave up on it years ago, but Luna is genuinely simple to use. Just download, run, and it works pretty much straight out of the box.
Just enable OCR in settings and then click the little icon marked "this stays on screen" (my friend made these little guide pictures for me) and it let you click and drag a box anywhere on your screen. The box stays put and any text that appears inside gets automatically translated. You can even set the text in the game to auto and it still keeps up with it. No need to hook it up to any game directly, it runs separately.
Although if you want it to have Hiragana and word look-up, that does require a few extra steps.

>>6412Is PillSlash dead ? No news about about a new potential BL from them for 6 years already.
No.6417
>>6416*5 years, forgot Dystopia was a thing cause I haven't seen almost anybody talk about it.
No.6418
>>6416They're still doing collabs and licensing translations, but if they have any new games in the works right now they've been tight lipped about it. After an (admittedly brief) search through Japanese social media, I couldn't find anything even akin to a rumour.
No.6419
>>6412Tbh i never got “waiting” to have better japanese so you can play what you want. I always feel ten times more motivated when im learning along side reading a VN i enjoy. If you’re japanese wasn’t up to par the first time, just reread it again later?
No.6420
>>6419No genuinely you're so right. I don't think I should have waited at all. I feel like I'm learning a lot faster playing Shingakkou than I would have if I spent this same amount of time studying.
I remember I used to tutor when I was younger and would always make a point not to just teach, but to have an entire conversation about the material because I found people retain information better through conversation than simple memorizing and lecture. I don't understand the exact psychology, maybe it's because the brain is more engaged, but I had great results doing that back then and I'm wondering if it's the same thing happening here.
I'll probably tackle a bunch more Japanese games after this, maybe Ooe or Pigeon Blood.

What's y'alls favorite BL VNs company ? N+C, Pill/Slash, Parade, Adelta, Holicworks, etc. ?
No.6430
>>6429Same here. Once I have the free time and motivation for it I'd like to play some of the older titles as well.
No.6431
>>6426Probably Adelta, I own more Nitro chiral merch though.
