As someone who genuinely loves this series and bought all of the manga so fair, I'm expecting Twitter discourse around if it's okay or not to watch this and pedo accusations thrown around. Along with morons denying that it's a BL or saying they see them platonically or didn't know it was romantic. There's a scene where the oni gets a boner before hiding it and where he dresses up as a maid for a cultural festival and the shota takes pictures. The shota's mom and some side characters ask if he's a pervert kek. I wanna see them adapt that.

>maximize the anime's appeal
I mean, at the end of the day it's still a story about a shota and an old guy that may or may not be BL. What other audience do you want to reach that's not fujos? It's just asking for normalfags to lambast the show with pedo accusations and even then it's too gay for mainstream anime lovers to like it. Just stick to your guns and keep it as Shota x Oni

there are already people who read it while denying it’s BL. getting rid of the “shota” in the title will definitely attract more views. showrunners just want views

the author has a BL manga lol which probably informs how she writes this and the character interactions I wish the Yazuka did get dicked down by his bias though, but I think the author just wrote this for the outlandish premise

Does anybody know where you can read the full manhwa promo of "I don't know martial arts" (무협을 모릅니다 )? Vidrel. Finding the actual novel is easy, but the promo is impossible to find, some comments suggested some translations might've been removed. The easily searchable english translation is not full. Any language would suffice and not necessary pirated, i just can't find it anywhere.

Ogeretsu Tanaka is coming to Paris for Japan Expo in two or three weeks and the last time I went there to meet Kotteri, the publishing company for the French version of Veil was so retarded they tried to trick me into buying two copies of the same book to maybe have a chance to talk to her and get a book signed. I ended up not meeting her after all. Now I'm hesitating to meet Ogeretsu Tanaka on Friday to get something signed but my shit luck is telling me it's not going to work out and it will be a waste of time and money. Train tickets are expensive too. On the other hand I just found out several of the Persona devs are also coming on Friday and I'd love to see Soejima drawing one of the characters live. What do?

I don't know exactly the hour of Soejima's live drawing, if possible I'd like to see him and Ogeretsu Tanaka the same day. The issue is that there will be an interview on sateruday with her and I don't see myself spending that much money on the convention. I'm seriously thinking about it but I need to make sure I can buy train tickets for the right day before there's no more trains for that week.

Going through summer seasonals really exemplified to me the lack of fujobait nowadays. I just randomly went to Summer 2014 and there was Tokyo Ghoul, Free, BB, K Project, Love Stage, and DMMD. That was probably just a crazy season but still, damn.

 No.6752

I just bought train tickets and a ticket for Japan Expo to hopefully meet Ogeretsu Tanaka. Pray for me because there's a limited number of tickets for fans who want to meet her and get something signed by her and trains here suck and are always later if they work, for once. I'll bring my 3DS with me, if French anons have one and want to meet me on streetpass by the way, I completed almost all the puzzles.

I completely agree, I think it's weird and I also don't like kids when this happened with 2HA it nearly made me DNF the book. And yes!!! I love two characters having to walk through each other's shoes and learn stuff about each other! Some cool ones even make it so they experience physical sensations or think differently and get to know the other person better.

Can someone recommend throuple works? Preferably one where the MC isn't picking between the two of them at the end. I don't care for the format, manga/manhwa/novel is all fine.

Same thoughts! It was so unnecessary. I didn't find it cute at all.

>I love two characters having to walk through each other's shoes and learn stuff about each other!

If they still have sex in their swapped bodies, is it self-cest?

It is pretty much shotacon. The difference is that its seen simply as another gimmick like putting a character in a maid dress.

>Trope I hate: one guy magically turns into a child, his love interest has to take care of him
I'll forgive this if it's badfic written by an obvious tween—to them it's a perfect fusion of cute babies and chaste romance, and a thirteen year old probably doesn't get exactly why it's as disturbing as it is. But I think it's really creepy when adults write it. It's shotacon, but almost worse, because it's sort of slyly trying to not be shotacon at the same times. It feels almost like EPI.

 No.6841

>>6840
>But I think it's really creepy when adults write it.
Isn't it? Even if there is 0 innuendo, you just know the purpose is shotacon fanservice, otherwise why include it? If the creator wanted a childcare subplot cause 'children = cute', they would introduce a random kid the couple has to take care of for a while (like a relative, a lost/abandoned child, a brat from the neighbourhood etc.).

Kek when I first read saw that post I thought 'I like that trope because it feels like fanservice for shotafags like me'… Though I always assumed normal people wouldn't see it this way. I'm kind of glad you are saying this and it's not only my degen delusions

There will be a new heatwave when I'll go to Paris and on top of that I've been a bit sick for a few days and my period will probably start the same day I'll go to Paris for this year's Japan Expo, I'll see if I can still go because I already paid for the train tickets but this is worrying me a little. On top of that there are more guests I'd like to see as well on Friday and depending on the timing, this could be difficult for me to see everyone. Noeve invited Kotteri and will release the last volumes of Veil in French, I'd like to meet her as well and get something signed but these fuckers decided to make both the morning and afternoon schedules at the exact same time as Ogeretsu Tanaka for their meet and greet. It's like they're doing it on purpose. There's also Yusuke Kozaki who said in his own twitter account that he will come to Japan Expo but nothing was officially announced so I'm not too worried. If everything goes as planned I can meet all three of them, otherwise I'll probably prioritize Ogeretsu Tanaka.

I don't give a shit about some new random kid though. I give a shit about what a character I know and like was like as a child, especially if there's a gap between how they are now and then. It's learning something else about them.

>I give a shit about what a character I know and like was like as a child, especially if there's a gap between how they are now and then. It's learning something else about them.
This could be easily achieved by any other writing device, like shared/recorded memories, flashbacks, 'going back to the past' etc. No need to introduce shota fanservice.

I wouldn’t care either way but usually when I see this trope it’s not shota-like at all. It’s like that trope where one gets transformed into an animal or vice versa. It’s just a silly situation to put the characters through.

 No.6906

I'm not a shotacon and dislike shota but I like the trope… Especially when it's a significantly older character who gets turned into a kid, letting the younger characters take care of him. Just a silly situation that I honestly wouldn't include in a story, just a fun short scenario to think about.

I can finally post about Japan Expo without my laptop exploding from the heat. I only went there for one day, I wasn't sick anymore by then so it wasn't too bad. I couldn't do as many things as planned. I couldn't meet Ogeretsu Tanaka after all because the number of people who could meet her was limited to 100 per day and her fans on Friday most likely paid a fast pass ticket instead of a regular ticket to start the con at 9am instead of 9:45 just to make sure they could buy her stuff and get in line on time. One of publishing company employee in the booth told me it was already too late but I could come back tomorrow which was not possible because no way in hell I'm paying for expensive train tickets and an expensive convention ticket at the last minute just to maybe have a chance at getting something signed. So I decided to only buy two manga:
>Filled by Twilight volume 2, which I haven't read yet because I forgot what the first volume is about so I'll read that one again first
>Lullaby of the Dawn volume 6, which was okay I guess but I'm still a bit annoyed that the plot twist is that the island is located in our world. I wanted it to be a series taking place in another world entirely
They're new releases and sequels to series I already started and will only be available elsewhere in a few weeks. I didn't see myself carrying lots of books I could buy later in a bookstore when I needed to take the train back home later that day.

However I managed to get an autograph by Kotteri so that's cool, even if it was still as horribly organized as in 2022 and I had to insist like 10 times because the employees kept forgetting to give me the ticket. Don't ask for pictures, I somehow forgot to take any and they were forbidden the few times I wanted to take photos.

There was one, but yesterday, so on Saturday. And I only went to Japan Expo on Friday so I missed it. I was really hesitating between going on Friday and Saturday and I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on a hotel room but I picked Friday thinking there would be less people (wrong according to people going all four days) and to see things related to Persona because the Atlus guests were only in Paris the first two days. Now I kind of regret not taking both days because I really doubt recording the panel with Ogeretsu Tanaka was allowed and I bet the only ones who will talk about it will be these cliquey influencers who exclusively post super long disorganised podcasts about BL released in France.

I don't know, I miss old school blogs with mostly texts and a few pictures here and there. Now we have random people talking for 1h30 in a row on video and they go off topic for half of the video but not in just one section of the video so it quickly becomes a waste of time. And it's not like you and I can watch videos anytime, I often read stuff on my phone when commuting to work or even anywhere else, but I never do that with videos because it's just not convenient.

I finished reading the second volume of Hakumei ni Michiru just now, after reading the first volume again for the first time in forever. It ends with a crazy cliffhanger and it pisses me off that the next volume will be officially translated and released where I am next year at best. By the way, is it just me or is the beginning of the story kind of rushed? Reading the first volume last year already gave me that impression, but starting the manga from the beginning made me feel like I still somehow missed either an entire volume before the first one, or like I accidentally skipped chapters. It's not as bad in the second volume though but still.
