I don't even know if this belongs in this thread, but has anyone else read Feeding Lamb? I'm only like a chapter(?) in but jesus this is fucked up. I am so in love with the art style though, it reminds me of the walking dead kek.

 No.1398

>>1397
Feeding Lamb will always be based and I think other anons here would agree. Let us know your full opinion once you're done with it, I'm curious to know how you'll find it!

Do you guys prefer full on yaoi with the hot steamy sex or more soft romantic bl?

Read an interesting one yesterday Melancholy Melancholic Melancholinist. It featured a salaryman and a dentist. I love works with older men and had never read a story with a dentist before, interesting.

 No.1414

>>1412
I preffer more soft romantic bl, it's a turn-off for me when there are too many sex scenes, I preffer it to focus on the story and characters.
>>1405
I've read it too! Didn't really like the wolf guy, but his brother reminds me of Beloved from Loveless.

 No.1432>>1436

This manga…is pretty good!Parallel world shenanigans are so fun to read

 No.1436

dont scroll, hide and report

>>1432
I thought this manga was pretty wholesome too, I would even read a second volume where the main couple are explored along the new side couple

 No.1469

I read Pornographer online, and then bought the book like a month ago. Are the sequel and prequel good? If they are, I will order them so I can read them as well. I'm also considering getting Hate My MIA, since it's published in my country too. I'm hesitating with Zetsubou ni Nake, I like the art a lot but it's been a while since I read it online and since the chapters are getting released slowly I always forget what's going on. And how is Sleeping Dead? Is it depressing, is it funny, or is it serious?

 No.1504

I miss Enzou, it' has been years since I saw them make another BL

 No.1518

Loved this. It was really funny and sweet, and I love untrustworthy/dangerous semes.

 No.1783

Reading Nocturnal Dogs by YOICHI Makina tonight before bed, cover art and first pages are well done. MrM didn't provide a summary so I'm not what the story is about other than it is a vampire manga. Hope I won't be disappointed!

 No.1897

Outcasts Bound by Fate by Tobi Washio is pretty good, and chapter 3 is especially cute, he design of the tengu is my favourite part, I love their headdresses. Hopefully they would fully translate it and not leave it at chapter 3 or 4 like the other Tobi Washio mangas

 No.1913>>1984

I heard about Hate My MIA because it got released in my country and the story seems funny, but I can't find scans online. I want to read at least the first chapter before buying it. Does anyone know if there's a fan translation somewhere online?

 No.1984>>2014

>>1913
Since I still couldn't find a fan translation and I assume nobody else could as well or nobody saw my post, I just bought the manga yesterday and read it. It's funny as fuck. All the characters are really stupid, I had to take breaks sometimes because they were so retarded I was embarrassed for them.

 No.2014>>2015

Sounds nice anon, now I kinda wanna try it. What was your favorite moment/post a favorite panel or page? I'd like to know more if I gotta buy to read.

10 months later I find this post and Scars only has 2 chapters out. Fuck me. It looks super interesting too, but I don't want to start it just for it to never finish.

Read this today and while I thought it was unremarkable it awoke a love of the bellboy aesthetic. Anyone know any (preferably good) BL stories with this character type?

Naono Bohra's art is so lovely. I recently read Dakishimetakunai and I couldn't help but swoon over every page. The stories featured were great, with my favorites being the first two. Overall, it was a fun read. I definitely plan on reading more of her works.

 No.2726>>3225

Smells Like Green Spirit has to be the most misogynistic BL manga I've ever read. I know misogyny has always been part of BL and thankfully has become less in recent times, which only makes the matter worse because it's modern BL. It combines the worst trope of BL with the second worst: homosexuality, specifically attempts at capturing the actual 3dpd homo experience. While there has been about a single "it's so difficult to be a gay man" story I liked, Smells Like Green Spirit is the only one I absolutly hate. If it weren't for all the crossdressing men can pass as women comments made by background characters, I could have believed that the authors intention was to show how gay men are either hsts or pedophile rapist who both vocally hate women. The main character who used to steal his mothers makeup is one step away from trooning out, women are being portrayed as disgusting and ugly and they irreparably ruin poor gay mens lifes while said rapist gets not only a tragic backstory but also a sequel, which is what made me remember this manga in the first place. Smells Like Green Spirit is an insult to BL. Unless the mangaka secretly is an ultra based homophobe,if that is the case, kudos to her.

 No.2727>>2728>>2729

I saw this one the other day at my local comic book store as well as its second volume (French translation) and I thought it was pretty cute! It's a very comfy shonen-ai and even if the main guy can be pretty dumb at times, it's all because of normal misunderstandings that actually would happen in actual relationships. I can recommend for a cute casual reading, the art in the video game sections is also adorable. I hope they translate volume 3 soon cuz I can't read Japanese, at least not yet.

 No.2728

>>2727
I read this one last month, there's a full English translation floating about. Very fun, didn't expect to enjoy the boys other than MC because they're not my type of design, but the tall determined schoolboy was very moe. Actually, I might have made a post vaguely referring to it on /ot/. Oh god. I've already pingponged around several other series since and nearly forgot.

 No.2729

>>2727
I read the English fan translation months ago online and kinda forgot what happens in the story, but I remember finding it cute. Not sure I would buy the volumes though. French manga keep getting a bit more and more expensive but I also don't like buying ongoing series in case I start disliking it later so maybe I'll check the scans again later.

 No.2743>>2753

I bought some BL manga online with a gift card and I can pick up my order today, I'll run to get everything in one hour or so. I hope everything will be uncensored.

 No.2753

>>2743
So I bought and read Karisome Bitch Minami-kun in French and holy shit the typos… Sometimes I had no clue if the characters were saying affirmative or negative sentences because they're just forget to say a whole word. For some reason I didn't expect the story to be so cutesy because it's about two guys hooking up like once or twice per chapter and the very first scene is about the two of them fucking in the seme's apartment as soon as they get there but it was overall very romantic. I didn't give a shit about the second pairing and wish they didn't exist so I could see Takane and Minami a bit more but they're almost absent in the last 3 chapters in the second volume. Anyway, it was fun and cute but nothing ground breaking. I haven't read the other manga I ordered yet.

I'm still waiting for the French publisher to release the second volume of Sonna ni iu nara daite yaru because they said it would get released in 2023 and there's still no news. I also hope another publisher will say if they're publish the Oni to Tengoku sequel someday because I want more Aoki. I know there's a fan translation and I read it already but I like reading physical copies without any censorship. There's absolutely no info about that. I guess the first volumes didn't sell enough in France or since it's technically a different series the publishers would need to negotiate another contract? Who knows.

Speaking of Nakamura Asumiko, what did you guys think of J no Subete?

 No.2773

>bought the first volume of Lala no Kekkon in French because BL is often uncensored here and I have more than enough money to do it
>the publishing company won't be one of the two big ones but Noeve Grafx, which is fucking retarded and incompetent
>the book is fully censored just like in Japanese
>stupidly thought they wouldn't make the same mistake with the second volume
>they did
>still no release date for the 5th volume of Veil and the 4th volume's deluxe edition is still incomplete more than a year after Noeve Grafx released it so I look it up
>a shit ton of people complain online about how they start a bunch of series and never, ever finish them
Anons pray for me that Lala no Kekkon won't be axed in French. Please.

I vaguely remember they published Eerie Queerie! (jp: Ghost!) back in like 2003. That was like the only BL besides Gravitation and Fake I even remember being in physical print in America at the time (and the last volume of Fake had plastic wrap so you couldn't see the nsfw–do they still do that?).

I finally made an account on SuBLime manga's site to look for and bookmark interesting titles for later and I'd definitely eat some of this stuff up. Instead of bitching about BL anime adaptations only being modern slice of life most of the time I should make an effort to read more manga.

Ayano Yamane was my GOAT back in the day. Viewfinder was my favorite (and it ended up with a lot of English fanfics, which original BL rarely does). It's over 20 years old and still going at a glacial pace, although it seems like it's gonna end for real real at the end of this arc.

I want to rec the BL manga 'Momo to Manji' to any fellow historyfags.

It's heavily inspired by Edo-era Japanese woodprints, down to the characters having shaved heads and top-knots. Before you go 'ick', the art is very good, and the story is also heavily, heavily well-researched, the authors enthusiasm really shines. Shaved heads and baldness in general isn't my thing, but in the hands of this mangaka, you can see she loves the world so much that it's infectious.

It's a slice-of-life story about a former child prostitute and a former fireman living together and having a lot of fundoshi-fetishizing sex in a very accurate early 19th century JP town.

Excellent taste. I'm the type of weeb who is really fixated on historical japanese settings and tropes so back when I first started reading this it was like catnip to me. Same thing that made Yuki and Matsu resonate with me.

hey now, i actually rather liked smells like green spirit but i'm the total opposite of you in that i really like the trope of bl having actual homosexuality because males having any attraction to women is gross to me and the permanent state of homosexuality is sexy especially when theres angst about it.
ngl i do agree that there was way too much empathises on how girlypop the two male leads were as it was a bit too troony for my liking, i'd disagree that all the female characters were portrayed negatively as the mc's mum was shown to be one of the only non-homphobic characters
>while said rapist gets not only a tragic backstory abut also a sequel
omg stop, pedo-kun is actually my husbando, I love the absolute melodrama and insanity he brings to the manga
my only real issue with the manga is once again the subtextual troonery and also the blond being a straightfag who's "only gay for you" which was kinda retarded if the manga wanted to go the realistic route, also i wanted the two main homos to get together but alas desu

I started Tourou No Ori/Mantis Cage today. This might be one of the best BL, if not manga i've ever read. Every single page packs so much emotion and intensity, Psyche Delico is a genius. I love finding female mangaka with the same brainworms as me, every ero scene is perfect and plays out exactly like how i'd want it to go. It's so wicked, so savory.
Last time i had such fun with original BL was when i started reading Asumiko's BL works. I think i'll buy the whole manga in paperback aswell
>>2772
>what did you guys think of J no Subete?
Adored it. It felt almost too good to be true, to see someone as talented as her release something that's so 'old school yaoi' in spirit. I usually lust over the uke but Paul is stunning. I was impressed with how she nailed the equilibrium between 'exploitative' (=fun) angst and heartfelt depictions of trauma. The prequel was such a blast, too

 No.3247

I assumed you were baiting the first 5 times I read your reply but to be fair I've never seen anyone aside from me hating it. I understand liking homosexuality in BL due to the taboo aspect of it but
>males having any attraction to women is gross to me
So men being attracted to women is gross but them hating women isn't? I've read BL where male characters had graphic sex with women and I didn't like that either but they also shouldn't be constantly speaking negatively of them. And that's my issue rather than my own homophobia. The excerpt you posted literally has the faggot who's about to rape the soon-to-be-tranny mentioning his evil mother. And that scene where one character thinks about how gross women's bodies are and then throws up for comedic effect. Like what the fuck was that. Also the mc's mother is either the mangakas self-insert or her editor was responsible. I just can't comprehend how anyone could look past the tranny shit or the misogyny.
