>>13277Thanks for the suggestions, nonnie. I've played FFXIV for a number of years, and the rp community is littered with self-inserters and Aidens. There's a ton of Japanese fujos having fun shipping their OCs so maybe it's better on that side of things?
The thought of starting my own 30+ roleplay/writing discord has been on my mind. Maybe in the summer once my work winds down.

>>13257I wish I'd gotten into RP back on LJ. An irl friend was really into them and invited me, but every comm I applied to rejected me with comments exaggerating or willfully misrepresenting the characters I was writing. It pissed me off so bad because I could see the users in the comm breaking the supposed rules on character creation that I had, but they were always friends of the mods who shared more comms with them. It never felt like something I could join as an outsider, and I always felt like people's annoying junior because I
was young and I hadn't any experience past kiddy forums.
It's always been a huge regret of mine that I quit writing RP and fanfic because 4chan taught me to scorn it, and then I on-off quit writing original works because college would tell me fantasy, mythology, and folktales were a lowbrow crime against literature. I escaped into writing poetry because suddenly fantastical elements were fine there, but you know how fandom treats poetry, so after college I quit doing that seriously too. I've got no discipline in anything now and presenting OCs to people makes me feel like a child.

I hate that I'll never look as good in a frilly dress as a petite asian girl would. It's not even a weight thing cause I already lost weight and I'm in good health. There's literally just nothing I can do about it with my nordic genes.
No.13309
>>13299Cynicism is the enemy of creativity. I was also taught to think all of the things you listed are "cringe" and it took me years and a new friend group to do the deprogramming from that mindset. I didn't RP for years despite loving it but after biting the bullet and trying out TTRPGs I found a fujo community in that hobby and found joy in roleplaying and creating OCs to play as. I still get twinges of internalized cringe sometimes but they've become less and less common.
>>13257The same thing happened to me, nonna. Lost an RP partner of many years when she got occupied with real life things and just let years of worldbuilding, OCs and collaborative writing go down the drain. It was genuinely as mentally taxing as a breakup from a long-term relationship and I also felt like a schizo for losing sleep and ugly crying over it despite us still staying good friends and doing everything else but the roleplaying. But honestly, having the rug pulled from under something you built and enjoyed for such a long time and created a true connection over hurts no matter what the circumstances are. I got into solo writing for some time to fulfill my creative desires and found enjoyment in that as well, but by chance I came across a new group (see above) to play with. Took me a while to open my heart again and I was constantly alert about being abandoned yet again but it was worth the risk. But I learned my lesson, I'm not relying on the roleplaying setting for my singular creative outlet but also keeping an original project on the side to avoid being consumed like the last time. Roleplaying partners over 30 are still out there, but they're flying under the radar. And Sometimes they're dormant and you have to be the one to rekindle their old love for roleplaying that they once lost.

>>13308When you don't suit kawaii jfashion but still want to wear frilly stuff the only ways to kinda solve it are either use OCs/characters as paperdolls or look to more vintage/historical rooted styles, because there were plenty of ruffles, lace, bows, wide collars, etc in western women's fashion before (and they're ironically starting to come back in but because of Jfashion)
Alternatively you could look at some tall lolitas for inspiration?
No.13311
>>13310Same anon adding on to this, with jfashion it really depends on what style you want to wear but even some sweet lolita brands have a few more mature style dresses/blouses, and if you like gothic style then brands like Sheglit and Physical Drop have some nice longer dresses. You might also find some casual brand stuff that you like if you have a look on ClosetChild. My personal favorite is an another angelus, but that's because I also like vintage style.
No.13312
>>13308anon… this is just false. if you're in good health and relatively thin, you can still wear this style. how tall are you? lolita brands are more inclusive than ever. if it's your face that's the problem, just wear a face mask/put a sticker over your coord photos lmao.
No.13314
>>13308What are you talking about? As long as you dress to your features and the clothes fit your body then nothing is stopping you from wearing J-fashion. In fact for J-fashion (or any Asian clothing) being thin and lithe is the number one factor that determines if you look good. As long as you’re not a hambeast, that’s all that matters. If you are tall (>165 cm) (I’m guessing that’s what you mean by Nordic genes) you will need to watch out for things like skirt and sleeve lengths but imo being tall and thin is the perfect body type for j-fashion. Oldfags from the /cgl/ + LJ days will remember Chokelate, who also did fashion modeling as a career.
I’d say the only major thing is don’t be fat but it’s not like that stops overweight people from dressing in J-fashion. Don’t make limitations for enjoying your life.

No.13319
>>13314I mean if you have very strong facial features you have less chance of suiting certain styling (twintails, miniskirts, OTKs, school uniform style, the latter three may be difficult for you to pull off as 'cute' instead of 'sexy') but that's also a problem that comes for everyone with age even if you weren't blessed in the genes department (or if you were just born naturally busty/curvy, even). I'm not tall but my face has never been 'cute' even in my teens and now I'm heading towards 30 and dreading my features hollowing out even more, but, what can you do.
There are plenty of Asian girls who didn't win the face lottery either though, so it's not like being born another race would automatically change things. Enjoy wearing what makes you happy but learn how to style it in a way that suits you best, I guess…
No.13320
>>13319why does everyone think that jfashion = cute? there are several different styles within jfashion that don't necessarily fit within the "cute" mold, some even within lolita like gothic and classic. i'd argue that aging suits these type of styles even more. most of my friends who also wear these styles are
35-40 and look completely fine…
No.13321
>>13319Even if you have stronger facial features, part of the magic of J-fashion is the styling. Hair styling makeup and coordination is as much important to the outfit as the clothes themselves. An EGL outfit without makeup and hair looks incomplete. Also not all of those Asian women naturally look like teenagers; they are just normal women who know how to apply makeup strategically and use accessories like circle lenses, false lashes and wigs to create a certain look. Also, like
>>13320 said not all J-fashion automatically means cutesy - there are more elegant or mature styles even within EGL.
> my face has never been 'cute' even in my teens and now I'm heading towards 30 and dreading my features hollowing out even moreIf you’re not even 30 and dreading aging tbh I think that’s kind of bleak.

>>13321I personally don't wear makeup and never plan to, I do skincare but makeup just makes me look both like a drag queen and much older so I avoid it like the plague. It does mean I have less options for hiding flaws (including age related) but my style is pretty casual anyway.
Have seen a lot of more famous western lolitas with very unflattering makeup styles too. Not saying it looks bad on everybody of course.
Many lolitas also do pretty simple everyday hairstyles like basic unstyled bob with bangs, I never liked the OTT wigs trend myself.

No.13545
I've somehow found myself in a toxic but small fandom, and I'm not sure how to proceed. I almost just want to quit entirely.
I ship A/B, but there is an opposing (and more popular) ship A/C. I was cordial and friendly with people who liked ship A/C for a bit because that's kind of how I've always been, but I began to distance myself from them because I find their reasoning for shipping this pairing to be inconclusive and, most importantly, at odds with my greater understanding of the source material.
Even still, a mismatch of understanding would have been okay! That's bound to happen! But these same fans act like their interpretation is The Only Right One, that everything else is OOC, and that fans of A/B are looking too deeply into certain aspects of the story and misrepresenting it to further the A/B agenda (lol?). Honestly, I find this attitude to be intolerable, particularly when they do this exact same thing. On some level, all fans of a ship insert their own biases onto how they view a character's lines or scenes, so it literally feels like some "rules for thee, but not for me" type shit. I could go into specifics, because some of it is really out there, but for sake of anonymity, I won't.
So, for the more egregious A/C shippers, I started blocking them. I don't think that's unreasonable, but I guess it upset one of them specifically. I'm not sure why, considering we don't interact anyway, and I'm not even anyone prolific in the fandom, but we do have a few mutuals and one "close" friend mutual. I think having a shared friend is somehow making it worse, because this friend likes A/B but often hangs out in A/C spaces.
Or is that paranoia?
No.13546
>>13545I mean, if you don't know this person and they don't do anything like jeopardize your friendship with the mutual friend, I would just ignore them. I'd block anyone who likes a particular pairing I abhor if I used anything other than AO3 to follow fandom and it's obviously not personal-you just don't need to see/read about a couple you fundamentally don't like which is much better than getting constantly ragebaited kek

A. The ability to load a specific character voice.
B. The ability to do full novels.
I'd love to be able to make custom audiobooks not of fanfiction but for contemporary lit that isn't popular enough to have an official audiobook.
Does this have a length/character limit?
No.13569
>>13568It doesn't let you load a specific character voice that I've seen, unless you can find a way to do it through kokoro (I've seen people on reddit say you could use this)…
However, there is no length or character limit, which is why I chose this site. I'm honestly kinda dumb, but I just made an hour and a half audiobook for myself. For reference, the fanfiction I used was just over 9,000 words, and it created the audio file really fast for how big it was. I was surprised.

I HATE dom bottoms, and by extension, reverse rape. Oh no, forced to penetrate, who gives a fuck? Why would a man, trying to humiliate another one, bottom to do so? Rape his ass! Nothing is a worst, lamer fate for a character than for them to be assigned this role by the fandom. I don't believe for a second some evil ass motherfucker would want to be fucked, unless they're a schizo faggot, but they never write them as it.
No.13863
>>13862I completely agree. Bottoming is vulnerability.
I read a fic where the bad guy possessed character A, defeated character B in character A's body, told character B that character A liked him, and then made character B suck his dick and fuck him in the ass. Or else he would torture character A's body.
I liked it but wanted to see the bad guy fuck character B as character A. So I wrote my own fic where character B gets raped and fucked by both the bad guy and character A. Also character B is an older and much bigger than character A, so the reverse pair order would be unpopular.

>>13862>I don't believe for a second some evil ass motherfucker would want to be fuckedWhy not? I can definitely see a character like Dio doing so, he doesn't really care. It depends from character to character.
I like powerbottoms and reverse rape, depending on the situation, forcing to "please" someone they don't like / aren't attracted to is fun and there's another factor in whether they're enjoying fucking them or not. You can make a similar argument for whether the bottom is enjoying getting fucked instead but in the end it all just depends on preferences
No.13866
Omegaverse should do hungry buttsluts who manipulate other men into fucking them. Special circumstances like succubi, heats, pheromones, sex pollen, drugs, all those make it easier to do reverse rape scenarios but I never see people talk about it outside of mob. I want hunter becoming the hunted for the expressions and panic but top getting topped isn't the same. There's more confusion if he still technically topped, and it denies the power of his top position. You can work in guilt like he's ashamed of letting it happen and still orgasming but he doesn't feel like he has room to complain because he never switched. He thinks nobody would understand if he tried to explain and maybe they'd think he's pathetic or nitpicking.
There's a BL with pseudo reverse rape where the bottom changes position to riding on top and scares the top with personality switching. I liked the promiscuous top feeling like he lost control after being so confident. Notorious boy fucker not so smug after getting his dick trapped in Ichigo's wild ride.
I can only imagine how many times people write this badly though. Powerbottom is such a buzzword these days. Like they want to "empower" the bottom instead of actually having a kink. You have to either make a full dynamic from the bottom up or create magical sex circumstances.
