Not sure it counts as a BL concept but I always wanted to write something really self indulgent, based on a bunch of ideas I've got from stories I've liked until now, personal anecdotes, people I know, my own interests and hobbies, etc. The thing is, my ideas are mostly around female characters, but there's a twist with one of the few important male characters: he would be in a secret relationship with another important guy that only shows up later because the second male characters doesn't important things behind everyone's back. The more I took notes, the longer that shit became and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to write anything like this one day anyway, I'm not sure where to start.

I would never think about publishing or posting any of this story though, it's more of a stupid idea I had forever, and when I was in high school I was even talking about it with friends and drawing my OCs and we would give each other ideas but I didn't have a computer back then so I couldn't really practice art unless I was only drawing shitty doodles and I couldn't write anything on my own device whenever I wanted, and then I got too busy to indulge in most hobbies once I started university. It's been a very long time since then though.

2) A & B are originally humans, at least one does science and stuff. Shit goes wrong in the lab, except it's not noticeable right away (ex: spores floating in the air) but it affects their biology. They progressively both transform and fall in love as they share the struggle.

You could also have A & B not like each other initially, for more tension, regardless of setting. In the end, they both need each other. Not sure about the "fusing bodies" though, it's a more spiritual relationship then, is it?

Speaking of using 80s movies as inspiration you remember Neverending Story? The main plot is a boy who reads a novel is actually a character/force in the story and the main character he's reading about is just along for the ride. It makes me think of a reader or writer developing a crush on one of the characters in the novel they're reading only to realize they aren't so fictional.

idk I'd love to read it, but I don't feel creative enough to write something like that.

I had this idea in my head of a man who's cursed so that he can't die and he hires an assassin to help him find a way to die. The man's logic behind it is that if the assassin doesn't find a way to kill him it will bring shame upon the assassin clan. Naturally as they spend more time together they grow closer and closer. I do have a nagging feeling that I subconsciously took this concept of "Undying person ropes someone into their plan to try and die" from somewhere but I can't remember where.

There's a lot of vague abstract concepts I come up with but I want to make a BL about an incel / virgin who gets dominated. Maybe the seme can be an alien (looks like picrel) who probes his ass. Anyways, the previously "straight" virgin is humiliated having another man cum in his ass but eventually falls in love with the alien. The alien loves him back and eventually lays eggs into him. They then become a couple and raise children.

I was thinking more about the alien concept and maybe the alien is earniestly trying to find a human partner to mate with and become part of human society with. So he takes a human-ish form and lurks around a college campus where the protagonist is. Maybe the protagonist is too shy and frustrated to get girls so he lurks around alone. Maybe he does something nice for the alien like hold a door open, so the alien stalks him and takes him away. I love how earnest Hikaru was in The Summer Hikaru Died for Yoshiki. I'm kind of flustered imagining my hypothetical protagonist getting pounded by alien dick and made to lay eggs lol. I would draw this out, but my art style is very identifiable.

I really want a gooey, festering kind of dying Earth setting with weird magic and decaying castles, corrupted people, just crazy blood curses and over-the-top fantastical fashion but its still about two guys in this setting fucking. I just want that rotten, melancholic setting with a dark humor to it but BL. Very heavy on the visuals, not a lot of plot since it'll be a typical pulp of traveling to decimated cities, I think I'd like a reluctant duo with one of them being a sort of puppet master type that forced the other under his control, and he just drags them around like a dog, like maybe a fairy folk that haunted the other mans village as a child and he managed to trap him and bind him the fucked up state that Earth is now in, maybe the fae kidnapped a younger sibling and now despite being this magical, cunning creature he's a dirty hunters belonging as revenge for what he did decades ago.

Had a similar idea about a boy being grown/created from the magical flesh of a sacred creature, but then he's dragged around by the man who assassinated his creator after being spoiled/worshipped. It's really traumatic, but he's also a bit otherworldly in a way where human ideas of morality/tragedy doesn't really affect him. Similar situation as the fae, but he'd be more willing in his loss of purity, kind of a spoiled retard.

I've got this idea: a tough guy–japanese SWAT (which has like, almost no publicly available information, btw), outwardly he's really macho, tall, muscular, etc, but he loves girly fashion (liz lisa, axes femme, honey, etc), and like, sanrio. I love opposites attract stories and niche japanese fashion subcultures. No idea whatsoever how a story about them would play out, so I'll need to workshop that, but its a start!

I like the whole "I got reincarnated into a character of this book/game" concept, something like SVSS or I'm In Love With the Villainess. But the problem for me with those types of story is the love interest being a fictional character, it feels a bit fake to ship them with a real person, like the relationship lacks depth. So then I was imagining a story where both the MC and love interest are real people sucked into the fictional world somehow. The MC gets reincarnated as the villain and he finds that a troublesome guy he knew in his old world is the hero(could also be vice-versa). The MC just wants to either go back or live peacefully, but the other guy is an idiot chuunibyou type who gets really into being the character and starts trying to pull some isekai protag BS and the MC has to run around getting him out of trouble.

As for their personalities, I imagine the MC as an unpopular loner, but a chill quiet one, not an incel type. As for the love interest, he has friends but he is basically the punching bag of his friend group, like the guy they keep around just to make fun of and only pretend to like. The MC is kind-hearted and feels empathy for the LI even though he's annoying and helps him out but the LI is a dick to him. Eventually though they get closer, MC saves LI from dying or something and he gradually falls in love with him+lets down his defenses and starts being more genuine. It could end either with them both going back to their IRL lives but having each other now, or leading a new life together in the game world. Not too sure on the relationship between the two pre-isekai, could be something like estranged childhood friends maybe.

Maybe he decides he can neutralize the villain's threat by baiting him into a "friendship". Maybe he keeps second guessing kind actions as a trap, he only rescued me because he intends to use me for [absurd thing MC never thought of]. Maybe MC starts worrying that he's actually doting on the LI at this point and is getting too involved in his well being, and tries to act colder but can't help it. "I love him like the neighbor's puppy who kept getting himself tied up in his own rope in the yard, that's all, it's nothing more than that!" And then [major plot event from the original story] forces them to something something and conversations have to happen.

Nonas, is it more interesting if a character loses an arm that has self harm scars, or if he loses the non-harmed arm instead? I am workshopping an idea, and without getting into too many details, the character in question is military and keeps a guilt tally of the people who he has killed. At some point he needs to lose an arm, and I don't know which one would be more tragic: if he loses the tally/guilt arm, then he's lost the only way he remembers the lives he's taken, and if he loses the other arm, then he only has the injured one left. I feel like the obvious answer is the tally arm, but wanted an external opinion.

I was toying with this idea of some sort of power imbalance in the 1890s between some Earl or something and his assistant. I do love me my age gaps and late Victorian stylings, and it would be very interesting (going off some discussion from a few months ago on here), if the seme could still seme without actually fucking the uke. The only real ideas I have thus far are the seme making the uke use a glory hole (as in, move his hips forward) and ye olde sybian.

I had an idea for some sort of fairytale analouge, maybe a take on the lindworm or a werewolf or something. Nona, idk if you'll see this, but there's a Taiwanese (? I'm assuming Taiwanese BL authors can show explicit sex vs Chinese ones) webtoon called Moretones that sorta fills this niche. But, YMMV because it has a lot of rape in it between the caretaker (the older uke) and the patient (younger seme) and they first met when the seme was very young. They're "cousins" but I'm pretty sure they aren't actually related. It's a wild ride and I was bewildered everytime I tried reading it.
