Do they exist?
Have you ever met one, in real life or online?
What do you think about them, actually and theoretically?
Do you think any use fujochan?

The only one I know about is LittleKuriboh, the guy who did Yu-Gi-Oh abridged, he wrote yaoi Yu-Gi-Oh fanfiction and earnestly shipped Yami Bakura x Marik

I have never personally interacted with one. I know m/m content made by gay men is usually pretty gross so I would be curious if anyone knows if there are any tell-tale signs when you're dealing with Fudanshi works. Are they quite as messy?

Theoretically I've seen so little of them I don't have a strong opinion I guess mentally I find it weird for a man to be so into bl without being gay, but it's not like he's harming anyone. I doubt any use this site since we're so small.

I've seen a bunch of young fudanshi in cons from afar because they always hang out with their fujoshi friends and sperg together about manga in general, including BL manga. In my local con there was a guy a few years ago who was always dressed like a hardcore visual kei fanboy depsite his age and who would recommend BL manga from the publishing company he was working for, it was obvious he read all that stuff for his own personal entertainment instead of just being there for marketing purposes. He works for another company now and I haven't returned to that con anyway for different reasons.

The only one fudanshi I know more personally is a turbo gay white guy who looked like a total normie until he opened his mouth. He tried to befriend me when we met in uni because I preordered Dangan Ronpa on the PS Vita and he loved the anime and we were into the same video games and manga in general, but he was an asshole to some of the girls I befriended so we never got very close because it pissed me off. At some point I found his twitter account and I remember seeing a post where he sperged about how he wanted Sebastian from Black Butler to do inappropriate things to him, it was said in a nostalgic way so I have no clue if Sebastian is still his husbando. He was the type to ship pairings in whatever games or manga or shows he likes without touching actual BL. btw, he also turned out to be a huge TRA so I dodged a bullet.

The only fudanshi I've seen are in western fandom and they love to bite the hand that feeds them and overestimate their importance. I never see them in Japanese fandom despite hanging out there more often so if they exist over there they mind their business and don't attention whore about it.

I find the western ones fall into one of two camps: either gotten too high off woke farts and wanna use their gayness to be treated like a king, or hang around incel nerds too often that they delusionally think straight men will like them if they obsessively shit on women hard enough.

Anecdotally I have posted BL on pixiv and if you have premium you can see a breakdown of male/female viewing your work. There have been surprising numbers of men at times. I mentally assume 99% are weeb ftms but probably not all. There was one time my fanfic was bookmarked by what seemed to be a Japanese guy who had a lot of male selfinsert yume fic in his faves, which I didn't realise existed. (My fic was a game protagonist ship) Pretty interesting.

I've seen a few straight guys in the wild who like specific pairings from games and shows, but not really fudans. Like the guys who like Snake/Otacon or unironically enjoy Brokeback Mountain, but aren't a part of greater fandom.

I only know one real fudan personally and it's a barafag who complains that there isn't enough "romance" aimed at men since apparently most bara doesn't really have that interpersonal element. Like >>9403 though he's a massive husbandofag and the fudan is secondary. They really are hard to find in the wild.

That just sounds like someone that needs to work out his personal issues with sex and doesn't have enough to go on that ends up with all kinds of mental gymnastics. Why not just go straight to reading girl's love stories or futa shit?

 No.9409

>>9408
The troon part is why they read BL. They want to be the "woman" to a man, you see it's not enough to be submissive, some men need to shoehorn their idea of "femininity" and other men into it for some reason

 No.9410

>>9409
But the dude self-IDs as straight and supposedly imagines the semes as lesbian women, and claims to be grossed out by gay sex. Sounds like he just wants to read femdom het but projects it on BL for some reason. Straight AGPs with humiliation fetish are pretty common too.

 No.9413

>>9410
>>9407
Might be that since a woman is writing it, he gets off to the idea that the seme is acting on behalf of the female writer? I've seen that being the case before in ecchi romcoms and shounen, they jerk over the thought of a woman writing something erotic.

 No.9414

>>9409
>The troon part is why they read BL. They want to be the "woman" to a man
yeah Hunter Schafer specifically wrote about it in a diary, the desire to want to be feminine and possessed by a strong man..

 No.9415

If a man is self-inserting he's not a fudan, this is the equivalent of people who erroneously refer to all female fans as fujos. Fudans are incredibly rare whereas trap porn aimed at men is common. They are not the same thing.

 No.9416

>>9410
There is a large subset of AGPs who seek men to fulfil their fetish. They aren't attracted to men outside of their AGP fantasy. This is why they project onto ukes or date tranny chasers, bit confusing but it's a big thing with troons
>>9413
>he gets off to the idea that the seme is acting on behalf of the female writer?
Yep! I thought so too, you come across guys who like fujos, it's pretty unusual for men but it's a thing. My guess is straight fudanshis in particular like the idea that fujos who stick to the seme role (rather than just enjoy the dynamic or enjoy both the uke and seme's POV). Who knows

Actual fudanshi seem extremely rare to me unless you count men with a trap / crossdresser / forcefem / troon / pseudo-bisexual AGP fetish. >shipping seems almost exclusively female
That does seem like its on par for the course since women are the ones that mostly consume romance. Shipping itself also has more to do with people's social lives and how healthy or chronically online they are.

Don't want to pry much but did that fudanshi have a normal, healthy life?

Even if weebs don't involve themselves the same way as women with shipping, they will still throw a hissy fit when their hero doesn't get the girl, although they are more prone to waifufagging to the same unhealthy levels anyway.

And I was just now checking up a group chat where someone posted a sticker of a straight couple and they later mentioned that they were their favorite pairing. They like to ship but they don't dive too deep into it.

Personally I barely ever took an interest in m/f relationships (and never touched upon f/f) and would never read romance or care about relationships. But when it came to m/m it all changed and got those feelings of fuzziness and fulfillment that are akin to having a strong crush or adoration on someone.

i do not like these guys, its not like i have a issue with them into yaoi (i think thats fine). but i seen how they behave and honestly, i dont get why we get most of the hate when these guys arent any better.

their personality only consist in being gay and liking yaoi, nothing else. they do probably have hobbies and other interests, but they barely talk about it because they want you know how much they're a fudanshi. in some cases they likely never read nor watched anything that is labeled BL/yaoi unless it is fan conent or anything western. if they tried to actually read or watch one, they'd most likely won't like it.

i know this sounds harmless, but i swear. these people are the WORST.

for some appearent reason many of them are just assholes??? i know this should be obvious because men are assholes, but i only knew two who are nice. TWO. like i seen them interact with others and they always try to start fights and piss off others. i don't know if i'm making assumption, but in many such cases; the worst kind of people i came across to are boys who are really really really into bl, not sure if they're all fudanshis but i see a pattern. they also love to say vulgar things and being open about their fetishes, i know like two or three who had the word "segma" on their username, others yell very nasty things whenver they're agruing to make their opponent leave so they can try to "win" in the agrument. they know that makes other people hate them, and that's kind of their goal. they love to be someone's annoyance. of course not all of them are like this, but many just love being an asshole.

>I know everyone here has issues with them but to me it's not something that i'm worried about
I think the point is that you can't put trans 'fudans' in the same category as regular fudans because 99% of the time their behavior is the same as fujos except with a lot more overcompensation and/or shitting on fujos to make themselves feel more valid, including the 'making yaoi their entire identity' thing. Sometimes fudans join in on the fujo bullying if they're the misogynistic type, though, but they're less likely to complain on the basis of stereotypical 'toxic yaoi tropes' and more on the fujo content not being manly enough for them.
Rule of thumb is if you see he/him or he/they in bio it's an Aiden, adjust expectations accordingly.

But in all seriousness, the fudanshis on /cm/ are funny and I don't think they hate women really. Maybe some of them have a bad relationships with their moms which happens when a conservative woman births a homosexual son, which can result in life-long traumatism. We shouldn't shit on them because you are just doing a generalisation similarly to when when people on twitter generalise all fujos as pedophiles or straight up lie and call us misogynists. Let's be serious it's straight men that have always held women down and committed violence against our bodies, meanwhile homos always had a more gentle soul and I mean do you really think that it's a homosexual that is going to beat you down or sexually harass you on the street or on the internet? This doesn't happen.

I didn't say those things are a non-issue, I said which reproductive organ one has is a non-issue, and I know it's awful that men turned it into an issue but my whole thesis is that it's straight men that rape and mistreat women, not gay incels who sometimes use the term "foid" which has been popularised all over 4chan unfortunately (but which was originally used by straight incels).

I don't know why but gay guys on 4chan cannot stop blogging about their personal lives while posting porn. Like you can open a gay furry porn thread on /trash/ and they'll be discussing their taxes and what to buy mom for her birthday.

Is this the same /vp/ guy who bugged girls for nudes on discord? He can't claim credit for /cm/ not having any assigned mods - that was the case for at least a decade before the no-girls-allowed Pokeboy threads moved over.

The only explanation I can think of for this is that they don't have many other people to connect with, so they try to bond with anons who like the same porn they do because they're that lonely.
