>>2566>How do you feel about age gap popular ships?Age gap ships are pretty fun when emphasis is put on the taboo whether that be having the older character knowingly predate on the younger one or feeling guilt/shame over it (the second one is especially good with the younger one being the aggressor).
>Which do you like? For some reason I'm more into age gap AUs for ships I already like that don't have that trope. But off the top of my head I like MobRei (MP100), TenJoh (Monster), and Yanjing (HSR). Ironically I didn't really like the age gap ship in Tsurune, I was ride or die the childhood friends pairing kek.
>Do you openly ship it?Yes, no shame there.
>What it your favored age gap?25+ year old x teenager. Late teens or young adult x shota is pretty good too.
No.2568
I like 2 different types primarily.
Father son, especially where the father feels guilty even though the son is the aggressor. Lot's of fucked up feelings as the father tries to fulfill his role in the family but also love his son. Bonus for actually incorporating the wife some how and making the relationship even more complicated. Though I'll take lonely middle aged widower and/or divorcee relishing in the only physical love he's seen felt in year. Ideally I want the father to be at least mid 30s, son could be anywhere from precocious sociopathic shota brat to horns teen exploring adolescent sexuality. I want him to be underage since it amplifies fathers guilt.
On the other end of the spectrum I like the rarer 20-30 year old with the 55+ man. It's so hard to find done well, but I like the older man being self-conscious about being old and wrinkly, no longer looking like he once did, low sex drive, xyz and young man trying to reassure him that he is indeed attracted to him despite all that. Hurt comfort fodder. Honestly people joke about "old man yaoi" and it's like 40 year Olds. Always a disappointment when I'm looking for real old man yaoi.

>Which do you like?Older, brother figure man x teenager boy just short of being an adult.
I feel like they are vibes hard to capture, everyone knows teens are horny, and teenager gay boys even so. So you have this teen boy just ready for sex and wanting to be seen as man but not quite that. On the other side you have a slightly older man who already completed his journey, maybe not even a virgin who feels like he should treasure and protect the younger boy but can't help but feel drawn and toward the younger boy's passion and enthusiasm.
Curiously, I think if the older man has less of a moral compass it doesn't feel age gap-y for me. One example is Gojo/Yuuji in JJK, because it's hard to imagine Gojo giving a shit about the age difference in contrast to Nanami.
>Do you openly ship it?Na, just in private and on imageboards. I do write fics, but I don't tell people or rt art on twitter.
>What it your favored age gap?16-17 and 24-30.
>>2568Incest for me doesn't feel as age gap. Maybe because the focus is more on other stuff than the age I think.

>How do you feel about age gap popular ships?
I don’t know what the “popular” age gap ships are, but in general, I fucking love them. It captures such a specific type of angst and taboo, and can make for some great inner-turmoil on both sides. Nothing else captures that energy. Except maybe incest.
>Which do you like?
I will ship any boy with any mentor figure in any piece of media. Currently, I’m reading a lot of Obi-Wan/Anakin. But I blame it mainly on Harry/Sirius and Harry/Remus fics back in my Harry Potter days, as well as (spoiler for incest) Yu/Dojima when I first played Persona 4. That’s given me a particular bias towards uncle and older family friend-sort of relationships, which provide the added angst of both halves trying to repress their emotions and rationalize them as something familial, even when they’re obviously not. I’m also a big fan of the younger half initiating it, but the older half has secretly been wanting it for years. Bonus points if they blame the younger one’s feelings on themselves and fears that they groomed them. Bonus bonus points if they did actually just groom them.
>Do you openly ship it?
Online? Hell yeah. I also joke about it IRL sometimes, but am not necessarily “out” about it.
>What it your favored age gap?
Older teens to early adult, shipped with late 30s to early 40s.

>>2609I like Black Butler a lot but I don't like Sebaciel. I started with the manga and was annoyed by how the first season of the anime didn't follow the manga back when it was super popular when I was in high school so I'm biased. I legit read it for the story and now I just want it to end already so we know who the fuck killed Ciel's parents and why.
No.2611
>>2606Sebaciel was pretty big back in its heyday. I imagine it must have been the cause of many fujo awakenings kek. Most people didn't make a fuss over the big age-gap because the anti mentality that 'fiction=reality' didn't really exist yet. You'd have girls saying shit like
>zomg ciel is 13?!? Guess that makes me a pedophile then rofl XDAnd everybody could tell they're just joking. I saw a video of ciel's English va doing fanservice-y lines at a panel and the crowd would just scream their heads off fangirling instead of finding it weird. Most animanga fans back then were weirdos themselves to begin with anyway. Not to mention the 'don't like, don't read' mentality was the rule of thumb. People who didn't like it just minded their business.
>>2610>I just want it to end already so we know who the fuck killed Ciel's parents and why.Do you think the manga might go in the same direction as the anime and have the main villain be
the queen? A lot of the stuff that ends up happening in the manga already happened in the anime (like the undertaker being revealed to be a reaper) so maybe the ending of the manga will be similar. I don't really know how much yana was involved with the making of the anime and its plot though, so I could be totally wrong too.
No.2612
>>2611I'm sure Yana Toboso told the studio what she planned for the manga and it gave them ideas but at the same time the execution of these ideas are very different in the anime and the manga. The same thing happened with the first anime of FMA according to the mangaka back then.
I'm sure the queen has something to do with the mass murder and she seems to have very strange ideas like when she learns about the zombies that can be used as weapons or whatever, and Undertaker hates her because of what the Phantomhives have been through. I'm sure Undertaker is Cedric, the twins, Elizabeth and Edward's grandpa. That would explain his grudge if she killed Ciel's parents because that would mean his own son got murdered and that would make wanting to revive the real Ciel very personal. I also remember an old tweet by Toboso saying that Edward and Undertaker are meant to look like each other, how daughters tend to look like their fathers and how sons look like their mothers, implying that Frances looks like Undertaker and that Edward looks like Frances. Which also implies that Vincent looks like Claudia but we never saw her. Too bad the manga is so slow these days.

>>2612I wonder what she felt about season 2 cause I wanted to come back to this thread to mention how hilarious I find it that the season 2 ending pretty much gives the degenerates what they want
cause of Ciel leaving his fiancee and having Sebastian bound to him forever. I know it's anime only but that just makes it funnier to me, as if someone was making their fanfic come true. I've been thinking I can see the appeal of the ship from one angle cause master/servant is a hot dynamic and you've got the servant being unable to refuse orders but at the same time I dunno if I could get into doujins of it cause I can't think of a scenario that would actually be in-character for Ciel.

>>3096I'm so behind on the series. The last arc I was on was the ##twin reveal##. I'm hoping to get back in soon but I feel like I need to reread from around the school arc onwards to remember the current main lore regarding the characters. Not too terrible though cause I enjoyed them minus a couple of character deaths that upset me.
I'm super excited about the new series to come out. I loved the shameless fanservice of professor Sebastian and the uniforms in the manga. I also can't wait until they do the idol arc. I honestly remember nothing plotwise from that arc but I remember it was shameless in its fanservice and I loved that side of it at least even if the plot is probably subpar. I was surprised they went the series route instead of continuing to make movies but I'm glad cause it'll give more time with the characters and mystery

>>3099Current manga readers are hyping up this upcoming Brighton arc cause the resort is known as the historical gay capital of the UK and while it's never a good idea to get swept up in hype I feel like Yana has such a huge opportunity to throw in some more fanservice and cause sheer chaos in the fandom. I just really want to see it happen.

>>2567i hope you'll still see this after 5 months nona, but who's in your picrel? it's so cute..
anyways, my favored age gap is shota/young teen x anyone older than 18. i want his formative years to be altered. i find older teen males disgusting for obvious reasons, so 12 is a perfect age for an older male to groom them into a vessel for themself and not into their own person.

>>3238! Even if you aren't into the ship the story and characters are worth it.
Not a fanon ship but for anyone into highschooler/shota pairings, Shota Oni is a nice read. Very fluffy and SFW. It has a strange amount of readers who want the shota to be aged up so it isn't problematic kek.
