>>12oihina and kagehina are both very fun ships! i've always had problems shipping kageyama with anyone - i don't know, it's just hard for me to picture - but hinata and kageyama's relationship through the series is really something so precious. i know real kagehina shippers hate this term, but i really see them as platonic soulmates.
one thing i really love about haikyuu is just how eminently shippable hinata is. you can pair most anyone in the cast with him and they'll have some kind of interesting dynamic. might just be my multishipper heart at work, of course. my hinata ship brainrot has gotten so bad that i saw a post tagged 明日 and wondered which hinata ship that was.

Anyone seen run with the wind? I got sucked into it cause it was written by shion miura and enjoyed the boys (and the story too) so much! All the guys are so refreshing and since they're not high school kids I could relate a lot more to them. I'm not really into shipping but these 2 were born for each other and their friendship is so amazing

One of their doujins on MRM was in another language and my friend translated it back into English, she said the original was very 'moid-y' and did her best to make it tolerable lol. If anyone is interested in it here is the link

>>46>>47I loved kazetsuyo! Watching it genuinely got me back into running kek I wish it were more popular, seems like it gets slept on. I guess a series about running doesn't sound as exciting to people, but the characters are great and the story is so touching I never get tired of watching it. Haiji is pure husbando material

I lowkey want to get into Haikyuu someday just because one of my favorite professional artists is really into it and made a bunch of raunchy doujinshi. But I'm really lazy these days, I can't focus when reading unless the story is somewhat short or absolutely full of crazy shit. I remember watching the very first episode in 2013 when it just aired and I was already kind of interested but I couldn't watch the rest of the first season because my laptop back then was so bad it could barely play videos. I think reading the scans could be the better option. I'll think about it.

I can't get into hq for the life of me, I watched all of season 1 and some of season 2 and I personally think it's the most boring shit ever, the characters don't even save it for me because I think most of the cast is annoying and boring too, I'd have more fun watching paint dry than watching hq
RIP

>>627my darling boys. i'm glad to see someone else loves them as much as i do! i have sadly not escaped from being obsessed with them…
>>634>>635haikyuu is a pretty 'traditional' sports manga, i'd say. the plot is very grounded and a lot of professional volleyball players have praised it as an accurate depiction of the sport. at the same time, that also means there's a lot less wacky shit that happens and a lot more focus on character interactions and character development. i really love the entire ensemble cast, but if they don't resonate with you it's probably just not your kind of series.

I don't care about volleyball at all, but hq somehow managed to gain my interest. I think the characters are actually very well written, it has some of the most realistic assholes i've ever seen in anime. It also helps that despite the tired trope of boys lusting after any girl, it doesn't have an actual romance subplot. Hinata is one of the very few shounen protags who doesn't end up in a het relationship (that's for people who thought yachi is his love interest even though it was obviously platonic from the start lol). So in terms of fujo ships, you are very free to do whatever you want, i feel like furudate was aware of the large fujo fanbase and that's why the manga ended with everyone being single, besides tanaka and kiyoko, tanaka being one of the few male characters who didn't have a popular fujo ship so it's a win for everyone. I still see some people wishing hinayachi was canon, I guess they were really disappointed that hq isn't a generic manga lol.

i'm so fucking hyped for season 5, especially since my favorite ship is FINALLY appearing… god, i've waited years for them at this point 😭😭
when i was reading the urakubo backstory, it read like 1 to 1 EXACTLY like a BL. doesn't help that right after was the legendary mountain race between
ashite that was straight up a love story too.
teshima gets so much ass, i love it. he deserves itbe prepared for pure unadulterated kino when it airs, ladies

what is it about shounen sports manga that attracts fujos? is it the huge male characters and focus on male friendships?

Some stuff like Haikyuu and Free are too pander-y for my tastes, but the genre as a whole is very easy to just sit down and watch after a long work day. Same appeal as SoL for me.

No.2022
>>2021I'm talking more in the character designs being targeted at women not the content. Sorry for the misunderstanding, I agree Haikyuu is not as fanservicey and is actually decent storywise.
I just feel the anime tries to make the characters all conventionally cute in an effort for mass appeal, even when compared to its manga counterpart. When I compare it to other sports series I like such as Eyeshield 21 or Prince of Tennis the characters just seem focus tested to get me to buy merch, even if I'm otherwise enjoying a series it's a prickling feeling in the back of my mind.
Closest comparison I can make is the recent remakes of fan-favorite series like Higurashi or Tokyo Mew Mew. Yeah the designs are roughly the same, yes a lot of the beats are still there, but it feels targeted.
