>>696Ah, beat my to it.
>Favorite superheroMaybe I'm basic but I've always loved Batman, great rouge gallery, I like the Batfamily, and the dark gothic aesthetic of most of his comics and movies is super appealing. For Marvel it'd be X-men comics, large amount of fun characters with unique powers. X-force members in particular are my favorites.
>What's your favorite supership?Spideypool - Fan content helped a lot, but also I love their canon interactions. Two light-hearted snarky friends hanging out.
Dan/Rorschach - Dan literally lets Ror just steal from him repeatedly and clearly wants to help his friend with issues. I think this ship has big hurt/comfort vibes.
Batman/Literally any of his villains - I absolutely love the way he can play off of them. Relationships with a reformed Riddler from that time when Edward ran a detective agency is a personal favorite, but I also love anytime Bruce gets non-conned by a villain.
>What superpower would you like to have?Teleportation, I would leave my house a lot more if I didn't have to drive everywhere, lol.
Here's a few more questions I think could help the thread.
>Favorite adaptation?>Any particular comics you'd rec?>Thoughts on the current state of movies and or comics?>Things, crossovers, ideas you'd like to see in the future. No.701
>Who's your favorite superhero? Not relevant to this thread but Wonder Woman. Relevant to this thread, Spider-Man.
>What's your favorite supership?DC: Dan/Rorschach. Brainiac 5/Invisible Kid. Booster Gold/Blue Beetle. Superman/Lex Luthor.
Marvel: Cap/Tony. Wolverine/Cyclops[/Emma/Jean OT4]. Thor/Loki. Xavier/Magneto. Luke Cage/Iron Fist. Spider-Man/Harry Osborn. Cable/Deadpool.
[No offense I don't understand you Spideypool girlies! Peter/Harry is RIGHT THERE! CABLE/DEADPOOL IS RIGHT THERE!]
>What superpower would you like to have?Teleportation definitely.
>Favorite adaptation?DC: Batman: Under the Red Hood is the best piece of Batman media in my opinion. DCAU. Brave and the Bold. Green Lantern: The Animated Series. Donner's Superman. Snyder's Watchmen. Wonder Woman 2009 and 2017 and the TV show. I liked the DC Animated Movie Universe too. From what I've heard The Legion of Superheroes cartoon seems like the type of thing this thread would love (I need to actually watch it).
Marvel: Phase 1 MCU. Raimi's Spider-Man. Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon. Netflix Daredevil. X-Men 1-3 and First Class. X-Men cartoon. Deadpool.
>Any particular comics you'd rec?Legally required to say "read reboot Legion of Superheroes" for this cute Green Boy (the panel I posted is from later, but he's still cute!)
https://www.amazon.com/Legionnaires-Book-One-1993-2000-ebook/dp/B06XT8GWPV/Read Cable & Deadpool! (I need to take this advice, I haven't read it since like… 2009)
Read the Spider-Man Epic Collections!
>Things, crossovers, ideas you'd like to see in the future. >Thoughts on the current state of movies and or comics?I've been out of comics for a while. I'm due for a reinvigoration of my obsession, honestly!
One of my favorite older fandom era things is Ship Manifestos on LJ.
Here's a Cap/Tony one
https://ship-manifesto.livejournal.com/204146.htmlHere's a Cable/Deadpool one, but sadly all the images are broken.

>>701you fucking get it. harry is by far the best choice for peter(and I am so obsessed with those two) but like, if you're gonna pair him with another super there's so many better options than deadpool. cable/deadpool is so good too, started reading X-Men stuff after a friend linked me a fic and now I'm in deep.
spideypool is so dumb and I hate that Marvel's stooped to the level of acknowledging it.
also, I'm with ya on that ot4. you've got really good taste all around. (I doubt you're actually gonna see this because I'm replying to a year old post)

>>844Which version of it do you like nonna? I remember Nolanverse had a ton of Scarebat content back in the day, but it's hard to find for comicsverse because RiddleCrow dominates. Personally think ScareBat is cute in any canon since there is that fear connection.

>>844There was this insane fic about them that single handedly got me to read capeshit because I wanted to know what drove the author to make something like that. Their dynamic in Begins easily explained it.

>>898I tend to prefer when it's more comics centric, but do enjoy Nolanverse too.
Out of the many ships between Batman and his rogues, scarebat remains my favorite because of how maladaptive Jonathan is when the situation involves relationships with other people.

>>1000Oh neat! Heard of this series but didn't realize the MC was a fujo, that's pretty cool. Final panel there is hilarious.

>>1000I love Emp being a fujo, my favorite part is when her roomate points out that she hates all of those dudes and Emp laments that they're so hot.

>>1001>>1002Emp's other fujo superhomies looking up bl of their teammates after seeing them getting
raped/murdered/cannibalized by Willy Pete left a bad taste in my mouth. I know they're canonically ginormous assholes but that feels like it's something more on par with what you'd see in The Boys.
No.1005

>>1032I really recommend it!! It was so good, there's a bunch of homoerotic scenes in it (yet no actual sex unfortunately. There's a frotting innuendo scene though). If you choose to see it then I hope you like it!!

>>1033Sounds right up my alley, but I'll have to wait until a scallywag ports his ship onto shore with the movie among his booty.
No.1035
>>1031I'm not into capeshit but my friends are and they convinced me to go see this in the movies. No regrets kek it was so unabashedly homoerotic! I wasn't very familiar with these characters so I wasn't expecting it at all.
I hear you on the Honda odyssey scene that was so intense. It legit felt like a long drawn out sex scene with all that grunting and straddling going on. I could almost taste all the gorey hatesex fanfics being written right there kek
What did you think about the ending nonna? While the whole
roommates situation is really sweet, I'm personally not a big fan of domestic fluffy stuff and prefer my BL couples to be in a constant state of angst and misery. Wouldn't it be more fun if logan fucked off and wade spent the rest of his days pining after him and regretting not making a move? Idk maybe that goes against the whole message of the movie and their character growth but its interesting to think about.
No.1037
>>1035!!!! Thank you for replying to me omg I love talking to other poolverine fans.. Seems like a stupid thing to be thanking someone for but, what do I know. This ship has rotted my brain so much to the point where I'm actually excited over someone talking to me about it.
The Honda odyssey scene — im so so so glad you thought the same way. My irls thought I was batshit crazy for interpreting it like that, but DP literally had his leg over Wolverine's shoulder and he was full on manspreading beckoning him to "come here". I haven't found the perfect gory hatesex fic yet but it's a very recent movie, maybe im just impatient kek
As for the ending, I do agree with you. It's a little bit tame, but it's a cute ending for a somewhat heartwarming movie. I would've really liked for him to suddenly ditch Logan like he did with Vanessa in the first movie, you know? And then they spend years yearning for one another, regretting not furthering their relationship and are just constantly miserable whilst thinking about each other. The whole shebang.
I did think it was really cute when Wade introduced Wolverine as "Logan" to Blind Al though, I was sooo freaking happy omg I was fujoing out. Like yay they're on a first name basis ? It felt like he was introducing his boyfriend to his mom
No.1040
>>1037>Wade introduced Wolverine as "Logan" to Blind AlOh I didn't even catch that! That's so cute now that you mention it.
Another scene I liked was when they were fighting all the other deadpools from the different dimensions and wolverine never mistakenly attacked "his" deadpool. Like he just instinctively knew which one was "his". Kek or it could be the fact that this deadpool was the only one not attacking him, but a fujo can dream anyway.
No.1044
>>1031I relate! I just got back from the movies, and during that scene I turned to my friend and said "That was so homoerotic" hahaha. Wanna draw loads of Wolverine tearing deadpool to shreds

I love all Batman rougue gallery ships, especially ones taking place in Arkham Asylum. I never get sick of "villian befriends other for safety but grows attached" cue jailbreak. Hattercrow has always be a favorite ever since I read Long Halloween, the nursery rhyme interpretation of Jonathan works well off of Jervis and his Carrol quotes. Combine that with both being interested in emotions and human patterns of behavior and I can buy them as natural friends. There are a lot of great Batman villians I'm patiently waiting to appear in something more "mainstream" so people will write more fics like Clock King or Ventriloquist.

i hate dc even more now for ruining timkon by making the wrong superboy into guys. now tim is with some dude who was overtly heterosexual in his past comic life and kon is doing god knows what.

Honestly I like him more with Noir, though I can see the potential. I really wish the show did more with Deep, I feel like he's horribly underutilized and given basically nothing to do in the later seasons. If they dedicated more time to his feelings of inadequacy around Homelander and treated his conflict less as comic relief I'd be all there for it.
I feel like with Butcher/Homelander you have that relationship with Becca and Ryan where both of them are mirros of each other and trying to fill similar roles. Both have fucked up relationships with fatherhood, both as in having daddy issues and being negative father figures themselves. It's got some weird vibes, and I can see both using sexuality to establish dominance and demean each other.
I don't know if I ship them per se, but I do think they would hatefuck.
No.1754
>>1753I honestly think the entire 7 is underutilized. The Deep had an arc after getting gill-raped and ousted from the 7 and joined some sort of superhero Scientology to fix his reputation but then he just ended up ruining it again because… the writers wanted to make him a dudebro manosphere incel. Why? I like Deep x Homelander because Deep is probably the only character who doesn't secretly hate Homie and actually wants to be near him, besides Black Noir
Speaking of, horribly underutilized. They develop his character and kill him the same episode, so lazy. Not enough good art of them.
Yeah Butcher x Homelander are decent because they are the same person basically, but one is human and the other a "supe" or basically a weapon. But the show doesn't really delve into it enough and Butcher is annoying to me. Not enough interactions with them that aren't just OI OMELANDAH. Homelander understands Butcher more than Butcher understands Homelander or even himself.
Were there any fujos on the writing team? A handful of fujos would have fixed the shitty writing for sure.
No.1755
>>1754This is true, the show in general suffers a lot from character bloat where new characters are introduced but they don't kill off or remove the old ones so they just sit around doing nothing.
Same with plot threads just fizzling out, I actually can't remember if that Scientology thing ever got a conclusion, so weird. Another good example is the "Super Terrorists" in the first season and the release of V to other countries, you'd think that'd come up again, especially as Homelander takes power and America seems like an actual threat but it just doesn't matter after season 2.
>I like Deep x Homelander because Deep is probably the only character who doesn't secretly hate Homie and actually wants to be near himThere a bit in the middle of the show where it felt like he was specifically being played off of A-Train with the Deep wanting to get closer to Homelander and A-Train wanting to get away from him, but while A-Train has a conclusion and grows as a character Deep doesn't. I don't understand why the writers insisted on keeping him so static.
This is also kind of reflected in the finale of the show where he dies a completely inconsequential fight with Starlight 500 miles from any of the action. I really think they missed a chance to kill him in the previous episode either saving the drowning person, heroically proving he still did want to be a hero all along, or fucking up and ending up in the water while running away. Both those options would have been a conclusion to the character depending on how they wanted us to feel about him. Alternatively have him die when Homelander is confronted, he could either save Homelander from an attack and die in the process or maybe get fucked up and Homelander chooses not to save him. Sorry autism, but I feel there is so much missed potential.
I totally get where you're coming from with Butcher being a bit annoying though. There's so much whiplash, he's easily the most complicated of "The Boys" themselves but yeah a non-zero amount of his dialogue feels like autopilot. Honestly the moment-to-moment writing of the whole show isn't good but I like almost all the characters in some capacity.
>Speaking of, horribly underutilized. They develop his character and kill him the same episode, so lazy. The fact that it happens to both of them… Noir is suffering.
>Were there any fujos on the writing team? A handful of fujos would have fixed the shitty writing for sure. You'd think given it's mostly ex-Supernatural, but alas.
No.1756
>>1755The super terrorists and the release of V in other countries was such a build up and then was never addressed ever again despite actually showing Vought as not only an international threat but a global threat that could elevate America as the ultimate hegemony, even moreso than it already is, spear-headed by superheroes and utlimately Homelander as the mascot. Then I suppose we're meant to assume that third world countries now have access to superheroes but it's fine.
I think The Deep is static because he's a schadenfreude character, I like how he doesn't actually change considering so many of the other characters go through corny change of hearts. Your ideas for his demise are way better than him being tossed into the water. Was Starlight trying to spare him?
Butcher could've been deeper if the other Boys played off of him well. They don't really. They go back and forth between not trusting him or wanting to work with him to trusting him within the same episode.
Also why did none of them kill Stan Edgar? Why does he get a pass?
Wasted opportunity to just make this show a harem ecchi about Homelander and co!!!
