Anyone here enjoys western BL? Any recommendations?

Personally, I love always raining here and I've been obsessed with it for years. They have good chemistry and I relate a lot to the story.

I'm obsessed with western webcomics! Currently reading Avialae again from scratch, bird dude and nerd dude, they're cute. I was reading Grün & Gold by Lisa Brenner but dropped it for obvious reasons, those reasons being that it isn't BL.

Oh my god, anon, the nostalgia…
I love It's Always Raining Here. It was one of my very first and favorite western BL comics. I felt like the characters were just incredibly likeable and the art(at least in the later chapters, not former chapters) was so nice! Glad to see someone else appreciates it!

i remember "always raining here"…loved how manipulative the little twink was.
it was one of the only western comics i read, alongside "starfighter" and something to do with a pair of princes (which had a super child storybook type style – was still very cute though).

there was another comic but all i remember about it is a guy being forced to wear lipstick.

are we going on a nostalgia trip here? i remember teahouse was probably the first western bl webcomic i ever read. one of my friend was a big fan, big enough that they even cosplayed a character from the series, and they recommended it to me.

don't think i could stomach re-reading it now, though. i went looking for art from the comic to attach to my post and cringed.

Anyone else remembers AMOLAD? I still think it's cute
>>67
I'll check it out, nonna. Thanks for the recommendation.
>>68
I loved the characters and the art, too. A lot of western webcomics have a really unappealing style, or very unrealistic characters. Especially when they mix western and asian tropes, it doesn't work.
ARH will be forever in my heart, I like it too.
>>69
I will read starfighter, then. Never heard of it.
>>70
The art style isn't that bad, but the color palette is something I can't get behind.

ARH is such a nostalgia trip for me, I remember reading it as a teenager while it was still updating. It's trippy seeing my own comments under the pages from like 8 years ago.
I recommend TJ and Amal. It's one of my favourite pieces of media ever, not just in the realm of webcomics.
>>69 Anon, was the princes one called Doki Doki Checkmate?
>>70 Kek me and my friend were big Teahouse readers too. In hindsight it is pretty fucking shit.

I fucking love TJ and Amal! It was so comfy to read back when I was in middle school. Let's also appreciate the queen who created them.

I've never actually seen a picture of her before! She's such an icon, love her.

Thought I'd add the webcomic rec chart from wcg on /lgbt/. Haven't read all of them, but there's some good stuff here

I'm actually compiling a list of my own but glad to see the gay section has almost all picks that I'm adding. I'll be making it into an image after seeing this for easy viewing then.

How do nonnas feel about Heartstopper? I find it cute/charming, but I can't stand the author.

Does anyone know the name of a webcomic that was at one posted in tapastic about a twink in a wheelchair who befriends and falls in love with a bully/criminal type. This webcomic had a pink color palette and was redrawn at least once.

>>80
I've read some of those, but some I never heard of. They all look nice, though.
I'd like to read more lesbian webcomics.

I really enjoyed it years ago, but I haven't been keeping up with it. What's the gossip about the author?

 No.85

>>84
There's no gossip, she's just annoying to me, personally. She's your average "fandom mom" type of millennial tumblrina. She irks me for no reason.

This fucking webcomic is the reason why I'm so into height differences so much. I even remember the cosplayers too lol

I followed it when it was going and REALLY loved it and heartbroken at how it (not) ended </3

Read it, found it kind of bland really, just too much of a typical teen romp with some, the skinnier guy would be a girl with an obsessed abusive ex and an ED and it could feel the same.
The fanbase thinks the comic (and the Netflix series) is the second coming of christ though. And the author is… yeah.
Not really for me, is on the same league on inoffensive fluff as Always Raining Here.

Been enjoying this one (Hidden Facers). Started off cute but is getting progressively more schizo.

Exorcism Academy is also good, if you don't mind art styles that are bara-of-center. Very lewd and those scenes are long and done well, but broken up by lots of world building and character development, which is what I like.

>>83
I don't mind Heartstopper itself, but the real entertainment value comes from the internet pissfights about it since it got big. Boyfriends is the same. It's funny how inoffensive stuff that makes an honest effort to be Good Representation gets really polarized and picked apart by twitter, whereas actual degen, violent or fetishy stuff tends to have really good communities that just enjoy the work for what it is.

Desert Peach, legend of a flamboyantly gay german dude during WWII. Not for everyone, less of a bl series than one where the MC is gay and has a male love interest who pops up from time to time. Drawn by a fujo before fujo was a thing. Can be found on Webtoons after age verification.

 No.522

>>383
Huh, didn't know it's available online. I own it as physical copies. Pretty cheap from amazon. Very underrated series, I like the detailed art. Shame there isn't really a big fandom for western fujo comics, definitely the author is early fujo lol.

 No.523

>>383
I want to thank you for introducing me to this wonderful comic, anon. I'm truly in love with it.
>>522
For some reason I was expecting physical copies of this to be pricy, but hearing that they're cheap makes me happy. I'll definitely be buying!

 No.734

>>523
NP, nona! I'm glad you like it. Do you have any favourite characters or comics? Only really worked up the confidence to reply after all this time, lol

 No.749

Anyone here read ghost eyes? The main plot isn't Bl focused but all four of the main characters are gay in some way.

 No.750

>>749
I have not, but the series looks interesting. Seems the Webtoon upload starts in the middle? Where did you read it nonna?

 No.751

>>750
I wonder why it's like that for you, have you tried the button that says "first episode" ? If it's still not working, the webtoon is also available on tapas.

 No.769

OP here, rising from the dead.
Personally, I hate it. It was cute at first but everything about it annoys me now. The author is a classic SJW tumblrina and that ruins her work for me!
