Vader/Tarkin, I think there is a lot of canonical backing to it especially factoring in Clone Wars, Even without that though I like the fact that Tarkin appears to be one of the only characters Vader respects in the OG trilogy.

Also partial to C-3P0/R2-D2 but it's hard to find good content for them that isn't just crack.

I don't really have one that makes me viscerally angry or anything, but I've never been into Obi-wan/Anakin. I just think their relationship is better interpreted platonically. Nothing against people who ship it of course.

Off topic but I'm not much of a movie or TV watcher. I got invited to see the first movie of the new trilogy so I went, when kylo ren showed up in full suit with his deep voice I was like DAMN who is this hot piece of ass, I wonder what he looks like under that mask (fully expecting/wanting him to remove his helmet only in the last film). Anyway he takes it off and it's some UGLY DUDE WITH A BENT FACE WTF. It was so shocking to me. I had never even heard of Adam driver. I felt so betrayed, a woman with a face like that would NEVER have a major role in any film. I got used to his face after that but he's still not hot, or even attractive to me.
Sorry driver fans lol

Haha, I kinda felt the same way until I saw him in other movies. I feel like the directors were trying to make him more attractive than he was and kinda fucked up by accident. He looks normal in other roles.

It is an awesome ship! I wish people actually made content for it. I like the idea of Luke somehow becoming attracted to Vader before the big reveal and then having to deal with the fallout of finding out. Alternatively rescuing Vader at the end of the series and then falling in love while he recovers also strikes my fancy.

I found a really old fic with this pairing. One written in the 90s and originally published in a fanzine which introduced me to the ship. It's a guilty pleasure for me

Ahh yes! I love the idea of Luke's horror during that fight/reveal stemming from that. He was in love with his own father- lmao. When I watch the movies I watch it from my shipping POV so it makes it all just a tiny bit more spicy.

Also Luke looking like his mother obviously would factor in, I love that trope.

Oh could you share maybe? I got into the ship after reading this old fic on AO3. They can't have sex or anything because ol' Darthy is obviously horribly disfigured. But they have this weird mental jedi sex and Luke kinda persuades his father to rule a little less tyrannically through gentle suggestions.

I think it would also be fun if Luke wasn't attracted to or into the guy, but knew Darth Vader was into him and kind of used that to lure the man down a less bloody path.

you hit the nail on the head, kek. 99% of why i’m watching is just to hear their banter and find fodder for fics. meanwhile the other 1% is because i’ve (regretfully) seen all of sw minus the animated content and felt obligated to watch it eventually.

i was also told it gets legitimately good at a point, but right now it’s just kind of comfy and nostalgic feeling and i’m already having fun with that tbh. although there’s still the lingering shame of being an adult watcher of children’s cartoons (which is arguably one of the worst categories of terminally online people).

I would agree with people who say it gets legitimately good. I think the best part of SW is the EU and world building and Clone Wars does a lot to flesh out the prequel era, I had no nostalgic attachment to it and thought it was good.

Don't let people shame you for watching a children's show, as long as people understand that the show wasn't made for them and doesn't need to cater towards their adult sensibilities it's fine. Like I said though Stat Wars skews adult for most fans so I don't think it's that weird lol.

Keep me updated if anything else triggers your fujo meter. Anakin/Obi shippers seem to be the big fans of CW but I know some people ship other characters.

Did Palpatine rape Anakin? I want a spin-off of Anakin getting broken by the dark side.
