Downgrade from the first season for sure, took on way too many subplots and would've benefited from having another season. Still watched everything though. The Jayvik scene in the last episode was gay as fuck which made my fujo heart very happy.

I liked where they were going with dictator Caitlyn at first but they didn't let it simmer long enough so the 180 she did within three episodes was very jarring, could've been really good if executed better. The Ambessa/Mel stuff was a snoozefest to me, I think it just wasted a bunch of time that could've went to the other characters.

ShenZed Ionia series for more food.

If they don't fumble as badly as they did with season 2, yes. Heard they have a live action in the works though so I'm not looking forward to that since Fortiche's animation blows everything out of the water.

I get you anon, I really do. But what we should take in consideration here is that Caitvi, as fucking boring it is, is a really, really old ship. Well, just like Jayvik but here's the kicker: it's lesbian. And everyone knows that lesbian ships are the safe gay because it can be very easily censored and men just love to watch two women going at it. I liked the AU where everything is fine and people are happy (except for Vi who's dead). After this huge Marvelesque season 2, I'd appreciate a comfy SoL season 3 set on that AU, where nothing bad happens and people just chill and nobody has a mental breakdown on every ep. I have faith that even without hex-tech Viktor and Jayce will still be gay for each other.

I swear read manga that are the same. The almost-but-not-really canon gay couple is so fucking developed they acted like married couple with all the domestic shit it involves but then got a drama development arc regardless that eventually turned their love into a romance transcending everything material. It was partly painful and the end is bittersweet but goddamn this is how you do romances.
Meanwhile the canon het pairings in the same series are reduced to "we are engaged" and "waifu blushes". That's it. There is nothing else, not even hugging, let alone any syncing or emotional bond outside of "we're together because I have a penis and she has a vagina". No lead up either, the girls loved the dudes the moment they met them. Wow how interesting.

I don't get it. It sometimes make me wonder if a lot of people writing shit like this are closet homos or bi and project their deepest longings and dreams onto this ships because "not gay" and then deny them anyway if you ask them.

Wasn't originally into it, but this fic (https://archiveofourown.org/works/35789221) redpilled me on Jayce/Viktor. So good gawddddd. Also season 2 really solidified their relationship.

Similar to general opinion, too convoluted and tried to bring too much in. Had some good moments. Felt like many of the deaths were unnecessary/just for drama.

I have a love/hate relationship with Jinx and I really liked Isha and Hemindinger. The character writing is very good in Arcane so I pretty much like every main character.

Controversially (at least on here) I enjoyed Cat/Vi a lot (still better in first season) and Powder/Ekko. Really liked the Zaun v Piltover stuff from the first season and sad only a little transferred over, even if those were some of the better parts of season 2.

Well, finally picked it up after ages of ignorance. Turned out, the series gets great right after I stopped (think it was episode 3). Now I understand the hype, it's a genuinely great watch and something I "marathoned" in two sittings which says a lot. Most characters are good too and saying this as someone that almost never likes female characters in fiction.

Think it was just as great s1 with the exception of the last few episodes. Seemed like it just had everybody fighting for the sake of it because that's how showdowns should be but it was the first and only battle that bored me and I felt like some characters acted a bit ooc there.

Sadly no. I'll check out the one you mentioned though. Not sure if I'm just really picky now but the quality of Jayvik fanfics tend to be on the lower end? Even the ones with lots of kudos don't interest me much. PWPs were never the pinnacle of writing but the ones I come across are extremely generic even for one shot standards.
Though I highly recommend "Four Million Miles from Here", not only because it was written by an anon (not from here) but the characterization and writing itself is amazing.

In my experience, it's always like this in big fandoms. Lots of young, inexperienced writers, which is good, I think, because they'll probably make great works some day, but it'll take a while for their writing styles to develop.
