A thread to discuss how to reach potential new users for Fujochan from around the web. Over the years, we have gained a core user base of fujos with diverse interests and thoughts. With the recent 4chan downtime, it is the perfect opportunity to expand the user base and gain regular posters!

For example, we have discussed using an Ao3 tag to drive curious users to the site in another thread. If you have more thoughts, share them here!

I don't know how to tell the Joseimuke anons from /vmg/ to come here.

 No.9445

Just to start this off, we also talked about making an anon fanfic collection for the site and I thought we could do an interest check first. Would nonas be willing to upload fanfic under a FC collection? I guess we could also make a site tag for people who don’t want to publish anonymously. The idea is that it’s not in your face advertising but any reader who likes to poke around would be introduced to the existence of the site. What do you guys think?

Did /vmg/ migrate anywhere at all? I know a lot of people went to 8chan but I can’t imagine a joseimuke thread gaining any traction there. Does /vmg/ have a ghost thread in any archive rn?

Some /vg/ general moved to 8chan's gacha but only some are active.

I'm gonna be honest, and this has been something that's been mentioned before in other threads i'm sure, but it's far more difficult to advertise fujochan to other fujos/other women because of how intolerant FC is of trannyshit. It's an unfortunate mix that is kind of unavoidable by this point if you're a fujo, most people won't tolerate that much anti trannyshit let alone feel comfortable posting around "trans haters" and at best some anons can pretend to hate but outside of here (if they are found) they're neutral at most.
The "being found" is also another factor because a lot of fujos have either niche interests or small fandoms and they could be easily seen or tracked, which would lead to bigger fandom people becoming aware of "the fujochan racists/transphobics" and make things harder for everyone.
Mind you, I don't really care *care* but I have talked to some people before who still think all of 4chan is like /b/ or that all of 4chan is /pol/ and even if you talked like a normal sane anon, you can't be trusted if you are 'fine' with typical channer behaviors, etc etc. keeping a reputation is a more common fear with women than with men

>>9444
I'm almost sure that a lot of /vmg/ joseimuke anons were straight out of twitter.

 No.9449

There's /blog/ in /jp/ too but yeah I don't know how to get it out to the anons there too. They are not in 8chan.

I like this idea, but I will warn nonnies that my writing is pretty shit

 No.9451

As a newcomer from 4chan, I've been thinking the same. This place is great!

>>9448
>I have talked to some people before who still think all of 4chan is like /b/ or that all of 4chan is /pol/
If you go on reddit, they have this weird saying about a Nazi bar. Basically, any 4channer is a literal devil because they don't group police other 4channers.

We could make a prompt thread or self-promotion thread (or both) and tag the related AO3 works with Fujochan and/or add them to a communal Fujochan collection.

Fujochan has been brought up there before some time ago and that's how I got here. Last time I remember it happening a guy started sperging out about the female only rule, though.

 No.9453

>>9448
That's kind of what my original idea was trying to address, overt advertising would 100% be detrimental to our site since this is a female imageboard that allows us to express things that aren't acceptable mainstream and women are always held to higher standards. Just tucking it away in a collection link where only the more adventurous people would try to look up our site and wonder why a collection exists. Nothing like blasting our name on social media to the world. Also, I feel like you also have to consider that we aren't the only ones frustrated with modern fan spaces, other people are also frustrated and may not even know why, stumbling on FC could be an epiphany for them. Besides, we have handled and come back from even worse shit like the raid that almost destroyed this place, we can handle people gossiping about us. And nonas with niche ships who could be easily identified are under no obligation to publish under a FC tag if they feel it could harm them. It's also supposed to be a fun thing after all, no stress. But if you have better ideas of what we could do, please share.

>>9450
No worries lmao, I'm not a good writer either.

To be fair, /cgl/, /y/ and /cm/ essentially got ruined by men, so they're not entirely wrong about how a small part can ruin the rest.

I hate this metaphor. It was actually initially made by some writer who looks exactly how you think he would, and it gets repeated by every Redditor ad nauseam.
>>9453
>stumbling on FC could be an epiphany for them
I will say that when I found the site, it was one of the first times I felt the desire to actually post about fujo topics or engage with the fandom more actively because the people on here were less weird than in most fujo communities. I would assume there are a lot of people who would fit in here, but either don't know about the site, or they aren't vocal online because of how fandoms are elsewhere.

Realizing we're in for an influx had me go full OPSEC on my old posts. Had an anxiety spike until I found the right pw to delete a years old one that namedropped a small fandom I was in. \(˚☐˚”)/
>>9455
>people on here were less weird than in most fujo communities
FC is the most active I've been in a fandom space since about 2010. There's little fear of tripping over a landmine who decides the only recourse for having a different opinion about a character is to dogpile and dox you.

If we do a fanfic writing thing, we could use challenges from dreamwidth communities. Like there’s drabble challenges (100 words), short story challenges (1,000-10,000 words), one chapter a week challenges, and even whole weeks dedicated to certain ships or fandoms. I feel like it should be like lc’s moovie night thread where someone posts updates on what’s playing next. /ex/ could even have a thread dedicated to kinktober. In terms of what content is acceptable and not acceptable, if it’s okay to post on ao3, I think that’s fine but I think we should have a rule against turning a ship into het with extra steps. So no transing, no gender/pronoun changes unless it’s turning a het ship into a gay ship or something like that, no pussy, etc. I know there’s a writing thread here, but it’s a little barebones at the moment.

 No.9458

>>9445
Sure! We have a writing thread on OC already, if someone knows how to make a collection I don't mind contributing to it.

Excellent idea. The different tiers will make sure everyone is included and nobody has to write more/less than they are comfortable with just to fit in.

I sent in a request for a new ao3 account for the collection, the ETA is april 28. I think until then nonas can share prompts and ideas in the writing thread?

I am extremely wary about advertising because female oriented spaces are a magnet for incels. But at the same time- I do want more people to talk about stuff with outside of discord enclosures that feel like a sadsack zoo. And the firm cis male only stance makes things worse for trying to get the word out.

>>9445
I'd be happy to post an anon fic to get more traction. I feel like so many writers don't actually have a place they can talk about their hc's without upsetting their readers. And some people don't comment knowing they'd get push back against the No negativity types.

I don't get why people here are so paranoid. No one is gonna bother to come here except people into yaoi

NTA but we have been raided before so I understand why people can be scared, but also I don’t think incels find this place through actual fandom activities, they find this place through male dominated imageboards.

Call me autistic, but being a fujo is already damning enough. I don't care whether people who know I'm a fujo consider me a Nazi, transphobe, far-right, homophobe (?!) etc. It's like once you reach a shame threshold, you can't be shamed to any greater extent. Not that it matters, because fujochan is not reddit or a site dedicated to transgenderism.

>>9464
The fault lies solely with the admin for not archiving the site.

 No.9476

I’m not sure if a site tag is very informative. IMO better to have a collection that people can add their fanfic to. They can upload anonymously and turn off comments if they want too. Adding in dedications to fujochan within the body of text itself is another option. We can host prompts, trades and requests here on fujochan as well. Perhaps nonnies would be open to having someone assemble AI-voiced narrations of stories uploaded to the FC collection, they can be hosted on ao3 (iirc) or YouTube.

Yeah, just putting in the author's note "written for fujochan prompt challenge" is enough to get the name in there. The collection name can keep it short with "FC (whatever)" so the focus is still on the activity. If it's too heavily labelled people might pass it by because they aren't part of the group, you want them to read first and check where it came from second.

The hypocrisy is astounding. Plebbit is full of degrading porn, yet the average Plebbitor thinks itself innocent and not burdened with guilt by association.
