Did anyone else find this one super interesting? I absolutely loved it. My favorite genre of documentary is the kind that focuses on some super niche topic like this. Any recommendations for documentaries that also focus on random subjects?

Yes Grizzly Man is great! I'd also recommend the rest of Werner Herzog's documentaries all of them are just random topics he personally finds interesting.

Some really random ones I like…

Atomic Cafe (1982) which is a collection of historic footage and propaganda pieces all about atom bombs. It's pretty funny in a dark sense and uses a lot of juxtaposition.

The People vs. George Lucas (2010) a movie about fringe Star Wars fans and their love-hate relationship with the creator. What's interesting is it was made before the sequel trilogy so the "fringe" and "crazy" fans that are depicted in the film are now the kind of people you would find on youtube.

Screaming in High Heels: The Rise & Fall of the Scream Queen Era (2011) movie about women in B movies. If you like Troma and other low brow trash (like me) you'll get more out of it, but even without that there's also discussion of the B movie business as a whole that's interesting.

Tapped (2009) A movie about bottled water, the business, the environmental impact, and companies attempts to market something you can get for free.

Room 237 (2012) Insane documentary which markets itself as being about interpretations of the film The Shining, but is actually a movie about conspiracy theories and how the human brain has the tendency to see patterns where there are none. If you haven't seen the Kubrick film this one will make no sense though.

You went above and beyond! Thank you! It's so hard to find good documentaries, and I'll definitely check out all of the ones you listed. I hate being let down by an interesting premise. There was one documentary I tried to watch a long time ago about how a woman lied about surviving 9/11, and worked her way up to becoming president of the World Trade Center Survivors' Network before getting caught. Somehow, they managed to turn this very interesting subject into something way more boring. It wasn't bad, but it had the potential to be so much better.
>I'd also recommend the rest of Werner Herzog's documentaries
I love all of Werner Herzog's documentaries that I've watched. I love his perspective, and he has such a unique style. That one clip of him talking about the chicken cracks me up.
>Screaming in High Heels: The Rise & Fall of the Scream Queen Era (2011)
This one sounds really cool, as I've also watched a lot of B-movies and garbage of that nature. I actually know nothing about the industry, so I'm excited to learn.
>Tapped (2009)
I just watched this one because of your recommendation, and it's so fascinating! It's personally interesting to me for reasons I can't really detail, but this is a great recommendation. I wish more people were aware of this.

This sounds like my favorite type of thing. I've never watched The Shining despite loving horror movies because I hate Stephen King. Maybe I'll have to finally watch The Shining just so I can enjoy this documentary! Kubrick did direct one of my all-time favorite movies, and I like a lot of his work, so it won't be too much of a chore.
