I've been sitting on a bunch of doujinshi to scan for months. Also need to finish up typesetting the sfx in a few things before they're released. Working on your own causes massive burnout.

Anyone else got that one manga that's not even good but you've been waiting for someone else to translate it so long you've considered trying it yourself too many times to count?

What are the best websites for reading BL scanlations? I only use Myreadingmanga, but I would like to expand my options.

I upload doujinshi on sadpanda because mrm only approves half the time. Mangadex and bato.to are where original works go.

If you have an android device I'd recommend installing Tachiyomi and getting MRM, batoto, and mangadex as sources. You can put sadpanda on there too but I can't remember how easy it is to use. Basically you can go to browse and search all your source sites in one go for a title and check which has the most chapters uploaded, instead of copypasting the title into multiple site searches.

On the scanlation side of things: mangadex gives uploaders full control of their chapters including replacing individual pages when you need to fix things, bato.to is apparently quite amicable when contacted to fix things but you have to communicate with people.

Not a scanlator, but as someone who reads mostly fantranslations this was quote interesting. Thanks for sharing.

this is a shot in the dark but what's the etiquette regarding translating doujin on your own and uploading it? i'm thinking about taking raws from mrm and translating them in my free time. do i need to get permission from the raw provider? is there some sort of initiation ritual where i need to pay my respects to the senior scanlators in the scene or something? kek sorry if it's a retarded question. it's just that scanlation groups seem so clique-y and i don't want to step on anyone's toes. i'll keep my translations private if posting them without permission is looked down upon.

I think it couldn't hurt to ask the scanlation group for permission. That way if anyone ever tries to accuse you of stealing or some shit you'd at least have messages to prove otherwise.

If raws are free on the web no need for permission. Also I'd rec picking something easy and get a pr
