>>2152>Have you ever been active in the same fandom for several years or do you tend to lose interests quickly? I'd say it's around half and half. I'm in my 30s now and have stuff from my teens still kicking around in my head, but I've also dipped into some FotM stuff and then bounced when the fun wore off.
>Do you participate in several fandoms at the same time or do you prefer to devout yourself to 1-2 fandoms at the time?I cycle through them. I used to juggle a lot of them in my teens, but as I got older there was just much less to squee about.
>Do you find it weird when people stay in the same fandom for years? Do you think they are weird/obsessive and not willing to try new stuff?Nah, that's like thinking it's weird to have a comfort food. I think these people do try new things, but if they don't love it, it probably doesn't make it to their social media.
>Do you judge people for changing fandom often? Do you think those people as clout chasers?I used to not be judgy, but then too many artists I used to follow got into vtubers. I have a mile-long list of filters on Twitter for this shit and finally just had to start blocking the people who managed to get through them. Makes me miss tumblr like you wouldn't believe.
As for clout, I can understand chasing it if nsfw fanart is your moneymaker, but I consider it soulless, especially if you can't tell what an artist actually loves by looking at their galleries. This is partially why I consider fanfic "purer" devotion than fanart–the most writers get from fanfic is notoriety and very, very rarely can they springboard it into something that pays the bills.
>>2156>(and worse, they delete old art as they fandomhop).I've been revisiting an old ship on tumblr and so many blogs I check from a reblog I see has been deleted. I'm glad that at least SOME art is preserved via reblogs, but it's hard not to be bitter about the loss. I save everything I can now.
