I used to read Digibro's blog, "My Sword Is Unbelievably Dull," but he doesn't maintain it anymore. I've lost respect for him to the point where it's more embarrassing than anything that I used to follow and care about his opinions.

Over the years, I've purposefully distanced myself from opinion pieces and reviews since they mess with my own perception of media and give me preconceived notions. While I enjoy stumbling upon essays about the production and history of a series, the idea of following someone's seasonal picks or personal opinions on the medium isn't really for me.

I've never really gotten into blogging myself. I have a Tumblr where I post about what I'm watching and screencaps, but it's unsubstantial, so I wouldn't call it blogging.

Wasn't that actually, it became apparent the more he switched to video as opposed to blogging that his opinions weren't as well formed as I thought they were when they were just articles. There was a lot more name-calling of shitty anime as opposed to ruminations on the industry as a whole. I'm not sure if I could pinpoint an exact thing that was the final straw so much as a slow realization of, "I don't think this is a well-substantiated point." I stopped following him well before he became a tranny or druggie.

Looking through that tracker, I'm surprised how many blogs are still actively updating. Guess I just assumed it was a more niche medium now.
