Here are some of my favourite books about drawing landscapes and backgrounds. Although most of the time the characters are in the spotlight it's important for them to be in a pretty, well drawn enviroment. I can also post my books about perspective if anybody wants.

Nonnas, where do you go to find reference photos for bishonen/twink/ikemen type males? As expected, reference materials of young thin conventionally pretty women is a dime a dozen but you're bombarded with old, fat and/or ugly moids when you try to look for male refs. Some sources I can think of are:
>photos of male dancers/models/etc
>the occasional male costhot
>random Asian thirst traps on Instagram/Pinterest - the Korean and Chinese ones have the nicest faces too
>3dpd gay porn
Anything else?

I got the files for 2 of those Scarlet Beriko BL pose books that can be used for reference, the first is for kiss scenes and the second for love scenes.
Please bear in mind that the zips below only contain the image files from the cd included with the pose book and not scans of the book itself. Hope this helps some anon, if I fucked th files please tell me.

>>923No it doesn't and "real" artists use refs all the time. It's why you're able to buy stuff like
>>846 or 600 page books of just models to use for drawing purposes.
No.925
>>923I didn't use refs yet but I admit I regret it because I draw a lot of dudes in hitatare and hakama fighting or sitting in strange poses and while I eventually get the folding right I realise that I could have saved hours and brain cells had I just used a ref to begin with instead of redrawing a thing three times lmao
Though sometimes my problem is that I have very specific poses in mind when I create art and even when I causally consider using a ref I usually don't find anything close to the exact pose and angle I wanna draw. But sketching basics still helps memorizing how exactly the fabric moves and folds.

In fact, tracing poses is actually common among big artists just to save time on composition. Most won't notice behind the scenes of course.

And some unrelated general advice. I have a massive folder of screenshots from things I like: hands, angles, panel layouts, etc. I think it's the best way to learn what you like.

Ughhh I am getting frustrated looking at my art. I just don't have the skill to put what's in my head onto paper. I know the only cure for that is more practicing, but it's significantly un-fun when it all just looks so imperfect.
I need to recuse myself from society and live in a cave to draw yaoi for a full year.
No.1142
>>1141I know that feeling very well. I need to practice to get better but practice feels like homework and it's not fun so I've really lost the drive to keep drawing. Been on a hiatus to focus on my gaming backlog and I'll come back to drawing after a while, probably.

Beyond just 'look at stuff you like and copy what they do', are there any good tutorials for drawing mangaish dicks? Ie, something that isn't too realistic but also isn't super cartoony.
Actually, on that note: are there any good tutorials for, ah, rhythm, I guess? Adding a sense of impact and flow and etc to drawn sex scenes? I know sfx noises do a lot of heavy lifting, but I feel like my art tends to be very static and am not sure how to fix that.
