>>2018i'm kind of embarrassed since i don't keep up with new releases much. i pretty much just keep a backlog of the same old songs and whatever else is interesting but i do try to listen if one of my favorite producers releases something. kiichi has put out a couple songs in the past year i really like but they're both synthv so i'll share a len song by him instead. i've been out of the loop for a little bit now after using social media less and less over the years so i don't know if i can really comment on the current state of the fandom. from what i've seen though i think a lot of newer fans are coming from project sekai and yeah puritan culture is kind of starting to seep through hence lumiku becoming proship like you said. i do find it funny how those fans will still share the older 'problematic' songs and fanworks though. i mostly avoid the discourse and just try to keep track of the fanart and songs i enjoy
as for merch i've been wanting to get the taito roomwear miku for ages but i'm nearly broke after buying tickets lmao id like to have figures of the kagamines and meiko too though

>>2024It's alright! I don't keep up with new song as much as it might sound, but I'm always willing to give a new song a listen.
I like SynthV, but sadly they lack the charm Cryptonloids have. Although I'm very happy for SynthV Teto.
If you want some advice for buying merch, just buy them directly from Japan. I managed to get my hands on some rare Len goods by doing so.
I'll share an older song where Miku is a fujoshi!

I spent an hour looking for this old video I could only kind of remember and I found it. The holy Grail.

>>2668Omg thank you for sharing this wonderful gem.
But now that you bumped the Vocaloid thread I kinda wonder how many fujononas are coming to Miku Expo? I'm going personally. I'm aware of how much of a fiasco it is, but alas I plan to go anyway.

>>2670I'm not going this year, but it was always my dream to go to a vocaloid concert so even if it was an LG TV I would probably go anyways. I saw the song "Gedo" with Kagamine Len was playing this year and I'm super jealous I love that song.
…With that said I wish they had gone with the hologram.

>>2670It will be my first, I'll be going in DC and wearing all len gear (with a 96neko/len jacket) with banana candy to hand out.
I'm pretty upset about the hologram, but I can't do much about it so I'm just going to try to enjoy myself as much as possible. The set list being shortened, no free lightsticks or pre-events is also sad… I feel really bad for my friend who bought VIP since apparently they're not getting any of their perks basically and he wanted to get merch. I'm not gonna give them more money for this shitshow so I'll just have fun and try to cheer up others. I want to learn chants and stuff to prep if anyone has good resources! I made sure to get my whole party a set of glowsticks in the appropriate colors!

No.3599
>>3596Nothing against the creator but the sin and yaoi paddle stuff feels tailor-made to piss off the antifujo crowd who thinks your average fujo is like this. Maybe the maker of this was raised fundie and has some religious baggage going on or something, but they've kind of invited themselves to get dogpiled and I hope it doesn't happen. I couldn't even bring myself to look at the comments tbh.

>>3599SA but also if this had been made 15 years ago or even just made by a Japanese composer, Len would have been in it. Not even a Lenfag but seeing a vocaloid yaoi song without him appearing feels wrong.
No.3601
>>3599>I couldn't even bring myself to look at the comments tbh.I think because of the advent of the fujoshi rise and people getting tired of the moralfagging around it, most don't care about the "sinning!!11!" stuff anymore. Most of the reactions I've seen are positive, even on xitter.
>>360099% sure Len isn't in any ero scenes because the creator wanted to avoid pedo accusations or whatever.
No.3602
>>3601>99% sure Len isn't in any ero scenes because the creator wanted to avoid pedo accusationsDefinitely, but it's a shame things have to be like this. They'll still be getting shat on for the rest of the video's content by the people who would care about that either way.
>most don't care about the "sinning!!11!" stuff Honestly it made me cringe pretty hard but I never felt any kind of moral dilemma over liking anime boys going at it, so I can't relate to those who do. It just makes me think 'chill out and enjoy your porn, it's not a big deal'
No.3603
>>3599I think it's just meant to evoke nostalgia. People really did used to have yaoi paddles, and people really did used to be like "omg I'm sinning! >.< /nose bleed/". It's the most popular architype of fujos, at least in america(idk where the creator is from)
I feel like anything fujo themed would piss them off no matter what also tbh

>>3648Deets on this, nonna? What happened? I'm slightly surprised because there was still a decent amount of lewd art in the video, but at the same time, not surprised at all.

No.3650
>>3649It's by Sawtowne, the same guy who did the MikuMikuBeam song. I really don't think it's bad even if he's not a fujo, theres a lot of smaller callbacks so I wouldn't be surprised if he had a fujo friend look it over and give him on it.
No.3651
>>3649>>3649He recently pussied out and denounced a miku song he did a cover on (Mimukauwa nice try) because faggots on twitter told him it was about loli. It's a very obvious attempt to save his ass while another controversy is going on (the kai yuuki song) and that just makes him look like a pussy ready to throw others with no consequence.
As a result, to me, it explains why he didn't add focus to Len in his fujoshi vid more often despite the fact that Len shota is the most common fujo thing. On top of most fujos being labelled 'problematic' by default, his song is as vanilla and people-pleasing as possible, utterly souless and using fujos as a gateway to simply get more popular.
No.3652
>>3651I'm glad I'm not the only one who got that vibe from the song, no shade or hate if any nonas here like the song or fujo Miku but to me it feels like it was written for tiktok zoomers who think fujoshi and yaoi are funny meme words. In general most post-mesmerizer viral vocaloid songs feel very souless and specially crafted to become trends, it's better to stick with small producers or ones that established themselves pre-pjsk fandom boom.

Are we allowed to talk about SynthV in this thread? I really like Frimomen's voice, it's rare to see good male deep voices. His design confuses me though, what's with the superhero costume alt kek. I also like Asterian but I hate his design (why'd they give him so much facial hair and muscles…)
For female SV's, I love Yi Xi, she's great and her design is pretty cute. Gumi is still my fav, both her SV and V4 voicebanks (V6 kind of sucks unfortunately). I also have a soft spot for Eleanore Forte, I like her clear pronunciation.
My favourite male Vocaloid is definitely Len, Gakupo and Oliver are pretty good too. Does anyone remember that one Len cover of Checkmate (the Gumi song)? I loved it but it seems to have been taken off youtube :(. I don't know a lot of male Vocas/Utaus, does anyone have any newer/less well known male voicebanks they like?
No.5215
>>3652>>3653It's refreshing that other people feel the same way, I've been a Vocaloid/vocal synths fan for like 10 years since I was a kid and the state of the modern fandom kind of depresses me, especially the EN side where people only care about PJsekai and Teto. I feel like Teto covers/songs, PJsekai covers, Deco*27's music and the occassional meme song that goes viral are the only things that get attention in the EN fandom nowadays.
