Part II and there really isn't any competition. Perfectly captures the globe-trotting adventurous tone.

Zenigata is my favorite for being sweet and goofy, but I like everyone in the series.

Sub, can't beat Yasuo Yamada.

Very, very tough choice. Maybe Farewell to Nostradamus or Alcatraz Connection? Also I'll throw in Mamo as my favorite movie.

It's between Red Jacket and Zero for me. Likely Zero because the animation is so crisp and the homo is more centred, but Red Jacket really gets the 'vibe' of adventure stories in that era, as >>4742 points out.

That said, Zero does a good job of that too, while retaining a more local, Showa-era vibe.

Goemon when I was a kid (Hot samurai with cleavage), since eeeewwww hairy men.

These days, it's monkey-boy himself. Lupin is such a darling slut, he should be kept on a lovingly short leash.

>Dub or sub?
Dub for regular Lupin! I feel it captures the humor better, and unlike being a straight-up dub, the humor is adapted in a way that's funnier to an English-speaking audience.

Adding this since OP neglected it.

Zenigata/Lupin is my OTP for the regular series, due to Lupin's intense flirting and Zenigata's bull-headed sincerity, but I feel like they're more fun to read about in fanfics than seeing fanart.

Jigen/Lupin is definitely cute, especially in Zero. They come across as very believable in their dynamic, feels like an old children's book, which is very nostalgic to me.

Your fan art is reminding me that I haven't actually watched Zero yet despite the fact that I pre-ordered the EN release. I should get around to it at some point, the aged down designs are on-point.

I'll second Zenigata and Lupin! I'm already partial to Zenigata as said above, but the way that he and Lupin interact in the show and anytime they form a temp alliance is so cute.
