They're an example, yeah, but they're not the only one I was thinking of when I made the post. I was also thinking of Meruem and Shaiapouf, Hisoka and Chrollo (actually, Hisoka and almost anyone), Pariston and Ging, Illumi and Killua, etc. In my eyes, I've never been able to ship those characters because I always see it as a more one-sided infatuation or obsession that would never be reciprocated. Like, I can acknowledge the tension or feelings are there, and I can acknowledge why other people do, but it doesn't appeal to me personally. I understand that's the appeal for some people, but I was kind of just explaining why it doesn't work for me and my preferences specifically. To be fair, I feel this way about most of the het ships, too. Again, it's weird, and I don't know why I'm like this.

Still not into it for this specific series for whatever reason, but I can see the appeal in this dynamic. I know a lot of the more popular ships do lean into more of the "fucked up and/or tragic relationship" side of things, and I usually like that. I just don't in this series for whatever reason.
