I do still love him and he'll always have a special place in my heart, but there's not much content of him out there anymore. I was really happy when Dark Side of Dimensions came out and I got to see him again, that was a nice time.

Light Yagami was my first husbando. I remember I was in 6th grade and my first anime was Death Note and I became absolutely obsessed with the anime, especially Light. Those were the good old days

Sonic was my first husbando when I was around 7 or 10. I really liked this little rascal because he's a good-spirited fun guy and found him pretty cute and cool. I have lots of fond memories of him and he holds a special place in my heart.

Back then, I sometimes buy the Sonic popsicles the one with the funny eyes whenever an ice cream truck stops by. On Saturday mornings, I used to wake up super early which I usually don't do just to watch his anime on Foxbox/4Kids Tv. Played Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for hours and had Sonic raised a Chao that's named after me imagining being taken care by him. Whenever I see Amy or Elise around Sonic, I'd get super jealous and drew myself with him carrying me in bridal style. Ah good times. Now I don't have the same feelings for him as I did as a kid but he's dear to me nevertheless. I still listen to his music and I'm looking forward to his new movie.

It's a bit hard to pinpoint the very first time I felt genuine love towards a character. I remember that I was already obsessed with a few characters from Watership Down when I was 5, mainly Bigwig. But I think that was more of a "this guy is my ideal self, me if I was better and I want to be like that" and less romantic love. The first time I was sure of it was with Frieza when I was 14 (I only started puberty with 15). I am not obsessed with him anymore, but I will buy every game he appears in and still follow everything DB related, not only for him, but he is a big reason for this.
I also noticed that I am still attracted to characters with similar traits and roles as him. This is generally interesting. There are two (or three, depending on how strict you are) types of character I will fall in love with. Every husbando I had and every dude I was genuinely into belongs to one of these categories or a mix between them. Guess I really have a type.

I am a bit sad that merch wasn't as much of a thing and not as easy to get in the late early 00s as it is today, I wonder what shrine I would have built if I had the possibility to buy figures and everything back then.

I did become obsessed with characters as a child but Len was the first time I got a crush on a fictional character. His lack of canon personality just made it easier for me to project whatever I wanted on to him lol. I liked his voice, specially in rock songs and I feel like Kagamine producers often did something high concept or had a story attached to their songs, which made Len so appealing even if his personality did change from song to song. His design is also cute, at least in off-model art he is so goofy looking on his boxart lol. I liked it when artist made him gentle and delicate looking. He hit the sweet spot between pretty and cool for tween-me

I've always found Hermey to be unbearably cute. Even today, I'd like to give him a kiss on the forehead. My little guy…

For me it was N. That moment in the ferris wheel together just ticked the right buttons when I was a kid. I got to play pkmnblack/white again and eventually managed to get my hands on a celebi from the previous games to transfer to the cartridge. I like to assume Celebi and Zorua are best friends. I did it to get that special event Zorua that I dreamed of when I was a kid. I named that Zorua after N, his name was "Harmonia" which is N's middle name. I was so happy when I got this tiny little Zorua and transferred him to my pokemon home on the switch so that he can stay with me on my adventures. I see it as a way to keep N's legacy alive in the newer pokemon games even if I personally think they'll never top the 2D ones. Anyways, I love N forever. I'm pretty sure the subtext implies he was heavily abused by his father my not so nice headcanon is that he was raped by his dad, controlled both emotionally and physically to the point that his last resort was talking to pokemon to mitigate his trauma either way. I love him.

Anyway, since Sanic was already mentioned I'll post my second husbando. I think I first watched Dragon Ball Z when I was like 7, but I didn't really get into the series until like two years after. Gohan, especially teen Gohan, was my crush at the time. I used to read a lot of fanfiction of him at the time (I unfortunately had unrestricted access to the internet), and I fell in love. Some can even say he was my shotacon awakening. He was so cute and gentle, even though he was forced to fight. I wish Dragon Ball Z had more SOL, just so I could have seen more of him.

Inuyasha. Everyone I knew preferred Sesshomaru, but Inuyasha is a perfect mix of hot and cute. I still love him, just not obsessed with him like I was when I was younger.
